QuadV Clanbase Eurocup Coverage Begins

image: ecbw4

Sunday night marks my first visit as a Call of Duty 4 caster into the Clanbase EuroCup. We start off our coverage of this tournament in the group stages on two action packed maps, Vacant and Crash.

19:30 CET Sunday 6th April - SK-Gaming vs Team Coolermaster.EU - Vacant, Crash[/u]]

Germany SK-Gaming are a clan with something to prove after what some claimed was a dissapointing LAN performance at CDC4. Personally I just think it wasn't their day and there is a lot more to see from this team in the months to come. Online was where they made their name as Germany The6Devils defeating all the top names blazing a trail to victory in the CODQCUP. That fact alone makes them the hot favourites coming into this match on maps which hugely favour their play style.

Germany SK-Gaming Line-up
Germany iFear
Germany Thunder
Germany fliezon
Germany Mokai
Germany Respawn

Europe Team Coolermaster.EU recently attended i33 with what must have been a dissapointing result. Getting knocked out of the tournament fairly early in the double elimination stages, this team has a lot to prove in these early stages of CoD4. A lot of people claim a fully mixed European team just can not work and this is something they will want to prove people wrong on. Beating SK-Gaming would certainly go a long way to doing just that.

21:00 CET Sunday 6th April - Dignitas vs Roskilde Ravens - Vacant, Crash[/u]]

Europe Dignitas are the top money earners in Europe so far with €6000 in March from taking victory at i33 over United Kingdom TheLastResort (now MYM) in a closely fought finals on Crash and District. They doubled that victory Sunday night in the EMS Qualifiers taking victory in the second map to secure their top english team position. With the recent line-up change and new in-game captian Netherlands Sko stepping in Europe Dignitas have gone from strength to strength and are fighting hard to prove i33 was not just a one off.

United Kingdom Mick
United Kingdom Blackmane
United Kingdom Raz
Netherlands Sko
Norway Plazma

Denmark Roskilde Ravens had a fairly pleasant trip to i33 which was rewarded to them for their impressive performance at CDC4 earlier in March. They took home €250 from i33 with a 7th-8th place finish after a disapointing result against United Kingdom Exabyte. However they took a lot from i33 with Victory and Defeat against Belgium TeK-9 and a draw against Canada Evil Geniuses. They also suffered defeat to Europe Bangin it eurostyle this week in the Live2Win League Upper Bracket Sem-Finals on Vacant in a game which put Europe Bangin it eurostyle into the spotlight with 3 very impressive results. Denmark frijec and his team will be looking to boost confidence levels with a good result against one of Europes Top 3.

Join Deman and Joe with Live Video Coverage of these matches at 19:20 CET on QuadV TV1.

21.00 CET ET - Cortana vs FF.org [/u]

On top of the Call of Duty coverage, TosspoT will now be bringing live coverage of Poland FF.org vs Croatia Cortana from 22.00 CET. The match promises to be a test for the favoured Cortana side as FF posses a lineup which is most certainly strong enough to cause them some problems should they play well.

Personally I favour the croats for this match, they've a great deal of class in their lineup and some weighty experience should aCozZ play for them having now left fatgames. GBooky says otherwise with the current odds short for the Polish side ahead of the encounter, we'll find out tonight who's right!

The software is clientside and requires users to create an account and download the x-ray software. The software then forces screenshot uploads and scans your computer for cheat processes. On top of this the software has a very active support system in which the ET community is welcome and encouraged to participate in aiding them detect new cheats that have been released.

25.000 € CoD4 Tournament

The Danish esport promoters at Roskilde have made a push to further cement CoD4 as the future of competitive FPS and try and attract teams not only from Europe but as many international teams aswell.

There was no end of hype over the i33 CoD4 tournament about how it was shadowing the CS:S tournament in terms of prize purse however now the Danish LAN event, 'The Experiece', have now created a prize fund over double that of i33. The total prize fund at i33 was an impressive 12,000€ however The Experience CoD4 tournament will see a prize fund of 25,000€!

This mightly LAN will take place in Roskilde, Denmark on July 31 - August 2 and will hose a Call of Duty 4 and FIFA 08 tournamnent. The FIFA 08 tournament will have a prize purse of 3000€. There will also be a Counter-Strike:Source tournament which will be played between July 24th and July 26th but will boast a modest in comparision 12500€ first prize.

Tickets will be on sale on April 21. Ticket price for 5 players and 2 staff members for Call of Duty4 will be 500€.

FG with a phat lineup!

Fatgames have rung the changes in their ET squad after successfully qualifying for the Eurocup season. The side have gone out and picked up two of the old TLR/aMenti CDC winning side in a huge transfer that puts them right in the thick of things for upcoming prizes.

Their new roster is;

Ireland sol
Poland kot
Estonia Holz
Poland s4rna
Belgium mAus
Croatia aCozZ

Urtier and buzka will remain backups for the side, whilst Holz will continue to rifle until he changes his PC. Kot had the following to say about the team;

QuoteWe've gone out and got two fantastic players that state our ambitions as a team. They've won CDC and that has always been my life long ambition, not just for myself, but also in honour of the great and prosperous nation of Poland. We're expecting to perform well in the upcoming spring seasons and then move on from there.

UPDATED

Yesterday evening saw an unconvincing Europe fatGames taking a 4-2 victory over France dESIRE on decider map supplydepot. Although very strong on radar, the team failed to impress on the other two maps and they will definitely need to raise their game if they are going to go through to the play offs out of group B.

Tonight things will really start off properly with two big games on schedule and the good news is you will be able to spec them both!

CoD4 League Premier & League Divisions

image: 2504This Spring is the inaugural season of the ESL's Call of Duty 4 League. More than 200 teams signed up to play, the top twenty-four of those teams have been placed in the Premier Division. Representing the best teams in Europe outside of the ESL Major Series they will fight for honour, pride and 3 direct slots for the next season of the ESL Major Series.

MYM.cod4 'Calling 4 Duty'

Today MYM have ventured into the realms of Call of Duty 4 and have picked up the young and consistant TLR boys. With the earlier announcement of MYM shutting down their CS:S section they have decided to focus on Call of Duty 4.

The new MYM.CoD4 line up is as follows:

United Kingdom Morg (manager)
United Kingdom LoOkzor (captain)
United Kingdom SoCLoN
United Kingdom D1ablo
United Kingdom Mark
United Kingdom Stat

Statement LoOkzor: “Firstly I would like to say thanks to MYM for taking an interest in Call of Duty 4 and our team. It's going to be a real honour playing under the MYM colours, and as a team we hope to really make an impact with Call of Duty 4 and show everyone that this game has the potential to be big. And with that, as a team we are the best in Europe, under the MYM brand we hope to continue our strong form which we have held recently.”

Statement Morg: “I would like to thank MYM for taking the team in, and putting faith in us to grow the MYM.cod4 name. It is a really exciting time for Call of Duty 4, with it going from strength to strength. With already over 10 big LAN events announced for the summer it’s going to be a busy time for the MYM.cod4 team. Expect to see a lot from us in the coming months and be sure to check out what we are doing on the MYM website.”

It is also currently rumoured that TLR are considering lodging an official complaint to the g7 teams, of which MYM are a part of. TLR feel that MYM have steped out of line and broken some fundamental goals which the g7 set to achieve.

These goals are:
"To promote the cooperation, amicable relations and unity of the whole esports community."

"To promote cooperation and good relations between teams, players and esports organisations."

In responce MYM Mark Peter Fries, the COO of MYM has stated:
"If a team doesn't have a player on contract in anyway and the player hasn't signed any other legal binding documents that ties his/her stay to the team, then we consider them free agents. We might add the G7 organization offers free professional binding contracts for download on their member site www.g7teams.com . In case a player or a whole team would have been under one of those contracts we would, at any time, have consulted with them first, for a transfer with or without fees, or simply have waited for their contracts to expire if negotiations for a transfer, while being under contract, would fail."

Europe FatGames 4 vs 2 France dESIRE - april 2nd 22:00CET
[/b]

EDIT: After an unconvincing performance on braundorf by fatGames they went on to fullhold on radar and beat the and then take it to a decider by winning the offence round with relative ease. Third map was supply and fG had to put their shoulders in to it in the end to grab a 4-2 win and apart from some strange black screens popping up it was a pretty straightforward match.

MVP: Estonia Holz ! :D

Dignitas with new ET team

Its been a while since the community heard anything from Dignitas however thats not to say that they've not been plotting their long awaited return to ET! This their third squad has something of a familiar feel to it and will send out shockwaves in the community!

Dignitas' new lineup;

Denmark Darkie
Sweden FeruS
Sweden civ
Sweden Spear
Sweden zAm
Sweden tba

This latest squad from Dignitas has all the potential needed to become top dogs the question is whether they will be putting in the hours to achieve that!

Quote by DarkieIts great to be back in Dignitas and back playing again. We've all missed not being active as a team, and we're trying to get back into the groove once again. I'd imagine it'll take a while to get good again, but these former powerhouses are more than capable of being at the top come CDC5!
