olBaa joins Team Dignitas

image: profile_olbaaAfter coming back from the Antwerp Esports Festival our Enemy Territory lineup took a well deserved break, as kARnAJ went on holiday and sQUALL decided to go inactive as he can't put up the necessary time needed for the team. After careful consideration they have now found the suitable replacement in one of Finland's finest.

Joining our ranks is Oula 'olBaa' Räsänen who comes from the Fintastic 5 lineup. We are confident that he can help the team maintain their winning streak both online and offline. As mentioned this means that sQUALL will take an inactive role in the lineup.

Team Dignitas ET is:

Hendrik-William 'Anderson' Kinks
Jaka 'JaKaZc' Kejzar
Sebastian 'drago' Ohrmann
Travaillé 'kARnAJ' Hugo
Oula 'olBaa' Räsänen
Taneli 'sQUALL' Härkönen (inactive)

Vote for Owzo!

As I'm sure a lot of you are aware after reading United Kingdom MerlinatoR's journal, our favourite Welshlad Wales Owzo has entered a competition called "So you think you can shoutcast?" where he is in with the chance of winning an fully-paid trip to the World Cyber Games in United States of America Los Angeles, California to be featured as the commentator for the WCG TV at this year's event finals.

image: WCG_Logo

To win the competition, Owzo, real name Owain Howard, had to submit a video with him shoutcasting the match as if it was happening live. The choice was between Tekken or Counter Strike. An easy choice for Owzo then considering he mentioned last night how Tekken wasn't a game that tickled his fancy and that he had played Counter Strike a few times back in the day. So he downloaded the clip, shoutcasted over it in true Owzo style by "steamin' in" and then uploaded the video to YouTube as per the competition guidelines. This is where you guys come in...

Aalborg Lan = Troll/Scam

So after seeing this news post - http://www.crossfire.nu/?x=news&mode=item&id=6142 , I decided to look into it more as I got more interested since I wouldn't mind going to another lan.

However, I noticed a few things:

The Alienware Backpacking Challenge Final Results

image: 2cffe4p

It's been a long and exciting journey and after seven weeks of travelling, blogging and crossing Europe we have reached the conclusion of the Alienware Backpacking Challenge.

The time has come to announce the winner. Who will walk away with $5,000 and an Alienware M11x? And without further ado, the winner is...

Speedlink welcomes Potter

image: 31115HMP2021Leading German side Germany Speedlink was recently forced to search for a replacement for their long time member krest as a new internet provider with limited bandwidth did not allow him to keep on playing like he used to. The gap in the line could be eventually filled with non other than former Crossfire.ATi as well as zeroPoint! Gaming player Michael 'potter' Kantringer!

The team now aims to improve its performances such as the recent 5th coming at the Antwerp E-Sports Festival in Belgium. As the new EuroCup and ESL Major Series season is already waiting, the goals are set and the motivation should be high enough. New LAN events such as CC8, AeG or a possible tournament in Croatia are - if they happen - planned to be visited as well.

  • Germany SPEEDLINK | FLoPJEHZ
  • Germany SPEEDLINK | Bl4d3
  • Austria SPEEDLINK | Potter
  • Germany SPEEDLINK | sTOWNAGE

QuoteAs I really missed it to play seriously and to have the chance of going to larger events, the offer from Speedlink came perfectly right. After some games with the guys it bacame clear to me that this may appeal to me. I hope I can contribute a lot to play at the top with the team. I will give my best for certain. - Austria Potter

BelgiumBelgian Fraternity is a team that has it’s roots in teams like BelgiumBeringenmijn and BelgiumPhantasmagoria. All players know each other for years and were even related to each other in some cases. All these factors allowed us to create unique bond. One that no other team has. This bond allowed us to make 2010 our best year. Starting off in January with winning OC premier, through ending 5th at Crossfire Intel Challenge 7, fighting on ET’s hardest battlefields like EC and EMS and ending it with astonishing performance at Antwerp Esports Festival where the team gave their very best and ended up 4th. Now the Fraternity moves on, preparing for more epic battles, both online and offline. And we’re not going to walk alone here.

I'm sure many of you wondered which match might be the one with the highest viewer peak, the most comments or simply has been requested on demand most often.
This "top 10 of all times page" is long overdue. Next to the matches we also listed some interesting team statistics, a server hall of fame and an overview about GamesTV.org and its contents (like GBooky and GTVd).

I think all the numbers speak for themselves or are explained properly on the page so with no further delay I give you:

Alienware Challenge Final Vote!

image: 2cffe4p

The AWC is coming to an end with one final vote which will most likely decide who wins the $5000 cash prize.

Some of you will have doubtlessly been following the Alienware backpacking challenge, an event that saw four gamers travel across Europe while trying to accomplish a series of testing tasks.
During that time the public were encouraged to vote for who they thought had performed each task to the best of their ability. Well now, with the end in sight after the contestants all convened at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, it's now time for the final vote to be cast to see who will emerge victorious and take home a $5,000 cash prize.

This final vote will make up a massive 40% of the total, so if you haven't voted before, or want to ensure that the most deserving person wins, now is the time to make it count.
