The almighty and famous contest known around the world as EuroCup is in its really last stage which motivated one of the invited participants and one of the EC favourites to make some thoroughly changes in their ranks. As you know after reading the news title I am talking about polish powerhouse Fear Factory X-Fi!
Tonight the EuroCup XVII qualifers stages are ending. The last four matches are scheduled for 20:00 CET and will decide which 4 teams will move on and join the rest of the gang to fight for the EC title. Even tho all matches are scheduled to start approximatly at 8 o'clock delays may happen.

Polish top player Michal 'kot' Staszewski returns to Enemy Territory's pro scene with joining Re-Play's devils. His new team just qualified successfully for the upcomming EuroCup season to follow Polish contrahents Fear Factory X-Fi as second Polish team. With joining Devilry the new lineup easily leads to the imagination of a new diversus squad as his former mates Robol, Wodzian and buzka are already part of Devilry for quite some time now. kot himself played in pretty famous teams just to name Dignitas, Netrunners and FatGames as some examples. Some even titled him to be ET's smartest gamer; the strength of his former teams underlines that thesis.

Next to the diversus clique will FF X-Fi star r1co most probably be joining the team to take Dolars place being the second FF player besides S4rna. His move is not sure yet as some of the members stated. Only yesterday r1co played for Authentic Gaming in the mentioned EC qualifier match versus his possible new mates. With their succeeded qualification the Poles proved to be one of Europes - let's say - 'stronger' teams. How far they can go and whether they are able to come close to former archievenments under the Netrunners tag remains to be seen. Seeing new top teams rising is already quite nice for its own; their plan to attend ET's Christmas event CC5 doubles that.
Today, the staff of the well known esports organisation H2k-Gaming announced that their Call of Duty 4 team and the organization will go separate ways. Full story inside…
With all changes in the Call of Duty scene, we seem to be the last organization to do so. After a successful Call of Duty season, H2k.TT have decided to make a move to another organization, with other known French players. Look more inside...
This also means that h2k will be saying goodbye to their participation on the Eurocup and ESL Major series with Call of Duty4
Almost seven months ago VAE presented their first ET: Quakewars Squad. Back then, the competition scene was pretty good. We saw Teams like Dignitas, SPEED-LINK, Geh aB!, Logitech and many more organisations, who recruited ET:QW Squads. But since then, the scene was dieing more and more.
After a long talk with the VAE.QW players we decided to not put any more effort in that game. Since the 27th of January 2008 the Squad had 48 official wars.
In 34 of them they were able to take the victory, 11 times they were the losers and 3 times the match ended in a draw. They received eight awards in their time under the VAE tag:
This post should have been made a number of nights ago but an untimely format was needed on my computer, so it's only being posted at this stage!
Thanks again to everyone who took part in the competition and thanks to everyone who followed it from the early stages, all the way through to completion. We had some great games all the way through and for me, it was really fun to write about and watch.
After all was said and done, I asked Lio a few questions about the tournament in general and hopefully, someone from the Polish team will do the same whenever they get round to reading their PM's. :D
One last thing I had in mind. Blatantly ripping off other tournaments, I decided that awards should/could be appropriate for the XF NC. Nothing too elaborate, just something to maybe point out the recognition/contribution of some people that would normally receive little credit for their actions.
The first stage of this process, would be nominations. Now I do have suggestions in mind but it would be nice to hear from the community as too who you would like to see nominated.

The first round of games has ended with a packed schedule to come over the next two weeks. With WTV Likely to be on every night that games are played we can only hope that it will always be as thrilling as last nights game between Highbot and Rapeus.
after a short delay with a slight misunderstanding on the game date - HighBot allowed them to use two mercs so this game did not get cancelled. HighBot secured the first two rounds to make it 2-0 on Frostbite - next with the newly converted Braundorf being played, Rapeus drew the scoreline up 2-2. Ice was the overtime map and both teams took one round making it 3-3 - then it went into sudden death where They Double full held before HighBot won the game with a 7minute time and defended it drawing this epic 2.5 Hour game to a close.
At the end of August TEK9 Networks were happy to announce that they had found their replacement of haya, who decided to leave due to personal motivational problems; the replacement was the former mYm player Mark. Unfortunately late Sunday night the organisation announced that the Call of Duty 4 team will be splitting up.
The reason for the split up is the lack of motivation by some of the players, Davy and KNALLER, both players will probably be quitting Call of Duty 4. Another reason is a problem in the private schedule of the players, which makes them unable to attend upcoming events, like GAMERLAND. The remaining three players: OZWALD, Stevy and Mark will hopefully be in another team in the near future. The following two statements are taken from TEK9s page, for the full statements, please check their site:
As KNALLER states, it is possible that the team will reform as TEK9 in the upcoming title Call of Duty 5, depending on how successful the game will become. It is sad though, seeing one of the best teams in Call of Duty 4 splitting up. The, now previous, lineup of TEK9 was:
Davy "Davy" Sysmans
Alexander "KNALLER" Shulepov
Antonin "OZWALD" Grenier
Stevy "Stevy" Verheyen
Mark "mark" Horner
