Three ESL Matches Back to Back

That's right tonight I miss out on Spain vs Italy and instead bring you all the action from the ESL in Call of Duty 4 and Team Fortress 2.

CoD4 ESL LB Round 2 - 19:00 CET Sunday 22nd June - choZen vs TeK-9 - MAP TBD

Germany choZen come into this match on the back of defeat in the play-offs to Belgium LowLandLions (13-3). It was a heavy defeat but they will no doubt bounce back against a reasonably inactive Belgium TeK-9.

choZen Line-up]Germany Lynx
Germany dexterrr
Germany morpH
Germany snX
Germany z1NSTAR

Belgium TeK-9 started the play-offs with defeat to the now finalists Germany Speed-link (13-11). A close run match they no doubt feel they could have won and went on to smash Denmark Roskilde Ravens (13-4). Belgium TeK-9 have had activity problems in CoD4 but recently have started to play more. This is possibly down to the recent player change with Belgium Stevy replacing Finland Kammyz or just a step up towards the summer lans.

TeK-9 Line-up]Belgium Davy
Belgium Stevy
Turkey haya
Netherlands strelok
France OZWALD

CoD4 ESL LB Round 2 - 20:00 CET Sunday 22nd June - Dignitas vs Fnatic - MAP TBD

United Kingdom Dignitas are in a rough patch of inactivity due to United Kingdom Mick's real life activities (<3). Something will have to give if they plan to go far in the summer lans as at the moment they are purely playing official games and not finding time to practise. Dignitas play-off path saw them defeating Denmark Roskilde Ravens (13-7) but then falling to current finalists Germany Speed-Link (13-7). They now face a team they know everything about. They knocked Sweden Fnatic into the lower brackets at the CGS lan only to be defeated in a 2 map thriller in the finals in a match to quote Norway PlaZma "We played like spastics".

Dignitas Line-Up]United Kingdom Mick
United Kingdom Raz
United Kingdom blackmane
Norway PlaZma
Netherlands Sko

Sweden Fnatic find themselves in the losers bracket after a thrilling double overtime match with Belgium LowLandLions (19-16). They then went on to rage Czech Republic DEFEATERS (13-2) and now face one of their rivals United Kingdom Dignitas. As mentioned they managed to win the CGS Lan finals over them recently and we shall no doubt see this battle of the giants repeated in the summer but for now they are two fairly inactive teams. Sweden Mintr claims they will start to ramp up their activity in July so it will be interesting to see how much pride the players have when facing each other tonight.

Fnatic Line-Up]Sweden Mintr
Sweden LINQAN
Sweden odyx
Sweden zEm
Sweden tidde

EC XVII ET Grand Final Tonight!

image: ecbw4

After many matches, some forfeits and a column by TosspoT, our current EC season is coming to a close. What many people expected to be a fantastic season, has turned out to be a disappointment, after dropouts due to lack of motivation, many losses due to what is clearly a lack of practice, and even removal from the cup due to the likes of Poland gnajda! We can only hope that what remains in the final will please both the players and the spectators, and redeem what has so far been a poor season.

The lineups of the teams will be:
Germany megaProGaming
Latvia Clown
Germany wEAK
Germany butchji
Germany haZer
United Kingdom razz
Austria potter

Europe Impact
Malta toxic
Germany sNoOp
Germany drago
United Kingdom Mztik
Estonia Reload
Spain Winghaven

As the lineups show, impact have been forced to use a merc due to what Malta toxic has stated is summer inactivity. Whether or not this will be a deciding factor in the outcome of the match is yet to be seen.
