Tonight is EuroCup Thursday, with another set of sensational games to follow straight after yesterday's fantastic matches in the ESL Major Series V Qualifiers. Well, what did we learn - expect the unexpected? After blurred vision's fantastic 4-0 run in the EuroCup XX, asde, the underdogs, thrashed blurred vision 4-0, giving them a shocking taste of their own medicine.

That was yesterday, it's all in the past. It's Thursday, and blurred vision are back to their dominating league, EuroCup XX - and perhaps turn the tables once again. But against who? Reigning champions and Finnish powerhouse MASCULINE MANS. MASCULINE MANS have won their last two officials against sublime and roYality-eSports, slaughtering them 4-0 in a set of one sided matches. The odds are in MASCULINE MANS' favour to slash blurred vision again, but after yesterday, expect the unexpected again!

Tonight in the ESL Major Series V Qualifiers, blurred-vision are set to continue their 4-0 run against the European mix team asd. So far, blurred vision has won all 4 of their EuroCup XX matches thrashing their opponents 4-0 without exception. Can asd put an end to their winning streak? A few weeks ago, asd were able to bring sublime to their knees after an epic battle between the two with an end result of 4-2. The tables turned last sunday when European powerhouse EC Winners! shut asd down with an easy 4-0 win.

Also in tonight's EMS matches, Team-YoYoTech battle it out against pstarZ Rise and Shin for a place in the final stages. The odds are in Team-YoYoTech favours, with a consistent lineup over the years which has proven successful both online and at LAN.

dark&beyond have also returned to the ET scene, with a similar lineup to that seen in the previous leagues over the last few years. However, even with a lineup that dates back to a few years, Finnish upcoming stars Zero Empathy turboAp are expected to beat them in tonight's match.

...but not anymore - things are about to change this Sunday - The teams battle it out in the group stages in order to climb the ladder of victory and hopefully their ultimate goal, reach the finals. Team EDiT has returned to the scene, formerly known as Best Players BE, with their key player mAus also back in action. Pinpals are also back, but this time under their new gaming organisation xt6 gaming. BaggieZ and hype have gone their seperate ways - the battle of the UK's best Field Ops has been put on hold. Will both teams make it to the final stages of this seasons fine EuroCup? TosspoT will also be returning to shoutcast tonight's biggest matches - Team-YoYoTech vs asd. and TAG vs Team Celsus

The groups have been sorted and the teams are gearing up - EuroCup XX is well on it's way to another fine season. Tonight's match takes place in Group B, with Polish newcomers invitium taking on the European powerhouse EC Winners, consisting with some of the most talented players in the game.

Brink has grabbed the spotlight in September, with plenty of news, interviews, previews and content floating around. The multiplayer component of Brink is building up quite nicely, and is based on the similar team experience found in the Wolfenstein series. There are plenty of video interviews and Q&As going into a lot of detail on the multiplayer, even though Brink won't see the shelves for a further six months. As expected from Splash Damage, Brink won't be a regular FPS. The game will feature up-to 8 player Co-op throughout Campaign mode, as well as a few other surprises. Richard Ham described some of the advanced modifications Splash Damage have made to the id Tech 4 engine - to quote (not exact), Splash Damage have pretty much made it their own engine, with plenty of stuff re-written from scratch. A new feature added to the engine will only add textures to the memory that you can see, allowing high detailed textures - hence superior graphics. GameTrailers have released several new videos showing Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer component. The footage was captured on camera at a recent press release, dedicated to the multiplayer component. According to FourTwoZero, a lot of new footage and content will be released in a few days, as well as further Q&As with gaming sites and interviews discussing the multiplayer.

GameSpot also managed to get their hands on Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer, revealing further information on the game modes as well as several new perks that will be included. Unfortunately, there is still very little information on the competitive side on Modern Warfare 2. However, this is expected considering the competitive community is a lot smaller compared to the casual Call of Duty 4 gamers. We can expect the competitive CoD4 community to contribute to competitive gameplay, rather than IW

Infinity Ward have just released a brand new video showing Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer gameplay in CTF mode. Only last month, Infinity Ward unveiled Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer. This new video reveals further weapons and perks from the game, including the all new "Knife Throwing" perk.

The video also shows a new feature for console gamers that allows the host to quit the game, where the match is then paused and passed onto another player resuming to its exact state.

Modern Warfare 2 will be released worldwide on November 10th, 2009 on the PC, 360 and PS3.

Shrapmod is a modification for Wolfenstein which aims to add gameplay aspects from RtCW and ET into Wolfenstein, such as strafe jumping, instant revives and less weapon spread. Shrapmod's first build was released last week. Today, Shrap, the creator of Shrapmod, released a new version adding further aspects from RtCW and ET.

On the same day that Activision releases its latest title in the Wolfenstein franchise, GamesIndustry.biz can confirm that a number of the team responsible for the multiplayer portion of the game have been laid off.

UK based Endrant Studios had been co-developing Wolfenstein with Raven Software, and it was the first title by the team since forming in July 2008.

"We have recently completed a development cycle and have regrettably been forced to make adjustments to staff and headcounts," said a spokesperson for the studio.

"Those affected are valued members of our team who have worked incredibly hard on our latest title. We hope that they land on their feet quickly."

The spokesperson could not specify the exact number of redundancies at the 17-man team due to ongoing efforts to secure other work.

Wolfenstein for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is released today in North America, and on Friday in Europe.

It is unclear why a number of employees working on Wolfenstein were axed - it could be for a number of reasons, possibly unrelated to the state of the game
