ClanBase launches 5v5 ET ladder

image: 5v5nstuffJust a few days after the announcement that ClanBase would shift their entire 6v6 competition over to 5v5, a matching ladder has been announced.

Working just like any other ClanBase competition ladder, the 5v5 ladder will give clans the chance to thrash each other on the way to the top with five-a-side. With a new set of rules and a config expected in coming weeks, the ladder will aim to crown the first ever King of 5v5.

To help kick off the ladder, GamesTV.org will be showcasing a handful of matches to give users a real unbiased insight into the world of 5v5.

You can find the ladder here. Sign up by logging into ClanBase then use Admin - Ladders & Cups to sign your clan up.

Check6 defy ALL odds and take Eurocup XIII

Check6 the team that could not take 1st place for love nor money, and were locked in 2nd in every tournament. Have won the Call of Duty 2 Eurocup 13.
Lead by Crossfire's Liam "Crow" Crowley the side defeated Eurocup 10, 12 and TeK-9 cup winners Germany Speedlink to book a winners bracket final place against Dignitas. In a battle to the death, in TRIPLE overtime, it was Check6 that overcame the pressure and the odd's to send Dignitas down into the Eurocup losers bracket, where they faced a TeK-9 side bouyed by their victory over Speedlink.

Check6 took second in last seasons Eurocup, losing to none other than Speedlink in the grand final and were condemned to second place once more, just like they were at Netgamez. After a hard fought Eurocup season, Check6 became the first team to beat both Dignitas and Speedlink online. However in a shocking turn of dramatic events inside the Check6 management organisation, the side was left with no option but to disband. Down but not out, crow reformed his side, he'd lost all of his old team mates and was going to have to beat them in their new teams to take Eurocup Gold, that he did!

Dignitas coming from the losers bracket needed to beat Check6 twice. Things started out well for the Crossfire PrizeFight Challenge winners as they picked up Dawnville one of their stronger maps with relative ease. Onto Toujane it went and memories of Check6 vs Speedlink in Eurocup 12 came flooding back.
Check6 soared into 12-3 lead at the halftime and were in a commanding position. However, just like last season against ze germans, Check6 let the lead slip and it was Dignitas that seemingly had victory in the bag. However, with the luck of the irish, Check6 pulled back into an overtime that had all the hallmarks of last seasons final. Dignitas took the first round in OT, but after that it was all one way traffic and Check6 came out victorious!

Poles strike back!

image: dupayq1

Two months ago a new fully Polish team was born and started playing under the auspices of Team Delta. In that short time they have shown us what they are made of and have achieved some impressive results, including placing 2nd in OC 3v3 Premier League, qualifying to the CPC LAN and ESL First Stage. Even though the ET players were given a relatively decent support, Team Delta weren't able to fulfil all of their promises and some days ago their ET division thought it was the right time to leave. Now this one of the top European ET teams and probably the best Polish ET squad is known as diversus! Feel free to support these Polskis!

Current line-up:

Poland Przemyslaw 'buzka' Blazejewski
Poland Damian 'chester' Lankocz
Poland Patryk 'gotti' Bujak
Poland Michal 'kot' Staszewski
Poland Grzegorz 'nrs' Pyka
Poland Krystian 'oic' Sitek
Poland Adam 'rio' Stepien
Poland Mateusz 'majcok' Majchrzyk [PR]

Below you can find a short statement from kot:

We've left Team Delta because of several misunderstandings with their management. While we're still very grateful for the support we were once given, the difference of opinions between them and us turned out to be too big to continue the cooperation. We've decided to leave them and play on our own, thus being completely independent and aware of our situation. The line-up will not undergo any changes and we'll still be aiming to get some nice results!

CoD2-EuroCup XIII Grand Final Tonight

The EuroCup XIII Lan Finals kicked off yesterday morning in Aarhus, Denmark and it was a day of shocks and surprises for many. Check Six were the heroes of the day, taking down both Speedlink in Dignitas but Tek-9 pulled off an upset as well, sending Speedlink home from the Lower Bracket in an intense match. Nobody expected so much from these teams as they both had recently undergone major lineup changes and Check Six in particular had only played as a team for just over two weeks.

Today sees Dignitas face off against Tek-9 on mp_dawnville to fight for a spot in the Grand Final later this evening against Check Six. Coming from the Upper Bracket, Check Six will have the advantage of only needing to win one map but with the way the tournament has gone so far who knows what will happen? It has been an incredible tournament so far and even if you don't play CoD2 you should head over to GGL and Gotfrag to check out all the VODs and match reports from the games.

This is XX clan's second and final fragmovie,
Quote I love movie editing and I recently mastered some new programs, so I thought I'd put my new talent to practise.

The movie contains an Intro/outro, 3 frag parts, objective part and a little trailer for fun. The frags are not against high skilled teams so try not to be disappointed that there aren't many huge killing sprees, but instead focus on the editing.

Warleagues Decision [Final]

image: top_logo

First of all I would like to inform everyone that after my usual Summer stop, I returned back. WL.com re-offered me back the job of Game Admin for Warleagues.com and I have accepted it. So please if you have any problems do not hesitate to contact me or my Co-Sup :BelgiumSkeiz

Anyway, we go to the idea of 5v5 or 6v6. As you all know yesterday, United Kingdom[CB]Adacore, has made a joint announcement between Clanbase.com and Warleagues.com. It is true that I gave permission for the announcement but due to misinformation. I was informed by one of the CB Supervisors that both CB and ESL are moving to 5v5, therefore I had no option rather than that to say Yes, put our name too please. However when I saw that ESL was not adhering to this, I asked Germanychosen about his decision and then I was told that CB did not inform him about this decision.

In this light I turned back on my fellow admins, and we discussed it for a whole day, whilst trying to organise meetings between the 3 game supervisors in the 3 leagues, SpaindoneX for CB, Germanychosen for ESL and myself. However this had lead to nowhere, infact it didn't even start, and basically Warleagues.com had to decide between us.

We know that our decision is going to influence alot the community, and it is a 50-50 risk. May we remind everyone that all the 3 organisations do this for the love of organising a community, we do this as a service. No one of us gets a Euro in his pocket! So please whatever decision the 3 of us decide, don't flame, but try to understand that we do these changes for your own good!.

Anyway, after all the discussions, and reading almost all the comments and discussing with important people in the GamesTV.org crew, such as Germanyarni, GermanyFlyingDJ and Netherlandsbullvox amongst others, the Warleagues.ET Crew decided that in the best of Community, we stick to 6v6. This decision has been done in the light that according to the comments and reaction received, we think that ET can still get another season for 6v6.

We are still discussing what's going to happen with configs. So we will keep you updated about these later on.

Another addition is that we are going to change the league to make it much faster without the need of playing 2 games at one week. Changes to the wildcard system will follow as well. Keep your eyes open.

We hope that this decision is taken good by the community, and we also hope that the relations with CB and ESL will remain both very good, for and I repeat, the benefit of the community

Good morning, vietnam!

Before something is going to die, you have to do your best to revive it and to keep it alive and kickin'. After a night is gone when everyone had enough time to think about 5on5, it's now going to get in it's final decision.

Neither WL or CB came up to us before this was announced, therefore, we will stay with the majority of the community, even if it can change everyday.

[img|left]http://www.webstylestudio.de/xfire/icons/cb.jpg[/img]There are currently no valid reasons given for changing our beloved game to a lower player amount just because someone thinks he's the boss out there. We, as the ESL, tested the 5on5 stuff in january with our 5on5 3-days-left cup.
The sTREETFIGHTERS gained the first place by beating riZe. Now, clanbase announced there very own game mode according to the change, warleagues followed.

The community gave the clanbase the power with this vote.
But also, the community made different votes against 5on5 - Overall the result was quite easy: 3 votes on crossfire and everytime over 60% against 5on5 in the last 2 months.

As result of this and the history of 5on5 in the ESL and on crossfire (columns, articles and much more in the end of 2005 / early 2006), we have decided to not follow the clanbase and making this game 5on5 without any background or valid reasons.

[img|left]http://www.webstylestudio.de/xfire/icons/esl.jpg[/img]
The ESL is not concerned with forcing the leagues or tournaments to the 5on5 size. Therefore all future events like the present International Premiership Series will stay in the 6on6 team size.

You can change our decision, of course. That is why a new poll was created because your opinion counts.

[*] Feel free to place your vote. [*]
For 5on5 or 6on6 in the ESL.
ET-Cup vote

image: cupsAlso, other leagues announced they will stay at 6on6 as long as the community wants it. It's on you to decide for the last time, after sleeping over the decision by ClanBase and Warleagues to take 5on5 for ET. If not, these leagues and cups will support you playing 6on6:
