The Calcutta Cup is a rugby union trophy awarded to the winner of the annual Six Nations Championship match between England and Scotland. Tonight, the Calcutta Cup comes to Enemy Territory!
England go into this match deflated by their collapse at the hands of Italy, whilst Scotland have yet to compete in the competition proper. Whatever happens tonight as far as England are concerned it has to be a straightforward victory - if the match is either closely fought or England lose, then the knives will be out for Starzi and his players. The UK team will ensure of that.
The intense rivalry between these two nations cannot be understated. From Wallace to the highland clearances, from football to devolution – there’s a deep seated hatred bred into every man, woman and child. Could this intensity boil over tonight, and Kevlar lead his troops to the biggest upset in the UK scene since UKEG destroyed SoF on oasis?
Welcome to Wednesday’s Six(ish) Nations Championship! It’s match week two and the irresistible Italians take on the irredeemable Irish, in what’s being billed as another David versus Goliath mash up. This the first match proper for the Irish, and they’re eager to overcome the doubters and get off to a winning start. Should they lose tonight, it'll be a constant uphill battle to avoid being awarded the Wooden Spoon.
In their first match of the competition Italy enacted an enthralling comeback, turning over what seemed an irreversible lead for the English and eventually clawing their way back from two maps down in order to share the points with the then despondent English. In little over an hours worth of game time, and four maps played, this was a flashback to the glory days of Enemy Territory – as two teams slogged it out, testing their mental stamina to the limits.
The Italians managed to hold England for over twelve minutes on Supply, primarily thanks to an impressive outer defence of the depot, repelling wave after wave of English attacks and holding them outside the walls for over four minutes. Assuming Italy have worked on improving their attack, they’ll be confident of taking the map tonight.
Battery is what throws some spice into tonight’s match, with teams reporting difficulties in practicing, and it being a map not regularly used in competition – assuming Ireland are fully prepared and can overcome the initial stage relatively easily, could this be their map to shine?

Crossfire tonight learned that the struggling USA team will be withdrawn from this years ClanBase NationsCup XII - amid howls of controversy and scandal engulfing the entire North American scene! This a move that will further compound what has been a torrid time for Enemy Territory stateside.
Although details are currently sketchy, reports from across the pond are that alea, though American, not currently on the US roster, and anim, team Canada's captain, covertly played for the USA team in their first match week loss to Slovenia.
The favour was returned with theend playing for Canada in their victory over Hungary in Group C.
These revelations leave ClanBase in a sticky position as to their next move, with a minimum red card for both teams (i.e. forfeiting matches played with mercs) seeming a certainty. This fiasco also leaves many asking as to possible repercussions for the NA scene, with ClanBase due shortly to announce their first North American ladder.

All matches where the freelancer has played will be turned into a forfeit loss. The freelancer will be banned from the cup and will receive a temporary 3 months ban from ClanBase. In case of a returned freelancer, he will receive a further ban. In case a freelancer has 2 different unlinked accounts, his newest active account will be deleted and the other one banned. This may also lead to the exclusion of the clans involved from the cup.

We’re only just entering the second match week of ClanBase Nationscup XII and already it’s crunch time in Group B! Tonight’s losers will all but destroy their prospects of further progression within the competition. It’s France against the United Kingdom, CB NC XII – crunch time.

Netherlands (1/0)
France (0/1)

Both teams showed impressive potential in their initial match week, surprisingly taking maps off group favourites Finland and Netherlands respectively. They’ve proven they can play as a team, proven they can compete alongside the best – but can they convert this early form and earn a vital win clawing their way back into contention for the all valuable third place qualifying position?
Tune in tonight to find out, it’s going to be close!
Lions roar, eagles soar… tonight, the first Enemy Territory 6(ish) Nations Championship kicks off! We’ve the start of this weeks three encounters and it’s going to be a cracker. It’s Azzurri against England, blue against white – tonight, ‘nations collide’.
Saturday’s rugby clash was an unspectacular affair, dogged by a myriad of Italian errors making life easy for the unimpressive English – errors the Italians will be eager not to replicate tonight. Will they settle the score and reclaim national pride? English captain Starzi thinks not “we can win today”, this despite difficulties arising due to the ET Masters “We haven't had a lot of training due to exams and the ET Masters, but I think we've got a good strong line up”.
What does the caster think? "4-2 either way, depends on if Italy brings their gameface."
Welcome to the reinvented 6ish Nations Championship! The Scots, threatening the wrath of Wallace (after seeing what they did to York in Braveheart, toss intervened), will now compete alongside the current six nations. Sorry sol, but in this Sixish Nations Championship – we'll see seven teams compete! Portugal offered to get me out of a bind, and I've no intention of removing them from the competition.
The fixtures have now been reworked and finalised – with the first match week beginning Monday, 9th February. Each team will have a one week 'respite' during the competition due to the uneven number of competitors.
Matches will continue to be played in a best of four (BO4) format and teams should schedule their match and contact myself with a time and date. If there's any scheduling difficulties contact me and we'll work something out – don't leave it to the last minute.
The reworked fixture list has thrown up an even more intense first match week! The four tournament favourites face off in clashes many would claim too close to call, and Wales vs Scotland kicks off the first of the Home Nation ties. Team Ireland will sit out the first match week.

Welcome to the first 6 Nations Wolfenstein Enemy Territory Championship! Taking the concept of the traditional rugby Six Nations, add extra flare and set the nations forth to battle it out for the coveted Championship trophy.
Unfortunately due to Scotland being unable to offer a reliable team, they will not compete during this Championship.
The first match week will begin Monday 9th February 2009, one match per week thereafter.
We’ve an interesting twist on the usual competitive format. Disregarding convention, and with the luxury of a league setting, matches will be played over four maps (BO4) and matches can be drawn. Meaning a team must win three maps to guarantee victory. Two maps for each match week will be pre-determined, and organised to coincide with the ClanBase NationsCup.
After consultation with community figures and probable players, the following captains have been chosen, full rosters to be announced shortly:
England – Starzi
France - Horek
Ireland – bilgrim
Italy - mama
Portugal – Strider
Wales – hArris
The fixtures are out for the first match week offering a myriad of exciting matches. Tie of the round being the freshly formed English team taking on NC Playoff losers Portugal, with the footballing rivalry transfer to ET?

How does ClanBase Supervisor Bartichello think the tournament will pan out? "I hope we won't get a lot of delays, and we will definitely have some interesting match ups ready for you guys - so be sure to tune in!" Though he's a parting shot across the bow for the Romanian and Slovenian teams "also i hope teams will be fair towards their overseas opponents and at least show some intent on giving them an even chance."
The top team of each group will earn a BYE in the playoffs, with second and third going straight on in to the single elimination bracket. More information on lineups, predictions and general coverage can be found right here on Crossfire in the Interviews, Articles and News sections!
Gone the way of dinosaurs, dodos and all things vicious and evil, a gaming dynasty today closed its door. In their four years Vicious and Evil became known as a respected, competent and competitive team with a relatively active community site constantly generating content and interest which we’re sad to see go.
Posted on their site, viciousandevil.com, manager Swine gave his thanks to squads past and present and announced that the motivation had drained and ultimately attentions were elsewhere. Vicious and Evil have now released all their squads, including ET, CoD, CSS and Quake, who are currently looking for a new home.
