Little nationscup feeling?

Do you remember the times of the Atlantic Battle? Thirty minute fullholds at the old city flag with 150+ ping were a great spectator magnet back then. The last nationscup was quite some time ago and very little points towards a new season with the prestigious and gamesaving 6on6 format. And still the first match on GamesTV's upcoming matches catched my interest as quite unfamiliar teamnames appear: Chile vs Australia

Chile Chile and Australia Australia state that they have decided to catch up to this match for the wooden spoon award in NationsCup XIII's Group C, which never happened due to earthquakes in Chile lats year.

The last time these two faced each other was the Crossfire Nationscup in 2008 where Chile sent Australia home with a dominant 4-0 victory. Now give these two some credit and join me on the nationscup train for this Pacific Battle!

The 2011 World Cyber Games takes place from December 8-11th in Korea, Republic of Busan, South Korea. #ET.Gather - Enemy Territory channel

At the behest of Belgium Goku, it's my job to inform you that #ET.Gather is back! One of Enemy Territory's oldest IRC channels has returned to activity and is the ideal place to play Enemy Territory over the festive holiday period. To join in all you have to do is join the channel and !add yourself! The channel has been active again since this past Saturday under the watchful eyes of Belgium Goku and Estonia Edgar. All of the servers and teamspeak are provided by NBS and YCN-Hosting.

Everyone loves ET.Gather:

Quote by perfoazatej, tekoa & I have been playing in #ET.Gather for almost 5 years now. It's great fun to play under new names and get accused of cheating - but they don't know they're playing against the God of ET! :D

TZAC on the Rocks?

image: tzac

It has come to light that the future for TZAC and what has become a cleaner gaming experience for most Enemy Territory players could be hitting some bad times after it was revealed unless TZAC creator Tomislav 'chaplja' Zubcic finds a suitable business partner the project may well have to be shut down.

QuoteThere is too much work and time involved and if I don't find a way to generate some half-normal revenue from the site and the whole project, I am going to close it. There were a few offers that would secure some monthly income, but so far nobody was serious enough to make a clear offer on what they want, expect and give back.

TZAC has expanded into other popular titles like Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty 2 and it seems a large portion of the online FPS community now rely on the anti-cheat. TZAC 2.0 is currently in production but with the future of the project blurred, it may not see the light of day.

This Week in Gaming - November 29-6th

Each week I plan to cover the past week's latest news surrounding the world of gaming, including major tournament results, headline gaming news & headlines and notable games releases and updates.

Gaming News

EA might have the worst customer support of any publisher in the world but that doesn't stop their triple AAA titles from selling! Battlefield 3 sales have reached over 8 million. And while on the topic of AAA shooters, Modern Warfare 3 has been given a run for it's money by sandbox indie game Terraria, for the most played games on steam. The following graph are the player stats for the two games, with Terraria in yellow and Modern Warfare multi-player in blue:

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Terraria, it's essentially a 2D equivalent of Minecraft, only there is less emphasis on building and more emphasis on exploration and combat, with RPG elements sprinkled in.

JeeSports Enemy Territory Qualification #2 *UPDATE*

image: ET-header-banner

JeeSports sign ups close tonight, with the signed up teams being allocated to a bracket tomorrow. Unfortunately there are a number of teams that have signed up to play but do not have at least 6 players in their roster. Teams that have less then 6 players in their roster will still be put into the bracket for Sundays Cup but will forfeit their match if they fail to gather 6 players and have them sign up to the website.

The following teams that have signed up and are currently fine to play the competition are:

All other teams currently have incomplete lineups and must have the minimum of 6 by Check in time (the above list will not be updated, just make sure you have 6 players in the lineup minimum!) All teams competing, including the teams above, can only field players on their roster. Players must make sure to add their TZAC ID in the correct place too, details can be found below on how to sign up to the site, make a clan and so on.

Queens claim Enemy Territory EC Crown

image: trophyLast night Queens picked up the Clanbase Eurocup Gold Medal with victory over BelgoGerman Gaming2Perfection. The match, though filled with stops and starts was extremely entertaining with Gaming2Perfection giving a good account of themselves.

Europe Queens 4:2 Europe Gaming2Perfection

The match was not without incident as both sides had wide ranging connection problems, Queens' sQzz and Razz both started the game with pings of around 150 though they dropped to closer to 100 during the match. During the game G2P stalwart Jere randomly disconnected several times and had to be replaced by former ButtonBashers hero, Clown, at times during Goldrush.

Crossfire Facebook & Twitter are live

Crossfire Twitter & Facebook are live!

Crossfire 4 is approaching and as part of the new site's functionality we will be looking to integrate both Facebook and Twitter accounts to Crossfire. Crossfire 4 will have greater degrees of social-network integration so we thought it best to get that side of the site up and running now. If this is not your preferred way of consuming news then none of these updates will have any effect on you what-so-ever. Newsposts will automatically posted to the Official Twitter feed and simultaneously posted to the wall of the Official Facebook page. The Official Facebook page will be linked to CF 4 and you will be able to share your own journals, newsposts, movies and more. We are aware that there is already a Crossfire.nu group on Facebook but this is an open group and is unmoderated, as you might have already noticed by the constant cheat spam. In preparation for the new site we would urge you to follow us on Twitter and Like the Facebook page so that together we can improve your experience on Crossfire.nu and help the community to grow. With the aid of the new site and the greater degree of functionality and accessibility that it brings we are sure that there is a bright future for both Crossfire.nu and Enemy Territory.
