With the Crossfire Devotii Challenge 4 rapidly approaching, its time for the seeds and groups! Each tournament has a different format and thus please view each seeding and tournament layout subjectively.

Call of Duty 4
Because CoD4 is still very new and there have been limited tournaments from which to draw seeds, there is NO #1 seed in CoD. Instead we are following the champions league format of Seeding Poules, there is no ranking within the poules. Groups are drawn with 1 team from each poule going into the group.

Evil Geniuses, arguably Canada's number one gaming orginisation have ventured into the Call of Duty scene officially picking up "The Docters" who originate from North America.

The Docters core members consist of wombat, northman and w!$eguy who have played together over the past few years and have been specialising in both Team Fortress 2 and Call of Duty 4. In the wake of a signifigant decline in the competative TF2 scene, the team have decided to focus more on Call of Duty 4.

The cup will start at 18.00 CET this Sunday evening with 16 participants and be a simple knockout bracket (single elimination). Every match will be played in Best-Of-3 while the first map is forced and the second and third maps are loser's choice. It's time to prepare the upcoming ESL Major Series with 1.000 € prize money for ET to offer an advantage in the seedings with this second international cup.
This is the last cup with the chance to earn one Top 4 seed for your team in the international qualifier for the ESL Major Series.

The Global Gaming League (GGL) announced earlier today that they have purchased the rights to make eSports an official welcome event of this summer's Beijing Olympics, in yet another huge step for eSports.

Currently recognized as an official sport in China; the GGL have been given the rights to use the Olympic Rings in their logos for advertising The Digital Games. Whilst this will not be part of the Olympics, it will coincide with the first four days of the event. The venues for the final of the event, which will have a series of national qualifiers to determine the final participants, have not yet been confirmed, but are likely to be football stadia in Shanghai. It is not yet known whether the games which will be used will be played on the PC or on consoles, nor their genres or titles.Ted Owen, CEO of the GGL, expects not only heavy media coverage but crowds to exceed those of the official Olympic events. Owen also stated that he hoped that The Digital Games could create "the ultimate elevation of gaming and the culture of gaming to the world stage", with Fong Hong, General Secretary of the China Internet Gaming Organizing Committee stating that "In the long run, we hope that video gaming becomes a formal sport throughout the world. That is the long-term vision."

Ok, so this is the final adjustment I am going to make to the ruleset for CoD4 before the tournament.
Its pretty simple, the ruleset will be the same as the previous Crossfire ruleset appart from these added functions after a successful poll:-

1. No gun sway fix - This is a server and client IWD file, that you download when connecting to a server with it enabled. It basically fixes the gun sway and means that at longer range guns shoot where you are aiming.

2. No sniper sway fix - This again is part of the IWD file and removes all sway from the sniper, but also makes it so that after each shot you unzoom, thus helping to balance the weapon.

The members of the Community rule vote have once again voted on how ETQW should be played. The biggest change this time is the decision to add ETQWPro to all matches.

The Community rules are supported by ESL, Clanbase and the top ETQW teams and will be used at the upcoming CDC LAN with a shortened maplist.

General rules:
ETQWPro must be used in all matches and all features that are included in ETQWPro are allowed or specified through cvars.

Teams are only allowed to use vehicles from one heavy vehicle spawn on all stages with more than one heavy vehicle spawn. Once a team have used a heavy vehicle from a heavy vehicle spawn they must wait until the vehicle gets destroyed and respawns before using another.

Please make sure that the ETQWpro auto record is running. Demos are required from all matches.

Heavy vehicles are not allowed during the last objective, even if you were using the vehicle during the objective was enabled. You have to leave the vehicle.

Use of 3rd Eye Camera is not allowed.

Maximum 1 Heavy Vehicle per team.
Maximum 1 Medium Vehicle per team.

Heavy Vehicles include: Cyclops, Desecrator and Titan.
Medium Vehicles include: Hog and Trojan APC.

Packard Bell have announce that in an effort to renew its commitments to the gaming community it has introduced a number of players who have been selected to form the first amateur team to compete under the Packard Bell Brand. The players have been selected to compete in both FPS and RTS tournaments and will be supported with the latest Intel-based Packard Bell iPower PCs.

The national and international qualifier for most ESL Major Series Season II games have already been started, today it is time to present you the qualification details for the Enemy Territory tournament. The Enemy Territory ESL Major Series powered by ASUS features a prize money of 1.000 € and will see Europe's best ET teams live in action. Europe's most important online tournament in 2008 is waiting for you, read on for further details.

As you may know of the ESL International Premiership Series 15 months ago, the competition is open for all of you. The qualification system consists of three different stages, starting tonight with the registration. The signups for the 1000 € competition are open from 20 CET on and will close on 07.03.08 at 19.00 CET:
