EuroCup Final - idle vs ND

It's been but a month since the last EuroCup semi final, that somewhat anti-climatic penultimate encounter between Northern Darkness and riZe Gaming. But what a month it's been. The shock announcement of Quakecon, Crossfire LAN and what some claim the brink of a Third World War in the Middle East. As Renee Alstead [almost] famously sang, "What A Difference A Month Makes."

JakaZc is back from his jollies, it's time to crack on with the Enemy Territory action.

----------------------------

Who are you & what do you do at CB?

I’m Adacore, I’m 21 I live in England and I’m currently working as the EuroCup supervisor for ET.

You now represent the entire ET CB staff…

Yeah

Do you still think what CB does is worth it?

The ClanBase European Ladder is broke…

…and always has been.

We’ve gone from putting up with to indifference. The ClanBase European Ladder is broke and nobody cares.

The CB admins don’t – if they did we’d see them being proactive in fixing it.
The community doesn’t – if we did we’d be hounding the CB admins to fix it.

The Demo Culture

This craze seems to be severely lacking in ET. Officials, cups or scrims - these matches rarely leave a players hard drive unless there‘s ETTV. Now personally I’m not a demo person, but there’s plenty that are. Currently great matches are lost stranded on a players hard drive never to be seen again.

RTCW, Skilled?

Seems to be the RTCW players favourite rhetoric. Near every comment I’ve seen regarding ET from one usually contains these two phrases: “ET is unskilled” and “ET is spammy.”

This is a blank canvas, in the search of clarification. Now I’m told RTCW is skilled and ET isn’t. Justify this claim.

Wikipedia (the fountain of all our knowledge) defines skill as: “A skill is an ability, usually learned, to perform actions.” Hmm that’s vague, so ET players can't perform actions.

Where is the love? (revisited)

Just over a year ago Ronner posted a column posing this simple question. “Where is the love?”

Quote Is it a fundamental thing in teens? Or perhaps a side-effect of competitive situations? Or is it really just a matter of character? In all cases it's a sad thing to see and to experience.

What’s that you say, ET needs changing? We’re getting bored of the same overplayed maps? No shit!

As the “10000” column rages on there’s a new map on the horizon – seemingly more hyped than the Arctic Monkeys. It’s an et_ice come radar cocktail of ET goodness.

Interview With FlyingDJ

Age: 21

As our resident shoutcaster departs for Eastern shores one determined German is lingering in the aisles awaiting his big chance. He’s already an established shoutcaster with an ever increasing fan base eager to tune in.

ETTv Overkill?

As a rule more coverage is good, but there’s always a limit. ET simply doesn’t have a large enough scene to keep everyone interested as things stand.

I’d use this term to express the current state of ETTv, it’s oversaturated. There’s simply too much of it devaluing the games being shown. Once ETTv were regarded as the pinnacle of Enemy Territory, the highlight of that weeks matches.

EC - Who Would You Invite?

A week! This Sunday ClanBase will finally invite the teams to the twelfth inaugural Eurocup, the fourth for Enemy Territory. Eurocup is the most prestigious tournament in Europe - regardless of the game it’s held in high esteem and the highlight of any players career. This being only the second Enemy Territory Eurocup offering a purse - a total of $15000
