CDC4: Here come the playoffs! (Day Two)

image: header_lan
3:24 The last match for day two is coming up in a moment with Vicious and Evil facing Random in the very last ET match this night. VAE went well in the tournament and just lost against TLR in Upper Bracket before. It's the deciding match for both about keeping in or getting on it's way right now, so don't miss this late and deciding main event.

23:27 Because some people did not have been able to scoll down a few lines the Gallery and Streaming pages are actually on the front page.

22:45 ET has been going strong along side CoD4, with the big guns finally starting to show their true quality. Europe np breezed past Belgium 8 Bit-gaming and equally, Belgium EDiT made quick work of our multi-talented mix Europe Random. Both losing teams move down into the loser bracket, so it's not over yet! As we progress through the early hours of the morning, our last 8 games should be over, leaving some mouth watering prospects on our hands.

CDC4: Day One!

image: header_lan
0:31 SK vs Fnatic game
City streets (District)
The first half consisted of Germany SK trying to use their usual rush style with somewhat little affect in the early stages. They did pick up a couple of rounds but with stunning individual performances from players such as Sweden Klanne, Sweden Fnatic pulled away with a 7-3 going into the second half. Going into the second half, Sweden zsilts has really stepped up another gear with a flurry of multiple frag kills. There was a hint of a come back by SK but it was soon rumbled with the great individual performances by Fnatic.

With the score moving on to 10-7 for Fnatic, Fnatic only needed one map from three to clinch this match and they did so. It was a strange map for such an epic encounter but it gave a great insight into how the play style of both teams could prohibit/benefit them in the later stages of this tournament.

Final score : Sweden Fnatic 11 - 7 Germany SK gaming

CLUK19 on it's way !

Over the course of the coming weekend in the shadow of CDC4 will be the 19th central LAN UK (cluk19). Despite the goings on of CDC4, CLUK19 will be held at Uttoxeter Racecourse, Staffordshire. The event takes place from 29th Feb - 2nd March starting at 4pm on Friday running through until 6pm Sunday and costs just £45. It will be hosting the following tournaments

Counter-Srike: Source 5v5 with a max limit of 8 teams and a £500 prize fund.
Call of Duty4 5v5 SnD with a max limit of 8 teams and a £500 prize fund
World In Conflict 4v4 with a max limit of 5 teams and a £500 prize fund
An Expert and Medium Guitar Hero 3 fun tournament, a newly announced Audio Surf fun tournament and an eagerly anticipated Boat Race.

This LAN is certainly small but in the past 6 years it has gone from strength to strength. I realise it is no I-series or CDC4 but this LAN will be a good pre-training camp for team United Kingdom E-buyer who are signed up for the CSS tournament and the recently announced United Kingdom Team Packard Bell Cod4 team who are signed up for the Cod4 tournament.

With the wake of CDC4 I don’t expect much attention to the LAN however it is meant to be a social LAN with a competitive edge to it, and I feel it has and will achieve what it has set out to do.

Good luck to the event organiser and all teams and participants in CLUK19, and good luck to all attending CDC4.

With 114 paid participants and 8 spectators, CLUK19 will be a nice weekend LAN and good practice for upcoming LAN's such as I33 which teams participating in the tournaments will be aiming for.

CDC Improvements

Looking back on CDC3 and the feedback we got from where to improve our content offering I'm glad to say that courtesy of a concerted effort from the whole team we're able to offer a far better online experience for those on the site!

:: Courtesy of RTCW legend beav's hard work we've now got a lovely integrated cup system thats in its final stages of implementation. You can see a preview at Crossfire.nu/cup - This is not only nice and easy to navigate but also helps us with our archiving of the event, something we've not done well in the past.
:: Missing from CDC3 but a huge success at CPC2 the gallery system is back and user contributable! Belgian Wizzard Rfki has been hard at work getting this operational and anyone who is coming to the event and wants somewhere to store their photos will have a place!
:: German master chosen has greated a great new auto updating Flash box that will replace the advertisement on the front page with the latest results!
:: Haggis munching magician Pedro has been firing on all cylinders with preperation for the event and still has one more article to come. Hopefully all the communities are now fired up for the event, and if you're not Pedro will be on location to put some fire in your bellies!
:: Ravenwood will be running a server side stat application so you can keep up to date with your favourite shooters to see our their performing on LAN!
:: Community Site Challenge TV have offered to host all of our demos from the tournament and so we'll be requesting all players upload all demos of their matches to Challenge TV so you can relive the tournament again and again!

As ever your feedback is encouraged and welcomed, we hope that CDC4 is the best yet as we get the final building blocks in place. Lastly a huge thank you to all of the people involved in helping us improve the site and the LAN!
