We're almost done! The ESL Major Series VI Playoffs will end pretty soon. We only have 2 matches left from this edition, featuring 3 extremely good teams. Unfortunately, one of these teams will have to end their journey to Final, tonight, getting a prize money of 100 euros. The other one will have a chance to win the grand prize of 400 euros only if they will manage to win against the un-defeated team-dignitas.

Tonight we've got two AEF teams taking it up on a brand new map. Erdenberg will be the battlefield for a rematch between Impact Gaming and belgian Fraternity! On AEF these two teams fought it out in the first round of the Winner Bracket, which Impact won 4 to 0, but it surely wasn't such an easy win as the scores might make you believe. Belgian Fraternity went on to beat Overload, while Impact made it to the finals.
Tonight we will see the same two teams in a friendly (really?) showmatch to present the community the new map by sani, Erdenberg b1. You can read all about this new map here.

Next to two top teams we will also bring you the one and only owzo, who shined through as he casted numerous spectacular games at AEF. Not only will he be casting this match on an entirely new map (which ought to be a challenge), he will also be holding a postmatch discussion with both teams' captains for a broad analysis of the map and its architecture!
Now don't be shy and tune in this evening at 8:30 CET. In the meanwhile you can already test this map out on Killerboy's server: /connect 213.108.29.119:27960 ; password cbmatch

With the finish line for the Alienware Challenge in sight the latest challenge is similar to last weeks. In week 5 the contenders had to create a viral video and spread it as fast as they could, with the most hits being the victor.
The video theme continues this week, with the intrepid travelers being asked to recreate their favourite gaming moment in a video. Who knows what we will end up seeing.
The description on the Alienware Challenge Website was as follows:
For people wanting to vote on who they thought had the best viral video, which will also play a part in deciding the overall winner of the challenge, then you need to cast your votes here.

The Antwerp eSports Festival has finished and became a great success. Every team, every player and every admin liked the event, which resulted in the announcement of another ET LAN in Antwerp. Now it's time to look back and round up all the work that got ET to this event in the first place.
It all started with a column after CIC7. A lot of players wanted to have more LANs, more events for ET after the success story that CIC7 was. A retrospection on ET and its community lead to the ignition of the AEF project. Read back with nostalgia how all this came to be - ET is 7 and what is this? It didn't take long before we put things in motion with the follow-up column - Time for Antwerp!
The road towards AEF wasn't an easy one, and has had many struggles and set-backs. Some players doubted the possibilities of ET and its community - Can ET Compete Against COD4 and CSS At AEF? Yet we've proven them wrong, with 24 teams that paid we can surely be proud of ourselves that after 7 years we can still boast a decent top international playerbase.

The moment that we have all been looking forward has almost arrived. Team Dignitas is facing Impact Gaming in the Grand Finals of the Antwerp eSports Festival 2010 Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory tournament.
Dignitas are of course the undisputed and undefeated favorite entering the final, with a host of achievements matched by no-one other. However Impact have shown they are fully capable of causing a major upset. In the lower bracket final match against Rockit for example, who would have expected them to play such an impressive match on Frostbite, after playing an utmost close round on Goldrush and actually getting defeated quite comfortably by their opponents on Supply?
If Impact wants to win the AEF, they will have to dig very deep, facing an excellent side such as Dignitas, and having to beat them not only once but twice.

Rockit just eliminated Belgian Fraternity meaning the rise of the Belgium ends at the fourth position here at the Antwerp eSports Festival. Meanwhile Team Dignitas beat Impact Gaming in the upper bracket, meaning we will see a lower bracket final taking place between Impact Gaming and Rockit. Deja vu? Yeah, the same match took place yesterday, in which Impact took home an impressive yet not undisputed victory against the team sporting the German flag.
Rockit showed fair play in the first round on goldrush when one of Impact's players dropped due to a PC crash. Later Impact where in the zone on supply, not giving away many chances for Rockit to win.
The lower bracket final is going to be played on the grand stage here at the Antwerp eSports Festival, and should be viewable online on the H2kTV stream.
Update: Rockit are probably still confused of what just impacted them - Impact set a time of less than two minutes on frosbite! The Grand Final will be between Impact Gaming and Team Dignitas.
Rockit lose goldrush which means we are going to see a decider after a short break.
2:0 for Rockit thanks to a victory on supply, can Impact restore themselves or are we going to see a Rockit versus Dignitas final?
