CoD - Gotfrag previews the CPC

Over at Gotfrag, Liam Crowley has written an indepth preview of the CoD2 tournament in this weekend's Crossfire PrizeFight Challenge. It includes a detailed look at each of the groups and a run down of the teams likely to challenge for first place.

Here is a small sample from the article...

QuoteAfter a long wait we are now only days away from what promises to be one of the biggest events for Call of Duty 2 so far this year. Featuring 12 of the very best European teams and held in the state of the art TGS Rotterdam, the Crossfire PrizeFight Challenge is almost upon us. Rivalries will be renewed as the beautiful city of Rotterdam plays host to the likes of Speedlink, Dignitas, digitalMind and more. With the last spot filled today after the announcement that Webone were unable to attend it looks like the stage is set for an action packed weekend.

The teams will be competing for a total prize purse of €3,000, one of the largest we've seen so far. We are likely to be given a good indication of who's in form as the EuroCup Lan Finals approach with both Speedlink and Dignitas in attendance. Both these teams performed well at the Outpost Lan last month and Speedlink in particular will need to avoid slipping up here if they are to maintain their aura of invincibility for the EuroCup Lan. Dignitas on the other hand will have to prove that their 2nd place placing at Outpost was no fluke and hopefully their recent victory at i28 will have helped their new lineup gel. Losing Qwerty in particular will be a big blow to the team as he was, along with Raz, a key figure for Dignitas at the Outpost Lan.

1 SPOT IN ET TOURNAMENT

Team Delta have unfortunately announced today that they will not be travelling to Rotterdam this weekend. Due to complications with their travel sponsor the poles have now dropped from the tournament completely.

This leaves one spot open to any team that can attend, this is again being done on a first come first served basis, please contact me in #Crossfire if you would like the place in the last ET lan of 2006!

We know that there are alot of spectators expected to attend, and that there was more interest in the rewind spot, so if you want it come and get it. There are no restrictions in place for this team.

Update
Belgium cZar have taken the spot

Update #2
Netherlands NWA Have taken the CoD2 Spot

The Bots back in Enemy Territory

image: et_a
After a long period without play we are going to be active again.

The old Europe HighBot.et team, which lost very unfortunately against kujuneb.ee in the EuroCup XIII qualification, will be reformed step by step.
Its the team around Team-Cpt. Fatih fireBall H. and Players like Daniel humM3L M. Sascha criatura B. & MateuZ z3R0 W. who will be back in the ET business and hopefully they will find a return to their old skill-level.

At the moment there are no real goals set by the team but as you can see by cups like #vib-cup, TEK||Cup or the IPS, we are on the best course to re-establish ourselves in the ET community.
Regarding the xfire.lan event, its a bit too late, but we wish all the teams the best of luck in Rotterdam.

Crossfire PrizeFight Challenge Schedule

Based on yesterday's announcement of seeds and poules, today sees the full match schedule announced for the matches that are known.

We are proud to announce that Inside the Game will be providing a live video stream from the event, and that GamesTV.org will be both on site and online bringing what only they can and that is of course ETTV!
The video stream from iTG will be using the Octoshape Peer to Peer streaming technology, which had its test run this weekend with the Games Convention Stream and i28 from which the feedback was fantastic.

All teams are reminded to check The CPC Guide for information regarding rules and travel. Teams must check in 45 Minutes before their matches, so if you start at 9.30 or 10.00 make sure you have an easy Friday night :)
