stronger than Helix !!!

ClanBase ladder matches, they're of no importance right? Played by mere peons not good enough for the Cups...well tonight Matthew, for a second time, let’s extinguish this myth.

stronger than hate must once again fight off the challengers as ClanBase European ladder leaders. Their opposition, a hard working blend of German efficiency confident after recent victories over sth. Team Helix are the only team to have beaten sth in a CB official since they formed back in March 2005.

Since the departure of mesQ1 and razz after their Eurocup escapades Team Helix have been quietly building up their new team, getting matches under their belt and shaking off the 2 week tag. Recently finishing 4th in last Sundays Get-Cup, being knocked out by Europe uQ Gaming in the quarter finals.

Whereas stronger than hate are a large caldron of Europe's best, a skilful mix led by self-pronounced publicity whore FroZzeN. Their roster boasts members from one4one, team-beta, idle.ee, uQ, Goliath and IDKFA to name but a few. But can several big names make a team? Tune in tonight at 21:00 CET to find out.

Round 1: adlernest_b7c
Round 2: supplydepot2

Round 4: braundorf_b4

Since the clanbase matches are played with etpro 3.2.5 we decided to follow them, so you have to use the „new“ etpro for the cup matches and our ladder games.
Get etpro3.2.5

You dont have to add everyone of your team at the cuppage, but it would be nice if you do so.
The same thing with the Guids.

United Kingdom uQ-Gaming.Ati (Winner of the last cup) had the following to say:

Enemy Territory @ Qcon '06

Giving Enemy Territory another run…

I did not have the pleasure of going to Quakecon ’05 because I had some real life issues arise however I rooted from my home PC, and with the wonderful ETTV coverage I never missed a match. It was an exciting tournament aside from the issues regarding the amount of teams that actually showed up. Although the last ET tournament had its issues, it was still incredibly fun and it brought a huge increase of activity and participation in the North American Enemy Territory scene, bringing back many RTCW teams and old school ET players, which in my opinion was the greatest thing to happen to both the North American, European, and even Australian ET Scenes. There were teams from US, Canada, Estonia, and Australia including so many more in the qualifiers.

All in all, I think if the setup is revamped a little bit to give teams time to get either sponsored or the money together, making sure teams that qualify actually are planning to attend, it will be more successful. Last season multiple NA teams got knocked out by EU teams in the qualifiers, which some had no plans on attending at all, and in conclusion resulted in not all 16 tournament spots being filled with the best possible qualifying teams. For example, North American team Commie Bastards played European team Zero Barrier, and after the Commies had been beaten they had been knocked out and had lost all interest in the game, and therefore the team fell apart. Zero Barrier wouldn’t have been able to find the sponsors in time. Given the right amount of time, teams like eSrael, parodia, saevus, and iNfensus may have been able to participate.

In conclusion, if Enemy Territory is at Quakecon ’06 a huge amount of both teams and players would come back from “retirement” because there is money involved. This would most likely be Enemy Territory’s last chance at being at a LAN event and because by next Quakecon RTCW2 will most likely be out. Having Enemy Territory as a tournament game would really put the game at its peak once more, as this seems to be ET’s last year.

Belgian Powerhouse raised

Over the years of ET we have seen some great belgian players. But we have never seen a full belgian line up until this day ! A belgian farmer named lio came up with the idea. I was thinking about some suittable players for the team. Then I saw a baby on television and he immediately reminded me to mesq ( who decided to join his 10256 clan ) I decided that it would be me taking over the legendary rifle role. After, the best darts player of belgium applied, acid. And yes he stays home from school to get some superskilled 3v3s.
We then went and acquired 2 slowminded friends in after, nobody was even asking why snot suddenly wanted to join when dNzl Washington got in. Who doesn't wanna play with the US president ... Another 2 belgian gays decided to join when they saw this orgy ( at last they could get some rl sex ) named guest, for the first time in history he managed to hold his name longer than 2 weeks and Kevin who certainly inspired his name from one of the most famous songs in belgian called "hallo Kevin hallo". And so the fellowship of the xtrazone started their road for ... 2 weeks image: xtrazone

Official line up:

Belgium lio ( captain + ex-uQ )

Belgium mesq ( ex-helix )
Belgium guest ( ex-iGods )
Belgium Kevin ( ex-iGods )
Belgium acid ( ex-mycruz )
Belgium snot ( ex-pstarZ )
Belgium dNzl ( ex-pstarZ )

Belgium Trix ( as our manager )

New uQ lineup finalised

image: testWhen uQ-Gaming announced they were to search for a replacement team for their EuroCup winning side of Drc, jafo, jauhis, mystic, Raveneye, saintt and Xpaz, silently we all knew that the task was going to be extremely difficult, if not nigh-on impossible to replace a group of players of that calibre.

First we had mesqi's (363rd) clan suc6 step up to the challenge. "2 Weeks" came the call, perhaps predicably, but infact there came a suprise result! The team lasted from Feb 2nd to March 7th,.. thats...surely not? But yes, the team had at least lasted a month. It soon became apparent things weren't working out. Results had been less than brilliant, and mesqi was itching to find another clan (# 364 was so close!). Step forward intellec, lead by ziff, but lets pretend it was the pint-sized (but oh so loveable) razz. Within just a week, the side had won the 1 day GET Cup.

But things still weren't happy in the uQ tree-house, oh no. Steps have been taken again to modify the lineup, in a move which the team clearly see as one that adds strength and depth. However, only time will tell the fate of this new-look uQ side. The lineup now goes something like this:

Scotland razz
Hungary senti
Germany second
Belgium zeto
Belgium ziff
Croatia Zlinko
Netherlands Ati_

Whatever the outcome, best of luck to all involved :>

ClanBase ETPro Change

image: logo_etproSource: ClanBase

Moving to the future and incorporating the various bug changes, fixes and glorious additions of ETPro is a move normally taken at the start of each ClanBase season. However, as from today all ClanBase Enemy Territory matches must be played on ETPro 3.2.5. While remaining NC groups phase matches can be played on 3.2.4, all playoff matches must use 3.2.5.

The current season config is still to be used.

Those classy folks over at vpclan.de have hosted ETPro 3.2.5 which you can get here.

First-Person Tactical' Mod Released

A rather revolutionary modification named 'ET: Tactics' has seen first light, a mod which transforms the first-person shooter game "Enemy Territory" into a so-called First-Person Tactical Game.

image: JoshuaZaedynMenke
Joshua 'Zaedyn' Menke
The creator of the mod, Joshua "Zaedyn" Menke, wants to achieve a game where only teamwork and tactics focusing on the objectives will determine the outcome of the game. With this in mind, Zaedyn has removed the "aiming" factor completely from the game.

"Like RPGs, RTT and even Real-Time Strategy games, the computer will do the aiming. You just look in the general direction of the target and fire. This will make aiming easier for some and harder for others. But the same all around," the computer science graduate student said.

An integrated server-side aimbot will use in-game aspects such as distance to target, weapon, experience points and battle-sense to determine the likelihood of actually hitting your opponent. This will diminish the effects of any strafing, dodging and manual aiming when calculating headshots.

image: EnemyTerritory
Enemy Territory
Additionally, each team will have one commander assigned, who will be able to look around on the maps just like regular spectators. However, his "all-seeing" ability, to see the enemy positions is restricted to the field of sights of its players in combat.

It will be interesting to see whether this revolutionary mix between RPG and FPS will be accepted by the Enemy Territory community.

A ET:Tactics test server is setup at irc.bpark3.com:5123.
