The cZar is dead!

image: czarbanner
cZar gaming who have created their own little corner in the gaming world have today closed their doors. The team that twice hosted belgian ET teams aswell as CoD teams have decided enough is enough!

cZar will merge with the former Z-Partito organisation now known as Logitech.Fi in what is a case of one big finnish fish eating a smaller one. cZar will bring across just one side, their warsow division will make the transition, however nothing else will move with them, inparticular their ET division who will still attend CPC but not under the Logitech banner.

The cZar management who move across to Logitech will be reunited with their successful Call of Duty squad, who also played for Idle. Under the cZar brand the side enjoyed their most successful period, winning the Playz lan February 06.

Quote by NeqquFor some time now I have been scrolling through different teams and different games trying to find suitable players to continue Team Logitech.Fi success. After finally meeting up with Wallu made me realize that i wasnt only needing new good players but also people working beside me, behind our players making them possible to focuse what they do best. Combining now the management of cZar Gaming under the name Team Logitech.fi and also having 3 new Warsow players i finally can relax and share my work to people that i have learned to trust. I believe we are going to have fun at the future so welcome cZar =)

The finnish scene now sees a two way split in the multigaming organisations between Logitech and Insignia Cadre, however one of the most successful CS teams in the business still homeless are infact finnnish, none other than 69°N-28°E.

EDiT win WZZRD CPC CoD Qualifier

image: cpc2
Team EDiT has managed to secure the last spot for the Crossfire Prizefight Challenge in a convincing manner.

In the final they beat Rubber Duckies with 21-8 on Burgundy and Carentan. Third place goes to the Belgians from In Rectum Love. Last is Knights.

Groupstage

EDiT 13-2 KnightS - Toujane
IRL 12-16 Duckies - Burgundy (4-2 overtime win)
IRL 12-3 KnightS - matmata
EDiT 13-7 Duckies - dawnville
Duckies 13 - 4 Knights - Toujane
IRL 4-13 EDiT - Matmata

Group Standings

1. EDiT 3W
2. Duckies 2W 1L
3. IRL 1W 2L
4. KnightS 3L

Play offs:
Consolation Final: Knights 2-16 In Rectum Love
Grand Final: EDiT 21-8 RubberDuckies

Recap:

EDiT's victory in the group stage over the Duckies was a close affair with some excellent CoD being played, but the win has left them with a place in the grand final and only IRL left to play. EDiT is the favourite to win the Wild Card for CPC #2, but Rubber Ducks already proved that there something to win against team EDiT.

IRL needed to beat EDiT to have at least a chance of qualifying. However, EDiT denied them any chance on Matmata as they proved to be adaptable enough to deny any attempts by the Belgians.

In the final, EDiT rose to the occassion by the likes of Linden who was on fire for the team. Especially on Carentan the Dutch player was a huge contributor to the 9-0 win on Carentan.

Modus take down Adversus in Aus thriller

The biggest rivalry in Australian ET comes to a head tonight as hotshots Adversus take on Modus Operandi. A rivalry that has seen many a tough word said between the two will now come to a head after modus challenged the number one ranked team and back to back champions in the gamearena season 9 ladder, Adversus.

Without too much difficulty most ET fans will remember Modus from their time in Dallas at Quakecon 2005. However come 'The Ashes' match between Australia and Europe it was Adversus that not only ruled the roster but also were the reigning champions from down under. Infact adversus have beaten modus the last 5 times they've met.

And just to confound a current European debate, the match will be played best of 5 on Supply Depot!

Australia Modus 3-0 Australia Adversus
Time: 12:30 CET

Modus Operandi:

Australia Shaggy (c)
Australia ikez0r
Australia chevron
Australia serp
Australia haste
Australia trac1d

Adversus

Australia Iceman34
Australia noname-
Australia riCo
Australia dersaidin
Australia HM
Australia turismo[/hide]

Report

Modus were simply too hot to handle as they rolled back the years in a 3-0 whitewash of their arch rivals. It was former advs' Ike's first victory over his old teammates and in the final round he delivered the finnishing blow with highest damage and kills. Though he may steal the headlines Chevron will take a notable chunk of the applause with an equally superlative display as engineer. Advs big guns Iceman and HM certainly pulled off some nice multi kills but it wasnt enough to stop the rot as MO ran out comfortable winners in this best of 5 game.

ixus get serious

Netgamez champions and shgOpen winners ixus have made their exile from gamings elite organisations very short having found themselves a new home with serious gaming!

The organisation that once housed the artists formerly known as Check6 have today made a swift move to pickup the current CoD hotshots. After being removed from digitalMind for lack of stability the side had their reputation tarnished, but resiliance at Netgamez and a seamless transition of solz for kasparov made serious think seriously about CoD2 once again. This leaves the new serious gaming CoD lineup for CPC2 like this:

Netherlands r1k
Netherlands nutec
Netherlands zem
Netherlands rapz
Netherlands Kasparov

NETRunners take on zP!

image: 1OGC
Amidst the Masters and CPC preparations a rare treat has fallen upon our laps this evening as two CPC frontrunners go head to head for 100 euros in the Online Game Challenger show match.

Both sides will feel they've a real shot of walking away with the cash as they're both in hot form going into the match with the ET Masters a testament to their success. NETR face TLR on Monday, and zP face Auxilia on Wednesday. However these two sides are no strangers to one another, having met in 6on6 in the Clanbase Eurocup group stages with NETR losing 4-0, all be it without star player Kot. However, NETR scored their own 4-0 victory over zP at PGA Lan in the 5on5 tournament.
This will be the biggest test so far of zP's CPC roster which features Quake 2 and KiH legend Sweden FeTTe, his integration will be a key pointer as to whether the side have any chance of turning second into first anytime soon.

Europe zeroPoint! 0-4 Poland The NETRunners
Time: 22:00 CET
Maps: sw_Goldrush & Supply
ETTV: GamesTV.org
Shoutcast: Inside the Game

Report

zeroPoints for zeroPoint after The NETRunners made them look average at best. First stage on supply depot was over in 40 seconds, and the poles dominance continued as they charged through a non existant zP defence to set a time of just under 7 minutes. zP to their credit answered back on supply offence with an equally fast attack, but Chester was to save NETR with a 2 on 1 on the stairs stopping Gifty and then Darky getting to the controls. With SD in the bag, NETR held zP for 5 full minutes on the first stage and look like they could sit at the bank stage for the full 10 minutes remaining, they eventually buckled but with 13+ minutes to defend, it didnt matter. Their attack was slick and zP's defence made you question whether this is the same team that took second in EC & shgOpen, let alone the team that beat NETR 4-0 in EC last season.

Update: For the time being, only two spots remain available for the tournament, for those that are considering to enter the competition, please make yourselves heard ASAP by contacting Cash by email at cash at clanbase dot com

After numerous inquiries for the spot left by the departing Slovenia oxid, we've been working with our sponsors at WZZRD to create an exciting way of offering the last place.
