#ET-Cup says "Goodbye"

image: img_dfca2c662230d8bf3f7f16cbc1a99717

My dream came true... In early September 2005, I worked hard and resolutely for something that was maybe not achievable.

The goal?l An ET-Cup with 16 of Europe's finest teams and I was well on the way to get them all.
To make things short; It was a good piece of craftsmanship but the cup was great and it was Germany 141 who immortalised themselves to the ET-Cup history books and became the first winners of this prestigeious event.

You know what happened within the last 2 or so years - the 1 man band grew to a crew of up to 9 people. We have done 30 Cups and I hope everyone, spectator-or playerwise, enjoyed at least one of those events.

Now the time has come to an end and unfortunately, I have to announce that it is time to say Goodbye...

But we dont wanna go quietly, far from it! We wanna say Goodbye with a big bang!

Thus we would appreciate it if you and your team are ready for one last shot at the title and become the final team to be crowned with the ET-Cup trophy.

Due to the fact that the EuroCup as well as the OpenCup are @ the Playoff stage, I hope you are all able to reserve one/two days a week for a Cupmatch!

GROF Collapse

Greek gaming organisation GROF have seen their Quakewars lineup fall on its head after their second place at i32. In truth they were outplayed by the Dignitas however some may have hoped that was a starting point for better things for the team, in truth it was the end.

Fans favourite United Kingdom hentai has moved into UK team pointblank citing that he wanted to stay with Quakewars and saying it was an easy decision as they were looking for a player and he felt they were skilled, friendly, respected and focused.

As for the rest of the roster, Netherlands 2easy, United Kingdom sin and Netherlands rufio will be moving over to recently released Call of Duty 4. Norway athex & Netherlands Waste are currently undecided about their future, whilst Netherlands Quark will be quitting gaming.

Eurocup Lower Bracket

image: eurocup

On this cold November night we can heat ourselves up with a bit of EC action. It will be none other than the Croatia Croatian team cortana taking it up against the Finland Fins of Incomplete! The match is due to kick off at 21:00 CET.

Both teams have surprised many of us already, but which of the two will continue their road after tonight?
With cortana taking wins over TLR, MoD and Overload they have already proven themselves worthy of a playoff spot. Not only this, but Incomplete also suprised with a win over the GMPO side. unfortunately only one can make it to the Lower bracket Semi Final.

Clanbase odds show:
Croatia Cor 60% vs 40% Finland Incomplete

On gamestv we have:
Croatia Cor 1.73 vs 2.36 Finland Incomplete

The gladiators in the arena tonight will be

Croatia
* Croatia Blaze
* Croatia Calisto
* Sweden Eddie
* Croatia Gmx
* Croatia Komar
* Croatia Rimi[/hide]

The fins will try to take their goal with

Finland
* Finland Chmpp
* Finland Crosby
* Finland FeL
* Finland Raptor
* Finland Sanda
* Finland Spirea[/hide]

My prediction is a win for Incomplete in a 4-2 battle. I can see some communication problems in the Croatian side with eddie being the 6th as this might stand in the way of their teamplay capabilities (but it might also be an improvement). The fins will try to take the win based on the aiming of sanda and spirea (who joined up Inc) and are surely not to be underestimated.

Gl to both!
Final result Croatia Cortana 0 - 4 Finland Incomplete

ET:QW SDK Beta very soon!

SplashDamage has today announced they are almost ready to unleash the Software Development Kit among the code and design monkeys so they can start working on their very own ET:QW modifications and maps. The SDK will be released in beta state at first, which will exist out of the following components:

- All the tools used to develop the game
- Game source code
- Example maps and reference maps
- Original game scripts and definition files, which can most likely be used to completely change the way the game is played
- A selection of models and example animations

Some of you might have noticed the lack of megatexture media and regular game textures, releasing these has been delayed a bit but will surely be present in the final version of the SDK. However this does not mean there are no textures available, you can import megatextures and regular game textures which are used in the game itself.

The ET:QW SDK is currently going through some final testing and will be available for download very soon.

Changes at the CoD4 'top'

After a nice performance at the CoD-Gamer LAN just a few days ago the former Call of Duty 2 top team and WSVG Dallas winners Europe TeK-9 announced two players have dropped from the team. First is the German top player Germany L-KiNG, who teamed up with TeK-9 at the beginning of this year after leaving the Call of Duty legends Germany Team SPEEDLINK. His departure from TeK-9 is explained because of a lack in motivation for now. The second player is the Dutch Call of Duty 2 star Netherlands haya, who joined TeK-9 in April this year after his former team Netherlands suXus eSports fell apart. haya quits professional gaming to focus more on real life commitments.

For now TeK-9 have not announced any new players joining up with the team, so they will continue with the following lineup:
Belgium davy
Netherlands knaller
France OZWALD

www.tek-9.net

Another well known team which moved to Call of Duty 4 is United Kingdom Reason Gaming, however they too faced some lineup issues. Reason Gaming's player & former United Kingdom Team Dignitas sniper United Kingdom trainee as well as Reason Gaming oldskooler Norway torsh have announced to have no interest in playing Call of Duty 4 competitively. To fill up the slots left by these two top players Reason Gaming have announced they will be adding former Team Dignitas powerhouse United Kingdom dales and former United Kingdom Team eSoureUK player United Kingdom vasquez. Last but possibly not least they will be adding a former Soldier of Fortune 2 top player, United Kingdom rzE.

After these changes the lineup of Reason Gaming becomes as following:
Ireland Karl
United Kingdom benz1ne
United Kingdom NiGGLE
United Kingdom dales
United Kingdom vasquez
United Kingdom rzE

www.reason-gaming.net

It will not be very surprising if other former Call of Duty 2 top teams make changes to their lineups, CoD4 is a new game after all and some players lack motivation, skill or interest in this new title. At the same time players from various other games such as SoF2, W:ET, CS(S) and Battlefield will get a chance to prove themselves worthy of playing among the Call of Duty 4 top.

CoD-Gamer LAN -> H2k wins!

image: codgamernl0This weekend the second big Call of Duty 4 LAN took place, the CoD-Gamer.net LAN
in the milk LAN centre in Paris, France. The competition is sponsored by Activision and offers the winner € 3000,- in cash while other teams have the chance to win products sponsored by Razer and QPAD.

Without many surprises but still a great performance winner bracket leaders H2k Gaming win the CoD-Gamer LAN taking down TeK-9 Networks in a very close grand final. The end result was 14:12 in favor for H2k Gaming.

Final ranking is as following:
Netherlands H2k Gaming
Europe TeK-9 Networks
France oXmoze
4. United Kingdom The Last Resort
5/6 France dRu
5/6 France don'Touch

Fnac Paris LAN

This Saturday 17th November, 18 teams descend on Paris, France, in order to participate in the finals of the Fnac Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Trophy sponsored by Asus! With the event being held in the Fnac Ternes store in Paris, both gamers and members of the public alike have the opportunity to witness some of the top teams in France go head to head for the chance of walking away with 5 ASUS gaming laptops!
However there has been some controversy over the structure and rules of the event, which will be played solely on the demo version of ET:QW with no restrictions and in 5v5. Also, we see a 10 minute timelimit in the group stage, increasing to 15 minutes for the knockout. Objective count is irrelevant, and in the case of a tie, the team with the most XP will take the victory.
With the teams being split up into 6 groups of 3, with the winners then advancing into 2 more poules of 3 teams. The top team from each group will then contest the final, with the 2nd placed teams playing for 3rd place.

Whilst Greece Greek Operation Forces must go into this event as the favourites, it would be unwise to underestimate any of their French opponents who will look to cause an upset on home soil, with France CoRe, France ScaraB and France Against This Brigade looking like the strongest of their opponents. However none of the other teams should be disappointed, as Fnac have paid the full expenses of all the teams competing in the event, as part of the prize for winning the qualification rounds during October, where each participant also earned an ASUS (G5) Gaming Mouse.

With the finals having been completed the results are as follows:

1st place: NoFrag
2nd place: ATB
3rd place: grof

Congratulations to NoFrag, who now win 5 ASUS G1 Gaming laptops!

1st - 5 ASUS G1 Gaming Laptops
2nd - 5 ASUS PG221 LCD Screens
3rd - 5 ASUS PG191 LCD Screens

Impact take on stfu in EC epic!

Kablamo! Finnish upstars stfu? take on Impact Gaming in this weeks Eurocup fight of biblical proportions! Both sides have enjoyed a fine start to their season and got this far courtesy of a win over Finns Incomplete (stfu) and a default win over TLR (impact)

Finland stfu? 0-4 Europe Impact Gaming
Time: 21:00 CET
GamesTV: GamesTV.org
Shoutcast QuadV TosspoT

GamesTV makes Impact clear favourites for this tie and their undeniable firepower and big name players most certainly does favour them for this tie. However the nation of Finland has magical powers when it comes to ET and ruling out stfu? completely would be niave, they've shown much prowess in getting this far and are more than capable of winning this match should decem stay off the finlandia!

Report - stfu can take pride in the fact that they gave Impact a real run for their money despite the 4-0 Scoreline. Having been fullheld on Supply they then took the lead but outlasting Impact on the first stage only to be undone at the end by some sneeky work from gifty on the construction stage. On Goldrush they looked to have given up but had a real chance in the final moments to come away with a win only to once again have their hopes dashed. It was a very enjoyable evenings entertainment, capped off by 2 triple rifle frags from Iron.
