Takens take 2: the boring part of the trilogy

On the menu this week:
A short look on whats happened since last time
Too many interviews
EMS week 1 predictions

Takens take 1: This party is about to get started!

After reading Splodge's dooms day prophecy yesterday I decided to write an article on whats actually happening in the ETQW community and shed some light on what the near future holds. Takens take will be a regular article series, in witch I will try to write somewhere between every week and ever second week depending on.. well if I find the time. Dont take everything written here too seriously, this is written to entertain.

My multi-faceted interview!

A while back, I wrote an article about TF2 to promote the game as a real competitive alternative. The main motivation behind that article was to gather up any wayward gamers and lure them into the world of rocket jumps and uber-charges. I knew before I began to compose that article, that our community was split/divided over what game to move onto in the coming future but reading Crossfire over the past few months, this has become ten times more apparent. Well, for me at least.

ETQW competition: The Beginning

With three weeks having now passed since the release of Enemy Territory: Quakewars, new teams have formed, older teams have died and thousands of euros are being invested into tournaments. One can only wonder where quakewars is going, with the amount of players and interest increasing day by day. However, for much longer than 3 weeks now have teams been forming, with many competitions and thousands of dollars being put into the game even before it's release.

Quake Wars in Motion

This article covers the whole Movie Making prodcedur from setting up Quake Wars, up to rendering the TGA Files to a Video File. Since this article is based on my own experience and i cannot be sure that all i wrote here is correct i do not consider this as a tutorial!

This article is (as always) also available as a PDF file: http://www.myhannes.info/stuff/movie/QuakeWars/Tutorials/EnemyTerritory-QuakeWars_in_motion.pdf

Team Fortress 2 ; A real alternative?

This site has posted a lot what about Quake Wars and CoD4 recently, so I thought I would write and article about Team Fortress 2 for all the people that think QW and CoD4 are simply just not their cup of tea. I'm not saying TF2 is the way to go if you feel this way, (Well, on an entirely biased level, I am :P) but as the title of the article suggests, could this be a real alternative?
