A Crossfire year in review - Part 1

Who the heck does their year in reviews in July? Infact, who the heck does their year in review two months after the year was up? Me of course! This is the Crossfire 14 month year in review, which will be a little bit of a blog and review of what has gone on over the past year and hopefully shed a little light on a few things that maybe you didn’t know at the time.

CGS loves Call of Duty

The Championship Gaming Series is the biggest thing to ever hit gaming in the western world. However, for every action there is a reaction, and when the CGS bought exclusive rights to CounterStrike Source, the reaction was that Call of Duty suddenly became the alternative.

Here comes Quakewars - Part 3 The Review

Well here it is, verging on three weeks later than previously expected the TosspoT ET:Quakewars review!

I dont envy Adacore

Its funny how I also seem to play devils advocate in these cases but just like with RazZ I think there is a case for the defence. Shy and Keran are both pending a ban from Clanbase which would see one of the most successful teams in 2007 expelled from Eurocup XV and yet there is something of a grey area to be examined. I'm not interested in defending them, simply highlighting the difficulty of the decision ahead.

The missing piece of the puzzle?

Finally hegemony has been dethroned and we actually have a competitive scene, the missing piece of the puzzle? (No not my Quakewars 3rd part, that comes this weekend) But a little thing called school!

Here comes Quakewars - Part 2 of the Blog

It was just a week before CPC2 when I got an email inviting Crossfire to attend an Activision and Splash Damage held PR day for ET:Quakewars in Bromley, England. I quickly rethought my travel plans for CPC (yes that meant I was going to be late for my own lan) and headed to 'saaarfff' London.

What a Day!

Here in Enschede the dust has barely settled on day one and day two is not far away from starting. Whilst the RTCW players will get their chance to shine in a five team tournament that prompts memories of the good ol’ days, it will undoubtedly be the shock results of Day one that is foremost in spectators feelings.

CoD teams in a pickle

As serious gaming waved goodbye to their CoD2 squad, another of Europe’s tier two MultiGaming organisations waved goodbye to the game and it was another rude awakening from the dream of CoD2 entering the pro circuit.

Dignitas' next top model!

Multigaming giants Dignitas, have this week confirmed that they will be shuffling their cards in both ET and CoD for CPC2, in this rather speculative and fun column, I analyse where next they may head. Dignitas have one of the biggest wardrobes in gaming, with hooded jackets, t-shirts and more, so this really is the race to become Dignitas’ next top model!
