Zeropoint with major changes

image: zpbw2

The international topclan of Europe zeroPoint! Gaming, already known in Day of Defeat, HALO and in the past already with Call of Duty, made some great additions to their organisation.

zP! released their new Enemy Territory and Call of Duty 2 teams some seconds ago.

The new Enemy Territory team around the captain Netherlands rbnt will be a part of the upcoming season including top names in their roster, he had the following to say:
QuoteThe team is very pleased with joining up with an organisation such as zeroPoint. Not only does zP offer us the support we need to reach our goals such as contending at the Xf-LAN, but this step will also mean a huge performance boost for our team. Our first few weeks have gone buy quietly, as we have not been able to practice much due to vacation time, but this is certainly going to change. We will be praccing as much as possible to reach the level worthy of the zeroPoint brand, also known as the top.

Sweden Calle `APaX` Stern, who is part of the zeroPoint management team, released a statement, why they have picked up their first Enemy Territory Squad:
QuoteSince the ClanBase EuroCups were announced we have had an eye on the European Enemy Territory scene and together in the management we have discussed the possible addition of a Enemy Territory team to the zeroPoint! Gaming organization.

After a 4-0 victory over United Kingdomcdap-oddjob and 2 forfeit wins against Estoniaidle.ee and Europe3hs in the groupstage, PolandPolewka proceeded on to secure their place in the final with 4-0 victories over PolandLogitech, AndorraTWK and this season's 3on3 opencup 3rd place EuropeHighbot.

GermanysTREETFIGHTERS' way to the final consisted of a 4-0 victory over SlovakiaesVka, a 4-2 victory over EuropeSuperStars and a forfeit over Finland#Murso in the groupstage. In a close match, GermanysTREETFIGHTERS took the second spot in the finals with a score of 5-3.

Polewka's clanleader Polandkot gave the following statement:

QuoteWell, I think that we stand a pretty good chance of winning this final if we manage to practise as much as needed. We've already played a few matches against sF and I know that they're strong, but certainly not unbeatable. I'm not going to make any predictions though, since the match could really go either way.

The final match of this season promises to be an exciting one so make sure you don't miss it. Good Luck to both teams participating!

EuroCup Final Preview

image: idle

Belgium Maidrion Web Director of Estonia idle.ee page has just made wonderful coverage about upcoming final of most prestigious ClanBase cup - EuroCup. It consists match predictions by United Kingdom Angrykid, Sweden LoTiX, Germany pumu and many others. It also contains tale about all idle.ee players which will play in finals and full way trough EuroCup group stage and playoffs.

Here's some part of news:
QuoteIt's been a while since the team of Dignitas won the first ever EC back in 2004. Ever since then we saw Saevus, u96d and uQ-Gaming (Parodia) consecutively taking the throne. Many players have stepped up to glory to vanish in obscurity not long after. Yet a few names have always been around. Their former clans will certainly ring a bell with the average ET player. Seven of them are all bundled in one team, fighting under the idle.ee name.

Belgium Maidrion did really grat job out there and text is really worth reading. It can give you nice view about upcoming final which will take place on Tuesday 25th at 21:00 CET.

You can read it here at idle.ee page.

KiH Quakecon Comeback

RTCW legends Quakecon bound

It’s official, Knö i Hörn are going to Quakecon! They’ll make up the trio of European teams in attendance.

A Nordic double act of ex-KiH RTCW superstars “smutzig” and “FeTTe” provide the backbone for this team. With “mAx”, “gifty” and “kris” plugging the gaps.

This announcement comes as a shock, with both mAx and FeTTe perusing careers in Quake4 – but with their initial honey moon over neither has overly impressed. Like any ‘pro’ – they’ve gone where the money is, and aim on taking home a share of $15000.

KiH Quakecon Roster:

[*] Switzerland gifty
[*] Sweden smutzig
[*] Sweden FeTTe
[*] Netherlands kris
[*] Belgium mAx

With mAx already attending to compete in the Quake 4 1v1 tournament with idle.ee’s Quake 4 squad this was an opportunity too good to miss.

I caught up with ex-Northern Darkness player kris, to fill us in on the details.

Quake 3 Selected for CPL World Season

image: cplwinter2006
Whilst being absolutely nothing to do with this site in general, The CPL has given hope to all gamers out there today with the surprise decision to revert from Quake 4 back to Quake 3.

In an astonishing vote of no confidence in iD's and Raven's latest offering, the people who brought you the Painkiller are now about to bring you Quake 3, arguably the most successful death match game to date.

To quote The CPL:

QuoteThis decision was made after the following votes were submitted:

The CPL tournament staff - 90% in favor of Quake 3
The CPL world partners - 90% in favor of Quake 3
The CPL 1v1 committee - 85% in favor of Quake 3
The gamers (that voted on the CPL poll) - 80% in favor of Quake 3
The decision to host Quake 3 competitions was made based on existing features in Quake 3 that will enable the CPL to focus on providing the best tournament experience for both competitors and spectators.

In the coming weeks ID software will release the latest of the Quake 4 patches, the one that has been dubbed as the way the game should have been released, adding many gameplay features found in...Quake 3.

So, what next? Will we seeing RTCW or ET replacing counterstrike? Its possibly not too far fetched as George of the CPL has once been quoted as saying it would be his dream to see RTCW at a CPL event.

Activision Nordic meets callofduty.se Community

image: toker_atvi1

In the first week of August is Johnny 'toker' Törnvall from Callofduty.se going to a meeting with Activision Nordic. On this meeting there will be discussions about the future of COD2.

Because of this toker wants the community to present him with questions he in turn should present this Activison representant.

Regarding CoD2TV specific questions:*updated
The CoD2TV question about could it be made has allready been stated from toker and his co-workers.
What Activision would like to know about this matter is how it should function. What functions do you want from CoD2TV? Try to be accurate on your describings when it comes to this field so that toker can have an array of specifications allready in august.

In order for him to do this in an orderd fashion, he asks the team to have 1 (one) representative to send him 1 (one) . Again toker hopes that not every clan member will send him an email each, however if you are not a member of any clan you are offcorse also welcome to send him questions regarding CoD2

Sadly there will be no official forum for this norr an IRC channel where you can discuss questions.
E-mail: toker [a] callofduty.se
Please respect his wishes and don't spam him on IRC etc.

Hopefully Toker with the backing of Callofduty.se and the CoD2 community can make this a first step towards cooperation between Activision/InfintyWard and the community.

Useful xfire LAN info

Many of you wonder about how to get to the xfire Lan, which is going to be held on the 2nd and 3rd of september 2006, and about places to sleep, so I've lined up some information for everyone as to not spam the entire site with numerous journals of questions. If you have more questions after reading this, ask them here and I will try to update this news item with the answers.

The Location
image: 439833-Cubic_houses_Kubus_woningen-RotterdamAs you all know the location of the Xfire Lan is The Game Syndicate, or TGS for short. The venue is quite easy to recognize since it's located underneath the famous Yellow CubeHouses.

KEEP IN MIND! This lan is NOT BYOC, so do NOT bring your own computer with you since there is simply no room for it.

Getting There

It's quite easy to reach by public transportation. All of the possibilities (train, metro, tram, bus) can be taken to reach Station Blaak.

ET about to be Enlarged!

The Enemy Territory community has seen the announcement of two big LAN events in recent weeks, but there is another one to pay attention to, and it's going to take place this week: Enlarged, for years the number one ET LAN in Germany, is going to host its third edition this weekend in Alsfeld, Germany. There are a lot of well known players there, a big tournament for ET and a smaller one for RTCW, so it should be worth taking a look at what's going to happen, where it's going to happen and who's taking part.

The location is a large event hall in Alsfeld, Germany. 800 is the maximum number of players which can get a seat there and at the moment, a little less than 700 have signed up and paid the entrance fee of 32 Euros.
[img|left]http://www.enlarged.de/ext_inc/location/1_klein.jpg[/img]
A massive number of tournaments has been announced, not only will there be an ET tourney but the NGL Silver Finals for CS:S, CoD2, Q4 and other games will take place there, so the LAN is sure to get some attention.

A small trailer to give you some first impression can be found here: http://www.enlarged.de/?mod=downloads&action=details&dlid=84
