We already saw some surprising games in the still young Call of Duty 4 area and one of the surprising teams is eyeshow. They managed it, to get to the finals in the #1 and #3 Tek-9 Powercup. Even teams like eSuba ( 13-10 ), EDiT ( 13-06 ) or Legendary ( 13-05 ) couldn't stop the german/austrian team, which is currently looking for a new organization to be prepared for the upcoming lan events.
And for that case they recruited their new team manager Mike "sCARFACEEe" Long, well known from his time in Tek-9.
Still they have to replace the former captain neonrrr, who decided to go inactive after that great matches by his team.

The guys are great, all good fun and have the potential to do very well within the Call of Duty 4 scene. Unfortunately, when I took the team onboard, neonrr went into inactivity. But that hasn't stopped the team from playing well and getting far in the TeK-9 Power Cup's, so hopefully we can continue this progression further.

Four months have passed since we saw the latest CoDQCup holding their well known CoD
2 online tournament. 2007 was the year where the Swedish admin team hosted 7 cups and gave out prizes for nearly 10,000 Euros. In those 7 cups Logitech.fi managed it to grab a place under the top 3 for five times and they will try to repeat that success in 2008.

Cause the CoDQCup is back. They recently opened the signups for their first Call of Duty 4 tournament. The signups will close on the 8th of January, but already over 150 Clans signed up for the Cup. Including teams like EYEBALLERS, 4 Kings, oXmoze, Logitech.fi and many more.

We will start off with allowing 128 teams. First there will be a Qualifier round. It will be played with 32 groups with 4 teams each. Group winner advances into the “real” CODQCUP. 2nd and 3rd team will face each other In a Single Elimination round, best of 3 maps and the winner goes to the CODQCUP.

After the ESL hosted two qualification Cups for the German ET:QW teams we've slowly come to an end. Twenty teams were fighting for a spot in the Final and tonight it will be Team SPEED-LINK, coming from the Winnerbracket, versus eGamespoint, coming from the Lowerbracket.

The match will be live at 21:00 CET and eGp has to beat SPEED-LINK two times in a row, to grab the 1st place in that cup, including the following prizes:

1. Place: 6 x Raptor-Gaming M2 Platinum Gaming Mouse & 3 Months ESL Premium Account
2. Place: 6 x Raptor-Gaming P3 Mousepad & 2 Months ESL Premium Account
3. Place: 1 Month ESL Premium Account

After recent lineup problems of Team SPEED-LINK.etqw, especially at the their latest Lan, the Northcon, they added another player to their roster.
With Tore urtier Trimpop another former ET Player joined the ET:Quakewars Team of Speedlink.

urtier won nearly everything, what a player could win in ET.
He won Quakecon 2006, SHG Open 2007, Crossfire Lan #1, Eurocup XIII and Eurocup XIV, ESL IPS #1 and many more other events and he was well known for his FieldOp skills in the ET Scene.

His first Match for SL could be the upcoming game versus eGamespoint on Sunday, which is the Grand final of the ESL Cup Series. ( Matchlink )

The second round of the Crossfire QCup is nearly done, and we had some great and interesting matches. Whilst H2k lost after a decider versus Random Gaming, the other favorites were marching on.
We saw three matches, with the germans facing scandinavians, but like in World War II, the germans failed again and ocrana is the only german team left in that competition.

Today was the first match day for the ET:QW Qcup tournament.
One of them was eGamespoint versus Team-phonetic, which has been casted by Splodge from QuadV.

Ark: egamepoint set out with a point to prove and did just that, destroying the generator and constructing the mining laser in just over 2:30 minutes. From them on phonetic were going to struggle to withstand the attacking team but for 3 extra minutes they held on to give themselves a chance in their attack.
Phonetics attack on Ark never really got started and were held at the generator stage for the full time limit. They were no match for the concrete tactics used by egamepoint and clever use of the Titan and roofs made their defence unbreakable.

Island: Phonetic started off slowly on their attack with them taking around 6-7 minutes to get their hands on the data discs, from then on it was reletively easy for them to complete the final objective and managed to set a respectable time of 8:45 egamepoint's weak final stage defence left them with some work to do, however a fast attack on the first two stages enabled them to leave themselves 3 minutes to transmit the data disks, however a string effort from phonetic meant that the objective was completed with just 30 seconds to spare.

FlyingDJ will be live on air tonight, for ESL TV.

He will cast the semifinal of the 2nd ESL ET:QW Cup Series, where ocrana versus KomaCrew. The Match will be live at 22:00 CET and both teams will do their best to get the a spot in the final. The maps will be Island and Volcano.

After a doublefullhold on Volcano ocrana set a time of around 18mins on Island which they couldnt defend, so they lost that map and the game with 3-1.

Maybe some of you have heard about the Movie project about Speed-Link.CoD.
Maybe some of you thought it's dead and will never be released, but now the time has
come and Speed-Link released their Movie, called
“Faszination eSports – Unterwegs mit Team SPEED-LINK.CoD”.

More than 1:37 hours of documented film about a complete LAN-weekend, looks behind the scenes, interviews with all players of the team and further inside information concerning the team, which no one knew about until now, are awaiting you in this unique documentary. The movie has been produced by Matthias Lorenz, who did not only record the necessary footage himself but also took a very huge part in the entire planning, implementing and cutting the scenes for this movie. Next to his work the entire Call of Duty 2 team brought some new ideas and notes to the table that he could implement to make this movie as perfect as possible.

The main language of the movie is German with a German subtitle, but you can also select an English subtitle, that's why the size of the movie is around 1.9 gig. But that's the minimum version, means it doesn't include extras and has a lower quality. According to Michael “Trigger” Sowa that still makes an 8,5 out of 10.

The "Directors Cut" version has a size of 4,3 gig and is an .iso file, which includes a complete and extensive DVD menu with a lot of extras and outtakes, the possibility to select the chapter you wish to view, enabling subtitles in German or English as you personally prefer and finally the trailer of the movie.
