After a long time of preparing for the new season we are finally able to announce the teams that will take part in this seasons EuroCup.
Now that some of the big names in ET are coming back the road is not really open nomore for many new clans to prove their worth and have their moment in the spotlight.


This season will be the same format as the previous one. Four groups of four teams will be made up giving sixteen teams the chance to compete over the gold.
Eight of those teams are direct invites and the remaining eight will be decided trough qualifier games.

Oh my god! It's really here! Our XF NC is on it's last legs but fear not, We still have an epic final bronze game in prospect featuring Finland taking on Germany!

The Bronze Match is going to take place at 20 CET, just in time before the actual nationscup final between Belgium and Poland.

Tonight ClanBase will announce the chosen few from both Crossfire games, Enemy Territory and Call of Duty 4 to attend the upcoming EuroCup Fall season. As known there will - next to the direct invites - also be qualification matches to determine the
EC participants.

This time they will not give out the invitations via IRC as they usually do, but in form of a live video stream. The invitations show will be broadcasted from the OutPost Centers in Antwerp, Belgium. The CoD4 invites can be followed from 20.30 CET as the timeschedule says. Subsequent to that will be the Press Conference with Chiefs of the Cups at 9 o'clock PM.

Enemy Territory will make its presence right after the conference at 21.15 CET. As of yet no fixed numbers of EC teams nor the distribution of direct and quali invites are known. So feel free to tune in tonight to follow the live show giving you all information you need. The lists of all teams will most probably be unveiled at the ClanBase page right after the official announcement. Furthermore you can join #EuroCup to get additional information regarding your cup.

The deadline draws ever closer for the ESL UK CoD4 Pro Series Qualifier #1 which ends tonight at midnight. So time to get cracking if you want to take part.

There will be three one-day qualifiers which will be held with the second and third scheduled for Wednesday 17th & Sunday 21st of September 2008. These qualifiers are to determine the 12 participants of the inaugural ESL UK Pro Series.

The first qualifier sign-up ends tonight at midnight and the brackets will swiftly follow. If you want your team to have a shot at the £15,000 prize purse then follow the instructions below and put your Sunday roast on hold.

I've written yet another long preview article here and I’m also trying to hound down and pester some random people for views on the match itself, which I will add in due course to this newspost and my article! I know the banner is a bit shitty but I’ll try get someone tomorrow/today to make me something nice and pretty for such an epic occasion!

The PCGamer Showdown taking place at the end of September at Stonleigh Park in Coventry has teamed up with Enemy Down to offer 11 free tickets for the event. 5 of those are to be won in CounterStrike Source, 5 in Call of Duty and 1 special ticket for those who play in the most BE Mixes

In addition to that, the ticket prices have been dropped for the event from £60 to £48 for the weekend. Entrants are competing for up to £30,000 worth of prizes in CoD4, CSS, TF2 and WiC.

There are only few tournaments with worthy prizes in the ET world, CDC or Quakecon for example. But that’s to change now! Ladies and gentlemen, I present you a Czech tournament for both Czech and foreign teams with total prizemoney of 5000 Euro. This all was possible thanks to the NecroRaisers association in co-operation with Expekt.com for whom this is the second cup of this type. The first one was a CoD4 tournament. Signups start today. Monday night the Italian multigaming organisation Cubesports.AMD, which is mostly known within the Counter Stirke, CS:Source and Warcraft 3 communities, announced their newest squad; Call of Duty 4.

The squad, which is now under Cubesports, began when the two Team Impact players George and Shade decided to leave the team, after some disapointng results at AEF and TEX. They managed to seduce 4 players from Inferno into joining them in this new squad, under the banner of Cubesports. On LowLandLions's website George made the following statement:

This newly formed team will most likely be seen at upcoming European events, a huge question arises when it comes to the likes of CC5. The question is not whether or not the team will attend the event, but rather, if the former CPC ET winner and local Crossfire celebrity XyLoS, who is a part of the lineup, will be playing CoD or ET at the upcoming event.

Signups for the Fall Season of the ClanBase Enemy Territory EuroCup and OpenCup are now closed. A total 259 clans have signed up to compete - somewhat down on previous years highs, though still one of ClanBase's top games.

This past month has seen a number of big names return to the game in order to compete in EC and CC5. Notable names for this seasons EC include mamut, TLR, Vicious and Evil, HighBot, Overload, Authentic and Fear Factory.

Game-Violations have today responded to community pressure and released an updated version of their streaming scripts. The new scripts have reduced the size of the PBSS in an attempt to reduce lag. The Game-Violations scripts takes one PBSS between a time period of every five and twenty minutes, on average one screenshot every thirteen minutes. This is considered the equilibrium in an attempt to keep a watchful eye on players, whilst minimising any potential lag.

Following feedback from the community we have amended the PBSS settings in the Enemy Territory scripts. We hope this will help to cut down on the amount of lag.

We will continue to work closely with ClanBase and the community to improve our systems and settings so please do not hesitate to voice your opinions either to us on the ET Forum or to your CB game crew.

ClanBase claim this will offer 4 times less lag than their rival Punkbusted.

Servers must run this script in order to compete in ClanBase competitions. Any matches not using the script will be canceled.
