We are here at the World Cyber Games 2010 US Finals at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, where qualifiers will take place in Starcraft 1, Counter-Strike 1.6, Tekken 6, Warcraft 3 and more as entrance to the WCG Grand Finals later this month at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This will presumably be the final year of action in the original Starcraft before moving on to Starcraft 2 next year. Players and teams participating include Evil Geniuses (CS), WinOut.net feat. Rambo (CS), Geoff "EG.iNcontroL" Robinson (SC), Kelby "EG.iNkA" Williams (SC), Phil "LongWalk" Crawford (WC3), Reepal "Rip" Parbhoo (T6) and more.

The entire event will be streamed by the Live On Three crew of Marcus "djWHEAT" Graham, Rod "Slasher" Breslau and Scott "SirScoots" Smith. Special guests to help commentate throughout the weekend include Sean "Day9" Plott, Bruce Rivington, Adande "sWooZie" Thorne and Mark "MarkMan" Julio. All the action can be watched live on djWHEAT.tv and WCG Live.

Game developer, Splash Damage have today announced that they will be teaming up with the World Cyber Games executives and will be sending an American team to the event with their airtravel and hotel provided by the WCG organisation. As you may have read on Crossfire previously, Quakewars Online is one of this year's promotional games that is being featured at the WCG 2010 Finals in Los Angelos.

As the Asian and European slots have already been filled, this left Splash Damage with only to send an American team. So for those of you who used to play Enemy Territory: Quake Wars in America, then this is a great opportunity for you.

Basic Game Rules

• Teams take turns playing GDF and Strogg, once each on same map
  
• The team finishing all three objectives faster is selected the winner
  
• If the teams have the exact same time, then other methods are used to determine winner

Eurocup or Major Series, Opencup or Fall League, MG or Mortar, forced netsettings or helmet protection. The eternal clash of the two major forces in competetive online Enemy Territory have had numerous conflicts and history implys it to contine forever. Will it?

Eventually not! Both high commands decided to settle this epic fight once and forever, this sunday at 19 CET. A showdown of pure skill and game knowledge will be available for spectators around the world when the Clanbase ET Crew faces the ESL ET Staff in the Tobruk City Bank, the Würzburg grassland and eventually at the gates of a central european supply depot!

The current ban list consists cheaters caught during a period of a bit more than a month. Although rumours were floating around saying 29 persons would be banned for cheating, unfortunately SLAC in start lacked certain detections and although there's 99% possibility those accounts were used for cheating, I've decided to wait a bit more as the logs don't make it clear whether it was triggered by a cheat or corrupted hardware. The accounts in question will be monitored and checked often, though. Now that the website is done and the whole system works fine, cheaters will be added to the list more often. However, as of a few days ago, a large number of public and some private cheats have been blocked from operating at all, which will probably result in lower detection rate as many attempts to cheat will fail.

Although Project Phoenix is still a few weeks away from our official launch, we will still be contacting MGC's in the mean time and if the right squad is available for the right MGC we hope we can help bring some more well known teams into Enemy Territory.

Today we are releasing a basic team application template to help you, or us, approaching MGC's for support - this is only a BETA release and we hope to have a more enhanced one once the website launches - Please read through and feel free to edit / change anything as you please - personalised formatting is recomended purely to give a less generic look. We are also working other aspects for our website and to help current MGC's with teams - future squads and current teams will need newswriters / managers to produce content for their webpages which in hand will help squads keep their support and promote ET to other scenes and MGC's who dont currently have a ET squad. A new ESL Major Series season has started last night, that is already passing through the qualifiers stage. 32 teams were selected for the qualifiers that were seeded according to several aspects such as recent achievements, activity, stability etc. Only 16 teams will pass in the Group Stage, so the battle will be intense. Don't forget about the unique prize purse for this online competition: 750 euros. Let's see the 32 teams that will fight for a place in the ESL Major Series VII Group Stage.

Founded in February 2008, the Enemy Territory team Sleeperz went a long way up to
the top of the scene. Starting as newcomers back then, the team can now be called a
Top5 team in Europe, being also one of the most stable teams around. With numerous EuroCups and ESL Major Series's they have been taking part in, the allstar team now prepares for another season and can once again exhibit a step forward.


The team has been taken up by the Dutch based gaming organisation Rage Gaming that is already host for a professional Call of Duty 4 team (recently ranked top7 in Europe) as well as the fourth coming UK ESL Pro Series CSS team. With the support of Rage we can expect the team to attend all the upcoming LAN events for Enemy Territory. The deal can also be seen as a first success of the recently started Project Phoenix which aims to give ambicious teams the chance to play for professional gaming organisations.

We are proud to announce the opening of the official SPEEDLINK ANTICHEAT website and from now on, all announcements will be made here. The site will be improved with features as the time goes on. The reason some functionality is missing (e.g. commenting, but will be implemented soon) is that certain things have taken the priority due to the anticheat being used in the upcoming ClanBase's EuroCup and OpenCup season.

The question many people have been asking lately: when will the first cheater list be released? Now that the site is open to public, the answer is: within a few days. A few more things on the technical side need to be done before releasing the list. After that, a list of the caught cheaters will be published on more often, regular basis.

The group stage is now over and the teams going into the single elimination semi finals are now known, making it out of group A in first place are United Kingdom and in second place Germany the other two teams making it into the semis are Netherlands who finished first and Hungary who finished second in group B. The semi final games are then as follows:



This game should proove to be a tough contest with both teams having some great experience in their midst. United Kingdom are the seeded team in this game due to finishing first in their group and Hungary should not be underated though, whichever team brings their A game has the best chance of winning.
