Removal of Croatia, Netherlands and Finland

image: ncxiiblackbig2rv0

After a complaint about the lineup of team Croatia regarding the rule:

Quote by CB RulesPlayers are considered to still be members of any active clan they've been a member of (no matter how briefly) after 29th September 2008 until Monday of the 2nd Match Week of the cup. Activity for clans is defined as participating in any ClanBase competition (Hosted Cups and QuickCups which are not intended for National teams included, Friendlies excluded). Exceptions may apply.
National captains are expected to know the full clan history of any player they wish to field; not knowing it will not be an excuse to break this rule. If any doubt is possible about the membership of a certain player in a certain clan then the captain must always get permission from the supervisor before using that player. There is no limit on how many members of the same clan can be registered with a national team.

Nutty NationsCup

Scandal aside, we’ve a second consecutive magic Monday in store tonight with the final few matches of this seasons’ group stages being played out. It’s all eyes on Group B as pre-tournament favourites Finland take on the giant killing Czechs. Assuming by the time this match is played, Finland haven’t been expelled from the competition, it’s sure to be a cracker!

Current Group Standings

Czech Republic Czech Republic - 4/0
Finland Finland - 3/1
France France - 2/2
Netherlands Netherlands 2/2
United Kingdom United Kingdom 2/3
Austria Austria 0/5

To date Czech Republic are the only team of this tempestuous group to remain unbeaten. A record they're dead set on maintaining tonight. It’s a winner takes all spectacular in the penultimate match of ClanBase NationsCup Group B.

ClanBase Kicks 'Naughty' NationsCup

image: cblogo_160w ClanBase like to cause controversy, and have a reputation for inconsistently applying their rules. Last night, the Croatia Croatian team was kicked from this seasons ClanBase NationsCup for fielding more than the allowed number of players from one individual clan. Whilst this rule is clear - could it's application have wider consequences for the competition as a whole?

The rule states:

Quote by ClanBasePlayers are considered to still be members of any active clan they've been a member of (no matter how briefly) after 29th September 2008 until Monday of the 2nd Match Week of the cup. Activity for clans is defined as participating in any ClanBase competition (Hosted Cups and QuickCups which are not intended for National teams included, Friendlies excluded).

With Europe H2k-Gaming facing Finland MASCULINE MANS the 1st Division of the 6on6 Winter League, Enemy Territory’s highest competition this winter, will come to an end. While H2k-Gaming comes into this match without any loss and six wins in a row, MASCULINE MANS successfully found its way through the loser bracket and is now looking for revenge after losing the winner bracket semi final against H2k-Gaming with 0-4.

That’s what we’ve all been waiting for – the essence of gaming! The most important cup is just about to start. With 268 signups popping up, Belgium Bartichello and Germany mUnduS had a hard job to select decent participants. After evenings full of discussion, much perspiration poured out, they have published EuroCup XIX invites.

This season will be different. Everything because 6 clans were directly invited while 20 clans will have a chance to prove that they’re invite worthy. With 4 more teams on qualifiers level, you will be able to watch 10 thrillers. Without further ado – here’s the list of top guns:

Japan vs Hungary - Group C

Sunny Saturday approaches with yet more ClanBase NationsCup action - and it could be a controversial one! The Eastern warriors of the Orient have impressed to date, taking straight map victories off every team bar group leaders Belgium, and in this their last match of the group stages, need only win to secure the second place spot.

The form book, and the GamesTV odds put Hungary as massive underdogs for this clash - having yet to take a map in the competition, let alone a match. But there's nasty rumours abound of sportsmanship from the Hungarian team, that perhaps, at the very least, they might force one map to be played on a European server - severely handicapping Japans chances. Should Hungary do this, Japan could take respite from one fact - fellow second place rivals Estonia will face the inform Belgians, and so a loss might just be enough to scrape the second place having already taken down Estonia in match week two.

With the match server as yet unknown, could Hungary pull a fast one to avoid the wooden spoon?
