CoDQCup Double Header Tonight on QuadV

There has been a fantastic tournament unravelling over at the CallofDuty.se CoDQCup Tournament and tonight will bring you potentially 2 of the greatest matches to date and they will all be live on QuadV.

20:00 CET Winners Bracket 4 - Dignitas 11-13 The6Devils - Crash

image: mp_crashDignitas Call of Duty legend needs no introduction, however their history books need a few more chapters with their last major win back in September 06. They have had a tricky path through so far being taken to overtime by eyeshow on Vacant and then having a close match against MYTEAM on Backlot.

The6Devils have had an eventful time reaching this stage facing the best CoD4 has to offer and shrugging them off as they go. Starting with overtime against eSuba on crossfire they then put up two dominant performances against not identified and Fnatic on Vacant and Backlot.

Will the experienced Dignitas team hold against what appears to be an unstoppable force in the form of The6Devils? Join Deman & Kee_Ring on www.quadv.com TV1 to find out.

21:30 CET Losers Bracket 4 - MYTEAM < oXmoze - Crossfire

[img|left]http://www.deman.co.uk/images/cod4/mp_crossfire.jpg[/img]MYTEAM have not had an easy time of it being taken to overtime in the first two rounds by ONTIC and emprise. They came up against a determined Dignitas team though on Backlot and narrowly lost by 13-11.

oXmoze cruised through their first round against FAP but soon found trouble in the form of Serious Gaming on Vacant, being dumped into the losers bracket 13-5. Not to be disheartened they’ve put in two strong performances against MOD, then coming through overtime against DCC on Strike.

This game looks to be one that just might head into overtime and covering this game will be Deman & Kee_Ring on www.quadv.com TV1.

Danish dynamite on its way

The danish tigers! Or should i call them Copenhagen eSports has just recruited a new swedish COD4 team.
Back when cod2 was the game, CPH had a very known team but they decided to quit due to motivational problems.

Quote by Statement from CPH playerJohan "flowsteR" LundbergAfter trying out the game for a pretty long time we have decided that Call of Duty 4 actually is a game with alot of potential. Playing with this lineup for a couple of months we've decided to give it a go. Pracice is coming.. forward and we're slowly progressing to reach the level of competetion that we are supposed to be on. We've found ourselves a nice mix of people and talent and we hope to make our team proud in upcoming events. Copenhagen esport has proven itself over and over again to be an amazing home to be in and we're happy to be a part of this organisation.

Quote by Statement from Copenhagen eSport, Janus BengtssonWe are very happy to announce our new cod4 team. They have been playing together for months now, and we have high expectations for ours swedish players. Flow is a old Cph-player in cod2, and we are happy to see him back with us. The rest of the team seems to be functioning great together, and i´m looking foreward to getting to know them better. I hope they will be happy in Copenhagen eSport, and that cod4 is going to be as great as it´s potential.

EDiT loses cod4 squad

Europe EDiT who had a long and illustrious history in Call of Duty have sad news, their cod4 squad leaves the organisation. This is due to lack of support from Team-EDiT. Some people will be more suprised about this then others who saw this coming. Other rumours are that the EDiT managent felt that the team didn't have what it takes to become a real top team. The team will continue under their old name Europe Not-Identified.

Statement United Kingdom Revoltz:
With our departure from EDiT yesterday evening, I can say that our communication wasn't superb with the key members of the management. EDiT have great potential as an organisation due to their new website and their history, but they couldn't offer us what we required and we felt that promises weren't met.

Statement United Kingdom oLi:

Lineup:
United Kingdom revoltz
Netherlands mofje
Netherlands frostyle
Netherlands toxjee
Netherlands V1oqor

Let's all hope that not-identified will not be affected by this unfortunate situation and that this won't have an impact on their cdc4 appearance.

7 million answered the call!

At the back end of 2007 a flurry of games were released with huge expectations and reputations, some fulfilled and some failed their hype regardless though gamers were out spending money in droves. However the last big title to be released, was able to pull off a John Cena like performance with just 2 months to play catch up in the 2007 and sell 7 million units.

The BBC states:

QuoteFirst-person-shooter Call of Duty 4 was last year's biggest selling game, according to sales figures.

It has sold more than seven million units since its launch in November, says its publisher Activision. The claim is based on sales figures from research firms The NPD Group, Chart Track and The GFK Group. The game was just one of a raft of high profile releases in 2007 including the third instalment of the Halo series for the Xbox 360.

Halo 3 earned more than £84m ($170m) in sales in its first 24 hours on release, according to Microsoft. The game sets the record for the most money earned in a day by an entertainment product, topping figures set by film Spiderman 3.

Royal Mess

The 4kings Call of Duty nightmare has continued today after yet another massive split in the ranks. What should be one of the flagship teams in the game and for the game has once again found itself split due to personal problems. The reasons and the results are currently pointing to a massive internal argument forcing players out, and we can confirm who has left the team:

United Kingdom Palmz
United Kingdom Pain
United Kingdom Skipz

That leaves the roster with Corp, ben and rco

Corp has given Crossfire this statement:

QuoteThe roster is again going to undergo a facelift. I'm sad to see Lee go as I liked him as a person and a player but Im happy to see the back of palmz. When we started this team he was a completely different player + person than he is now, so this team can only move forward now without him. Im confident you will be seeing us at cdc

And manager GeepaK has followed up with the following quote also;

QuoteWe have been made aware of some internal issues within the 4Kings Call of Duty 4 squad. We understand that the lineup did possess a large number of characters which inevitably conflicted. The conclusion is that we will be addressing the issues head on to decided the way forward

This troubled roster has again come under the spotlight again for all the wrong reasons, whether Corp can steady the ship is about to be seen however the managements patience has to have been tested with numerous top teams recently having been available, the opportunities missed by supporting a very troubled teams may cost 4kings their chance at success in Enschede.

CDC4 PAM Rule set

For those of you using the current version 3 crossfire config, there are only a few minor changes. All the relevant changes can be found after the jump.

CoDQCUP result rollercaster

image: codqcup_291x105

The allstar cast that has taken to the field for the CoDQCUP have done battle in thrilling circumstances and with that have produced a field of upsets as the European CoD sides start to settle into some form of an order, or at least we thought so.

CrossfireQCUP winners and the newest members of the G7, Fnatic.CoD went down in a blaze of glory to german outfit The6Devils and in some style also, a 13-5 scoreline was to be the swedes undoing, their first defeat in CoD4. In another top clash, CoD2 titans TeK-9 and Serious Gaming went at it with WSVG champs TeK-9 taking the win, 13-10.

The other quarter finals that are to be played in the winners bracket see Dignitas take on Portuguese stars MYteam and XciteUK take on neophyte. There is of course a loser bracket which courtesy of a fully loaded tournament has some huge names in it waiting for their chance, DIE & Oxmoze two of the form sides down there.

All in all a great CoDQCUP is coming to the business end of the tournament and theres alot of fun still to be had! You can find the whole bracket HERE.

At the moment it looks like we may cancel the Warsow tournament but that will be taken under advisement in the coming days. On the lighter side of the news, each event I call HSBC and ask them to list every payment thats come in and there are always a few names/jokes that make the teller crack up. This events award goes to Bathing Ape for the name, and zerender for his message "Drugs and Weapons LOL".

If you are a team wanting to replace another team, now would be a good time to email tosspot at gmail dot com.
