Requiem by Ultraviolet Productions

After over a year in the making, Ultraviolet Productions are proud to present their fifth movie - Requiem. This is a community frag highlights movie by Scotland-Max-, initially started in October 2008 after a long break from moviemaking since mAx Chapter 3. -Max- had this to say:

Quote by -Max-Since I've already released a clan movie with one4one Decimated and a single player movie with mAx Chapter 3, I felt that it would be a good idea to finish off my ET moviemaking career with a community movie open to everyone. The response was overwhelming and I ended up looking through about 2Gb of demos resulting in frag scenes from players all over the world. I just want to quickly thank all of those who sent demos for the movie and I'm sorry if they didn't make it into the final cut, but I wanted to keep the movie as short as possible. Originally it was going to be six minutes but I decided to add an introductory song for the first minute so I could fit in some more frags.

Although I took lots of breaks from the project during production, it is without a doubt the movie I've worked the hardest on out of my three major releases. For example, every single ET sound you hear was added manually, as well as every single popup. Although a very long and tedious process, I'm glad I decided to do it this way. Also, I hope to cater for everyone by including several audio tracks. The first audio track contains the music with lots of sounds to recreate the feeling of being ingame. The second contains the music with only a select few game sounds. The third contains only the music and the fourth contains the music plus a sort of directors commentary from myself. For anyone who's interested I used the upcoming Ultraviolet Media Manager software from Germany hannes to cut all the demos from the movie and include them in the download folder for your pleasure.

Finally, to help out with any prospective ET moviemakers, I included all of the Camtrace Camera files and my ET Movie Config in the folder. I hope you enjoy!

Demo Decoder [Update]

After lots of coding and tons of GUI dev / code I think its time to give the lib a little stress test.
I assembled a small program which will index all demos in the Application's parent path!

Note: If you have lots of demos in the Folder, it can take quite some time to start the scanning, this is normal!
Update:
  • Files have been updated to give better output
  • The index Method has changed (should be much faster starting now)
  • 64 Bits version added (the old one wont load properly on the 64Bits system!)
it would be nice if you guys could test this again and give feedback

What is this tool and why should I use it?
  • Because the API needs to be tested against as many demos / mods as possible.
  • The API will be able to cut / write demos, or search for specific frags / messages / events / you name it...
  • It scans all demos in it's parent directory and stores all gathered information in a SQL Database.
  • The Database can then be used with the MediaManager, which is not released yet.
  • Supported in this test release: ET, QL, Q3, RTCW.

Tech3 Demo API - 0.1

Hi there,

This project kept me busy the last months and i still cant get enough of it! So i would like to share the fun with you!

What is this API?
This API can read and write Demos that are recorded with the idTech3 Demo format. At the moment it supports Quake 3 and basically all their mods, and Enemy Territory with all their mods.
The API makes it fairly simple to get something done, in a very short time. It provides a simple way of hooking into some of the game events like gamestate parsed, snapshot parsed and so on.

What can I do with this API?
Simple. Pretty much everything. Change popups, remove spam, change frametimes, remove lag, change names (this is blocked for a reason), cut demos in pieces, YOU NAME IT.
One could for example write a plugin that outputs the normal ingame console and then pipes the file through statswhore or any similar program. Or one could even write a total new stats parser.
You have basically access to everything for now. I have no clue if this will change in the future, we will see.

How hard is it to get something done?
If you have basic programming skills it should be very easy. Everything is written in C#, the engine also.
Just go download the Visual Studio Express edition and start right away. Reference the attached DLL and keep us posted about your results.

  • Enemy Territory, and all their mods
  • Enemy Territory TV (experimental for now)
  • Quake3, and all their mods


Installation Instructions
  • Download the attached File.
  • Unzip it.
  • Start a new Project in Visual Studio.
  • Reference the DLL in the Project.
  • Check out the Examples and start right away.

Hi there,

what a day. About 12 hours ago, we were close to releasing the competition and pub version of wolfpro. After some good brainstorming however, we were able to come up with another solution. cvars! While we first thought that it is not possible without the SDK (esp. synced cvars) we were lucky enough to find a way!

So here we are! 12 hours later with a full powered 0.1 update!

Wolfpro Public Beta is here

Hi there,

like promised the private beta is now public! We had to fix a few minor issues and added some new features like:
  • Objective wont be visible to the enemies through walls anymore
  • Reworked revive so that you have instant revive, but you will have to be closer to the one you revive (yes we listen, see!)
  • Nades wont fly over the whole map anymore, still they will fly further than the retail patch
  • HUD has been reworked, thanks to crumbs for the feedback
  • Respawn times had been reworked (thanks to the forums and irc spam)
  • Added some kind of cvar "hack" (read readme) to make it easier to change / test spawntimes
  • Added proper reload sounds for the weapons if you are in drawgun 0 mode
  • Fixed most leaf animation (this was broken in the beta)

*UPDATE* ET Demo Scanner

Bored of watching your thousands of demos? Then i might have something for you...

About a year ago i introduced this piece of code in the uvMoviemod, but it wasnt really working back then. Since people dont stop asking me for a fix i quickly ported the ETQW version to ET.

So what can you do:
  • Define a Frag Range 1,...,n
  • Define a Time in seconds, in which the frag has to be done.
  • Define a timescale value (older computer should not turn that too high)
  • Or even scan the whole demo Folder!

Of course, all other features from the mod should work, but please do not ask for any modifications or fixes. I have stopped supporting this mod or ET...

Update: First of all, thanks to the guy who formatted the post :)
Then if you experience the mod skips frags, try a lower timescale. If the scanner still does not find the frag, be sure to pm me the demo.

Update 2: Added the scandemoFolder command (start a random demo and issue the command with its parameters)

Ive been working some time now on this release, while the changelog seems short, this is one of the bigger updates.

The ranked server protocol changed and saves lots of traffic now.
Stats can not be overwritten anymore.

Ingame Live Stats have been added, you can toggle them with
a binding similar to bind "key" "_stats". Those stats get update each "x" settings (changeable by serveradmins and defaulted to 20 seconds)
