rockit go straight through =118=

Team Rockit have snapped up another team today after recent talks with top RtCW team =118=, it was clear that their style and attitude in gaming were of the highest order and fit straight into the rockit family where we hope they will continue their reign within RtCW! For the readers not knowing that team, one could only say they have dominated the entire community and competitions that are left in the game for about three years now. Their passion for the game they love, the similar roots we are coming from and the connection between yet two guys and rockit - being Clown and MerlinatoR - had a big impact on our decision to take those fantastic guys in.

The new rockit.RtCW team already won the latest RtCW LAN at Crossfire Challenge 6 along with other online competitions including the just recently finished 'Early Xmas Cup'. The side heavily features the Crossfire Prizefight Challenge 2 champions one.soldier lineup, with 5 of those 6 players in the team - chronos, crumbs, juncie, MerlinatoR and sharky. With other top players who have a wealth of experience in the side the team has every chance to continue putting 'faces in the mud'.image: picture-13

Intel LanCraft Silesia

image: lancracfc

LAN events for Enemy Territory have become rare these days. The one and only LAN event will probably always be the Crossfire Challenge in Enschede, will it? Some people out there work their arses off to get ET played at different LAN tournaments being smaller and local ones most of the time. Germany, Poland, France and the Czech Republic bring some ET offline action to life once in a while and there we are again. The Czech INTEL LanCraft in Silesia announced Enemy Territory as a tournament game some days ago and community workers like Czech shoutcaster smOke or Polish news writer and ClanBase admin Homer try to get as many teams there as possible.

As the tournament itself will not feature high cash prizes and it is set to take place simultaneously to the Crossfire INTEL Challenge 7 in Enschede it is hard to attract many teams. As this can be seen as a chance to promote the competitiveness of ET for further LAN events there are still some teams interested to go to have fun and gather some LAN expierience. The following teams registered to attend the event so far.
  • Czech Republic NecroRaisers
  • Czech Republic Confis eSports
  • Poland 1stCav eSport Club
  • Poland Fallen One
  • Poland Vae Victis
  • Poland Trivium

Further information about the Enemy Territory tournament look like this:
  • Date: 5.-7.3.2010 (Should be played on Friday)
  • Krnov, Czech Republic (Near the Polish border)
  • 5vs5 Tournament (Rules to be announced)
  • Double Elimination (Loser bracket & Winner Bracket)
  • Prizes to be announced (Prolly depending on signups)

CIEC Recapitulation

image: ciec

The Crossfire & ESL Intel Seeding tournament has drawn to a close. Yesterday we witnessed the playoffs where all competing teams fought for a more beneficial position inside their respective playoff tree. With this system we were able to obtain a complete seeding of all teams, be it high or less high skilled. But we also took the opportunity with this tournament to send out a message to all players that wish to compete on a Crossfire LAN that all participating teams get a decent chance at playing a considerate amount of matches, even if you're only going for fun, instead of having to drop out after two or three games. Another reason for this tournament was to get teams active to raise the skillbar for CIC7 in order to get the most competitive LAN possible. With amazing performances on ETTV yesterday, we can conclude we're on the right way to achieve this.

1. United States of America Blight
2. Europe Rockit

The biggest upset came from the Polish side Poland Perception. With having an infamous collection of ex-cheaters, they managed to turn some heads by winning their group without losing one single map, while being pre-seeded as a mid-team. They couldn't continue this winning streak in the playoffs where they faced Europe Rockit, but nevertheless this performance is at least interesting, as they will most likely be judged on their LAN achievements in Enschede. This goes for all teams though, it will be interesting to see which teams can live up to their online seed. Expect a nice "online-only?" review of the teams after CIC7!

Also Germany logiX.et put up a rather strange performance, as they were seeded amongst the high seeds (and almost got a top seed), but only ended fourth in their group. It shouldn't surprise anyone that the playoffs of the fourth division were a walk in the park for them, but nevertheless they only were able to obtain seed 25 (as that is the highest possible seed for division four).

Others on the other hand did just what people would expect from them. United States of America Blight took home the best seed as they won the final against Europe Rockit. Perhaps Rockit were underperforming, or perhaps it was Finland squall that added the magic ingredient, but whatever may be, I think we can all agree the best two teams were in the finals. And not to forget, on the entire opposite end of the seeding, we can rest assured, Benelux WCTNCTCPI and Europe TEMR did exactly what they predicted, lose all matches and get lowest seed. If it weren't for them some serious team could get last spot, and we wouldn't want that now, would we?

Bremen b3 released

image: bremen_b3After Latvia Clowns' column "How to make Bremen better." and the strong community support of the idea Australia Dersaidin sent Germany me a bit outdated mapsource of beta2 and I started my work.

The map has been played in all kinds of competition for years. That is the reason why there is not much change needed to improve it and adapt it for the new 5on5 format. Only few changes were made and are supposed to improve gameplay at the last two changes.

Changelog:
  • moved truck barrier
  • wooden barrier constructable (indestructible)
  • barred parts of office windows
  • truckicon for axis
  • lampmodel fix
  • corrected maplocation of bremen

New pstarZ

We've encountered a several lineup changes of CIC7 teams. Now, one of the top seeded squad have changed a mighty sledgehammer into a devastating axe. With a zoo full of llamas they wish to please spectators with a decent performance on offline and online competitions. Their efforts are certainly concentrated on Crossfire Intel Challenge 7. Their main goal is to fight for the place on podium, reaching playoffs is a minimum. Without further ado, here's refreshed Netherlands pstarZ.dNan's lineup:
  • Netherlands hayaa
  • Netherlands Ati_
  • Netherlands modus
  • Netherlands joop
  • Netherlands BuLL
