[+] Remedium Returns [+]

“ALIS is the 4th new face on the block this weekend, dare I ask Who's next?“

You dared Mr TosspoT. That honour goes to Antarctica Remedium. The ET renaissance continues with these new kids on the block looking to overcome the two weeks challenge.

A cocktail of RTCW superstars, old skoolers and new talent is the perfect recipe for success.

Four former members of ViB make the leap over from RTCW to Enemy Territory, having dominated the RTCW scene in recent years - taking near every accolade possible. Not to forget their self glorifying frag movie Violent Reflection, nominated for “Best Wolfenstein” in the GGL Golden Llamas.

Then you throw in the talents of Nationscup silver medallist Hungary phobeus alongside team Netherlands captain rbnt you can expect great things.

They've an eleven man strong roster, with 7 active first team’rs and four reserves.

Netherlands rbnt (ex K@ozZ, psY.eSports)
Netherlands foSt (ex helix, queens)
Belgium edge (ex vib, svperfrogs)
Belgium kritos (ex vib, svperfrogs)
France maxuh (ex vib, svperfrogs)
France momo (ex vib, svperfrogs)
Hungary phobeus (ex T4Ce, cave)

Finland faisst
Croatia oblivion
Germany rasen
United Kingdom visore

Clan leader Netherlands rbnt had this to say
QuoteI have always wanted to start a 'here to stay-team' and, imo because of bad luck, it has never really worked out the way I hoped. When I started to talk with the vib.rtcw guys it gave me a really good feeling about this lineup since those guys have been together for a long time already.

Belgium edge had this to say
QuoteWe all stopped playing because the RTCW level wasn't high enough for us and rather because there weren't enough active teams and players. Though we still love RTCW we didn't want to start playing with some other guys, as mAx has started playing q4 fully, arno stopped playing seriously and mote is focusing on w§w.

Wolfenstein Stars Feature in GGL “Gamer Life”

Just days after the shortlists for the GGL Golden Llamas was revealed the GGL news team rounded up two of our stars for a look inside their movie making careers.

The first under the spotlight was Frederic “dirrty” Roginska creator of Violent Reflection, nominated for “Best Wolfenstein“. He reflects on his life as a university student living in Paris, how he got into video gaming and the tough competition.

QuoteConsidering the other submitted movies, how do you rate your chances of winning an award?

It's hard to say. I don't think I have such editing skills like in R3 Trailer or Winghaven movie, and I'm still fascinated by santabot's work, but I'm sure VIB movie has definitely the most impressive content ever shown in any ET/RTCW movie.

Next under the spotlight was the Wolfenstein demi-legend mAx, with his movie mAx Chapter 2 competing in the “Best Fragmovie” category. He too reflects on his movie making career, from his routes of simply creating .avis with clan mates to modern day frag movie classics.
QuoteDescribe your submitted movie.

Well, I believe there is 2 kinds of movies in ET and RtCW. The ones about editing, and the others about frags. People who tried to mix both always failed. So I focused on showing frags more than showing special effects. I guess my goal was to show it was possible to do some nice actions with a normal gun in ET, even if the game is more about teamplay and spam. Most of the people just see the amount of players fragged, more than the way they are fragged, I wanted to show the 2nd option in this movie.

Alex “Robo-K1ll“ Curson creator of Get Quaked 3 was also featured, you can find that interview here

R3 ET Clan Trailer Leads The Way

The R3 ET Clan Trailer today strengthened its grasp on the Enemy Territory frag movie scene with a massive five nominations in the GGL Golden Llamas. Some achievement for a movie trailer.

The movie is nominated in the categories for Best Picture, Best Editing, Best Wolfenstein, Best Tech and Breakthrough Video.

Whilst the Aussie allstars Modus Operandi are in second place with two nominations for their innovative movie Vindication, including Best Presentation and Best Wolfenstein. Competing alongside them in the Best Wolfenstein category is the RTCW classic Violent Reflection, the prodigal panzerfaust Winghaven in Out Of The Way and a compliation of RTCW frags in Eurocup X RTCW.

A testament to the creative and influential Wolfenstein movie makers out there the “Best Wolfenstein” category has been reinstated - after an absence in 2004. “4Kings Revolution” winning Best RTCW Movie back in 2003.

The awards will take place March 2nd.

The NxM Cup Goes Raw

image: xfirelogo

Tonight sees the second round of action in Group B of the NxM Cup. As the newly formed uQ Gaming team look to prove that they can live up to their predecesors. Though this competition got off to a bad start for uQ, with a default loss to Poland WoW in the first round leaving them languishing down at the foot of the table. They face a Finish team who are also desperate to pick up points after an opening round defeat to Italy n1ce.

The NxM Cup is unique in its foresight, based around a refreshing map list including the likes of Adlernest_b7, Braundorf_b4 and Raw_te.

With tonight showcasing Raw_te live on ETTV. Will this map prove good enough for competition play?

1 Blow up the Main Wall and secure the Forward Spawn
2 Destroy the Castle Main Door
3 Blow up the Vault Door guarding the Documents.
4 Steal the secret Documents
5 Transmit the Documents

Cup admin NxM had this to say about the inclusion of Raw_te
Quote
Before the Cup was announced I tested it with NightRaver and FlyingDJ and we all agreed it had enough potential to be at least tested in the Cup. It's a nice map with multiple attack routes and the possibility for diverse tactics.

uQ`Sexyhot is of this opinion
QuoteRaw_te is a really small map, and seems relatively easy to defend. Allies can only attack from 2 sides to get the docs. 6 man defense will be close together and strong, a really spammy map.

My opinion? It's small, compact and spammy. It'll no doubt make a great map for 3v3, where issues such as mines aren't a problem - but it needs some major changes to be suitable for 6v6 play.

It must be emphasized that although the map name is “_te” it is actually the first beta of the map. With the latest release being raw_b3, which you can download here

Team Beta Crowned #ET-Cup Champions

image: etcup

After three intense rounds of action Team Beta overcame a resilient Helix team to take the gold.

It required a close decider on Adlernest_b7 to secure the win, with only 30 seconds remaining Germany Pumu ran the documents home. Their path to the final looks like:

4 0 > Finland Foundation
4 0 > Hungary Team Hungary
4 0 > Poland Polewka
4 2 > Europe Team Helix

Over in the second division Finland The Syndicate took the title in emphatic style over Austria GoQ. Who where simply outclassed on the day, losing 4 0. Their path to the final was:

> Benelux Prodigy
> Netherlands Routiniers
> Czech Republic BFU
> Austria GoQ

European Union?

In the absense of United Kingdom foonr…

NationsCup ’06, sadly it’s been a muted affair so far. No major upsets, no last gasp caps no nothing. This Sunday however could change all that…

There's not one, not two but three cracking clashes as it's make or break time across the board. The winners will most likely go on to qualify whilst the losers are sent packing.

Kicking off the night’s action we’ll see Team Hungary and Sweden go head to head. Both are currently languishing outside the top two qualifying positions in Group B, a real possibility that neither will progress to the next round.

Team Hungary dropped their initial and only match against an impressive Netherlands team - who are currently being touted as potential champions come March. Whilst Sweden overpowered France 4 0 in the first week only to crash and burn against a resilient Dutch team in the second.

This match is a battle for second place, though that positions not a certainty. As the Czech Republic are currently won 3 from 3, though they’ve yet to face any of the big guns.

Quote[/i][/i]image: game186

Then we move onto the rearranged clash between Israel and the United Kingdom over in Group C. Information about that tie can be found here.

Finally, the climax of the evening comes as Belgium take on current holders and competition favourites Estonia. Belgium currently hold the top spot in Group A having taken easy wins over both Portugal and Croatia – fielding a strong team including the likes of zeto, Ganon and Shewie. Though they’ll face an unforgiving Estonian team – possibly the strongest to grace NC yet. This Estonian line-up genuinely a team of champions, fresh from recent escapades across the globe.

Can Belgium create the upset of the year?

ET-Cup - United Kingdom Germany (random flags to avoid whine)

The GGL Does ET Eurocup

Earlier today over at The GGL site former ClanBase ET supervisor Netherlands Cash wrote a report summarizing the the uQ Gaming vs. idle.ee EuroCup final.

QuoteAfter one of the first EuroCup finals of this season, Team utimate Quest can call themselves Europe's best Enemy Territory team. In front of 1700 ETTV viewers, the Finnish players showed how ET should be played. Their opponent Idle.ee didn’t stand a chance.

On Radar and Braundorf, uQ simply overran the Idle opposition with better teamplay and sheer determination, taking the EC title.

Last season, with only seconds to the objective, Vaiko 'Night' Vainola's famous panzerfaust shot stopped the Finns from claiming their first title. This season, they came back, aiming for the one prize that could satisfy them.

Also Belgium Maidron, the match admin covering the clash has put up his report over at ClanBase. Don’t forget you can watch the match again in full thanks to ETTVoD.
