image: brink_logo

Love it or hate it: BRINK has arrived in European stores today!

BRINK promises to blur the lines between offline and online gaming by having seamless transitions from single player matches with bots, to co-op with your buddies to fully fletched multi-player combat. The game features objective based game play, free of vehicles and with an added movement dynamic called SMART which will let you vault, slide and wall jump throughout the maps.

The game was developed by Splash Damage, studio behind award winning and whine receiving games Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars. The publisher is Bethesda Softworks, known from The Elder Scrolls, Fallout and nowadays a sister company of id Software.

Until now the game has released mixed reviews, the game often getting crushed for a poor single player experience but receiving praise for it's movement system and team based multi-player.

You can get the game on Steam or your local video game shop.

Overload.ET types /quit

With great performances in the ESL Major Series and ClanBase EuroCup, Belgium Overload was expected to perform very well at the Antwerp eSports Festival, however lineup issues have wreaked havoc on the team leading to a respectable but lower than expected shared fifth place finish in Antwerp.

After the Antwerp eSports Festival, efforts were made to build a new lineup formed by some of the core players attending the AEF under the Overload banner. Sadly these efforts hit a wall which means Overload Gaming's Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory team is no more.

Overload Gaming has expressed not to be interested in receiving any offers from prospective Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory teams to join Overload.

Overload Gaming.ET's AEF lineup was:
Belgium lio
Belgium mAus
Belgium cherry
Belgium Jere
Netherlands joop

Crossfired version of the announcement posted on the Overload Gaming website.

AEF: Dignitas win!

In a spectacular match United Kingdom Team Dignitas just became the champions of the Antwerp eSports Festival 2010 Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory competition, denying United Kingdom Team Impact the gold.

7/8. Netherlands Acsi-eSports dNan
7/8. Netherlands TAG.AEF
9/10. England ALMIGHTY
9/10. Benelux Zero Empathy

Dignitas came in as favorites and left as champions. Meanwhile we have seen major upsets and surprises, such as the amazing performance by the Belgian Fraternity. We will soon be officially wrapping off the Antwerp eSports Festival with the prize ceremony for Enemy Territory.

AEF: Grand Final

image: aefgrandfinal

The moment that we have all been looking forward has almost arrived. United Kingdom Team Dignitas is facing United Kingdom Impact Gaming in the Grand Finals of the Antwerp eSports Festival 2010 Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory tournament.

Dignitas are of course the undisputed and undefeated favorite entering the final, with a host of achievements matched by no-one other. However Impact have shown they are fully capable of causing a major upset. In the lower bracket final match against Rockit for example, who would have expected them to play such an impressive match on Frostbite, after playing an utmost close round on Goldrush and actually getting defeated quite comfortably by their opponents on Supply?

If Impact wants to win the AEF, they will have to dig very deep, facing an excellent side such as Dignitas, and having to beat them not only once but twice.

AEF: Lower Bracket Final

image: aefcfinal

Germany Rockit just eliminated Belgium Belgian Fraternity meaning the rise of the Belgium ends at the fourth position here at the Antwerp eSports Festival. Meanwhile United Kingdom Team Dignitas beat United Kingdom Impact Gaming in the upper bracket, meaning we will see a lower bracket final taking place between United Kingdom Impact Gaming and Germany Rockit. Deja vu? Yeah, the same match took place yesterday, in which Impact took home an impressive yet not undisputed victory against the team sporting the German flag.

Rockit showed fair play in the first round on goldrush when one of Impact's players dropped due to a PC crash. Later Impact where in the zone on supply, not giving away many chances for Rockit to win.

The lower bracket final is going to be played on the grand stage here at the Antwerp eSports Festival, and should be viewable online on the H2kTV stream.

Update: Rockit are probably still confused of what just impacted them - Impact set a time of less than two minutes on frosbite! The Grand Final will be between Impact Gaming and Team Dignitas.
Rockit lose goldrush which means we are going to see a decider after a short break.
2:0 for Rockit thanks to a victory on supply, can Impact restore themselves or are we going to see a Rockit versus Dignitas final?
