AuX folded , HighBot is back !

image: aqzhosf4h03iktqdw

After 8 months of AuxiliA.ET, the clan stated today that it is not possible for them to send a team to the
Crossifre Devotii Challange 3. This was a huge disappointment for the members of AuxiliA.ET at first.
But as we see our chances quite good for reaching Top5 at CDC3 - we decided to travel on our own.
Back under the name of our very own clan HighBot we will try to attack once more.
The sponsor spickmich.de will stay with us along our journey and try to support us as good as possible, also regarding
the Enlarged IV Lan in Germany.

CDC3 Invites/Qualifiers

image: cdc3banner

It has been an exciting month since registration opened for the Crossfire Devotii Challenge - and we're happy to report that we've been overwhelmed by both the positive feedback, and the impressive number of signups for all three tournaments. We've players spanning two continents and over 15 nations all eager to compete in what should prove to be an amazing event.

Initially, I can announce that the Qpad Quake 3 CPM 1v1 tournament has been increased from 8 to 12 players. This is thanks to the excellent scheduling skills of Adacore, and the quality of the players signed up. It would be a crime not to accommodate such an excellent field of competitors.

And so it's with great pleasure, and after careful consideration Crossfire can announce the invites for the Crossfire Devotii Challenge 3.

hMg presenting fresh ET:QW team

Quote"hardMethod Gaming is pleased to announce that we have secured the services of a ET: Quake Wars team. They were known as Netherlands Team Beyond. This team has alot of potential to compete with the top of Europe."

hardMethod.ETQW lineup:
Netherlands Jesse 'Lukos' Huijskes
Netherlands Daan 'Longbow' Stelder
Netherlands Simon 'ViPer' Nolden
Netherlands Thomas 'Janus' Bernink
Belgium Bart 'Jaede' Van Remortele
Sweden Martin 'dohfOs' Lundén
Sweden Erik 'Guru' Staffans
United Kingdom Adam 'adP' Parkes
Germany Alexander 'merola' Merola

hMg Co-Chief Executive Officer Belgium Pavo gave the following statement:
Quote"It is with great pleasure that i can welcome the ETQW team to hMg. This team has a great attitude to move forward and becoming better. I'm confident that they will succeed. We look forward to working with this team and hopefully it's a long term agreement."

Player of the new ETQW team Netherlands ViPer gave the following statement:
Quote"I'm very happy that hMg invited us to be their Enemy Territory: Quake Wars squad, especially before the game has even hit the shelves. After talking to Pavo for a couple of days we came to an agreement that we think will benefit both parts. I truly believe hMg will give us the right support. Some of us old BF2-players knew Pavo from before so we know we can trust him. With the release of the actual game just ahead of us we have much to look forward to and I'm sure we can accomplish great things both online and offline wearing the hMg-tag!"

The lineup is rather big with its 9 players but that's pretty much due to the fact we're still in the beta-phase. The lineup consist mostly of old BF2, CoD and CSS-players. Best accomplishment so far is the 4th place in the 4on4 cup hosted by The Last Resort where we lost vs. Japan lolicon in the Bronze-final. In the CB Beta Cup we were knocked out in the quarterfinals by the runner-up's Germany cause after having to play with just 5 due to vacation issues. However the team does hope for more achievements in the shortly due cups.

id Software announces details on Quake 5 Arena with Gameriot.com's Slasher

Id Software's Executive Producer Marty Stratton sits down with GameRiot.com's United States of America Rod "Slasher" Breslau about the new Quake game as well as Quake Zero, and how Quake Zero's development process will effect the next Quake game. Did I mention that the next Quake game will be an Arena game a true follow-up to Quake 3? Well, I did now. Marty discusses many details about the upcoming new Arena title and how id Software will be making leaps and bounds in matchmaking, balancing, testing and the use of professional Quake players in their aid. Also discussed is the current view on professional gaming, professional Quake players, and how the focus on the next Arena game will be in terms of a sport.

Marty Stratton: "On a high level, it'll be very much like Quake 3 Arena in that it's fast paced, primarily a dueling game but will have team aspects to it. High action, high energy, likely built on id Tech 5, and stylistically from just about every aspect including user interfaces, scoreboards and stats, we will be thinking of the game in terms of a sport. That means different things to a lot of different people but that's the core of what we want."

CDC3 Tournament revisions

After careful consideration and reviewing of the signups plus taking a look at the event at large the Crossfire Devotii Challenge 3 Part 3 will drop ET:Quakewars in favour of larger ET and WSW events and will run a larger Quakewars at a future Challenge event, as a result the tournaments and prize monies will be changed to the following;

Wolfenstein ET 24 Teams - 6000 Euros

The tournament will feature 8 groups of 3 teams the top two progressing into a double elimination bracket. The bottom team will be entered into a single elimination tournament. Prize payouts will pay the following denominations; 2300, 1500, 1000, 700, 500 from 1st to 5th. As a result, the qualifiers will be significantly smaller, if at all and teams should already start looking into their travel arrangements. (Prize Purse subject to signups)

Warsow 24 Players - 1500 Euros

The format for the tournament hasn't been confirmed yet and will be announced in the following days.

Quake 3 CPM 8 Players - 1000 Euros

Double Elimination bracket for 8 players, this format remains unchanged

As a reminder for teams wishing to signup for Part 1 for the above three games, signups are drawing to a close on August 12th so teams and players should get their signups in quickly!

Kreaturen return

One of the oldest names in RTCW has returned to competitive action recently and today has finalised its lineup for CDC3. Kreaturen's name is most famous for its silver medal in RTCW Eurocup XIII and numerous endeavours into ET and its Eurocups.

They return with this lineup;

Netherlands BuLL
Netherlands M1lk
Netherlands teKoa
Netherlands Lun4t1C
Netherlands Azz0r
Switzerland gifty

Latest recruit and Kreaturens first ever swiss player, gifty had this to say;

QuoteAs I can speak for the whole team, we are all very excited about the following weeks. Old players like Lun4t1C are back, with motivation to come far the LAN, and thats exactyle what we need. Afterall we hope we can take the advantage with us, that the other 5 players have been playing together for ages, so the teamplay should be already quite far. We'll of course aim for the first place places, means we have to use our remaining time as good as possible to give the standing favourites a good fight, where we want to come out as winners!
