It's that time gentleman where the men separate themselves from the boys and step into the CODQCUP finals. That's right, it's TeK-9 vs The6Devils Winners Bracket Finals for www.callofduty.se CODQCUP.

This time things are slightly different as both teams play the bash round to decide who will play on which teams map first. In a Best of 3 format this match could go the distance as we prepare for a night of carnage. Should we reach that deciding map it will be on Strike.

TeK-9 have come through the knockout stages relatively unscathed unlike the group stages where they found themselves finishing 2nd after a defeat to MYTEAM 13-7 on Backlot. In the knockout stages however they've performed well knocking TLR, Speed-Link, Serious Gaming and xcite down into the losers brackets across a mix of maps.

Recovering from defeat in the group stages to Fnatic they were soon to seek revenge finishing 2nd in the stages. A plethora of multigaming clans have been swept aside in their charge for the finals: Esuba, not identified, Fnatic, Dignitas all put to the sword by the industrious Germans.

The big question remains, what will the map choices be? Both teams found themselves on the losing end of Backlot so that could well feature, or will it be the ever popular Crash and Crossfire.

A new Multigaming organisation is born. The former GROF.QW member Luke Baldrick Cotton has just announced his new project Epsilon eSports. The clan starts with teams in seven different games, supported by Puma, Gigabyte and Smith & Stewart.

Battlefield 2, Crysis, Counterstrike: Source, Halo 3, C & C 3, Call of Duty 4 and ET: Quakewars are the games, which get the support by epsilon esports. Whilst one of those teams is the former Quakewars Squad Kompaniet, the Call of Duty 4 Squad is noone else then the former DIE / kojak team.

Later this week the Official competition mod for Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars created by SplashDamage will enter beta stage. Though its not 100% sure what kind of beta, a public beta is most likely the case. The mod touches various aspects of the game including some minor gameplay changes, though most features are controllable by the user.

The mod source code will also be released, this means mod designers can continue on working on improving the official pro mod with their own features!

SD community manager Badman has revealed some of the features this mod offers;

* Added ability to permanently enable XP unlocks such as Faster Sprint, Grenade Launcher, Reduced Weapon Spread, Extra Clip, and Scoped Assault Rifle.

* Added ability to toggle camera between killer and nearby medics when unconscious.
* Added ability to automatically record demos and take screenshots of scoreboards.

Here it is, another update for the Infinity Ward shooter Call of Duty 4.
In 1.5 some major bugs in the multiplayer game have been fixed, like the reload bug when you connect on a modded server.


Changes:
* Fixed server browser not showing all of the servers
* The "hold [ ] to steady" sniper scope hint will only appear if you can use it
* Fixed game not recognizing IWDs existing if they are all in fs_basepath and none are in the main/ folder
* Made mod scripts able to change stats
* Allow developer_script for mulitiplayer modding
* Fixed map rotation errors with usermaps
* Fixed minimap not showing up in the menu for usermaps
* Mod tools will now work with other languages


Grab the patch update from 1.4 to 1.5 here, but remember that 1.4 servers wont work and you are in need to update your CoD to 1.4 before you install the 1.5 patch.

Due to problems with teams rosters and what not, we now have spaces available in the Quakewars and Call of Duty tournaments at CDC4, I can also confirm the Warsow status.

But now it's here. The first official release of an ET:QW Promod version.

Team Coolermaster have today announced their second Call of Duty 4 roster, this time with a European flavour to it by picking up the former eyeshow team and swiss superstar, Gifty.
The side will be focusing on I33, an event that team manager scarface holds close to his heart, as hes been actively working to promote it and is on the administration team for the tournament.

Because its Opening Cups came to a close not too long ago and with the Major Series' playoffs reaching the final stage, things started to get a little quiet at the Electronic Sports League side of things. Therefore, in addition to the recently announced third Weekend Cup, a set of Winter Cups has been announced yesterday. Because they act as somewhat as the second cup season, they're simply the successors of the Opening Cups, so the 6on6 and 4on4 game modes will be used.


Two registration portals were created for either game mode, and signups for both of them were opened yesterday at 20:30 CET. You have until 23:59 CET on Saturday February 9, 2008 to sign your team up for one or both of the tournaments. The first match week has been planned to start 24 hours after the signup deadline. Information regarding the Winter Cups' structure has not yet been released, as this depends on the number of participants.

You can expect the Winter Cups took take considerably less time to finish than the Opening Cups, though, as plans were announced to maintain a tighter schedule in order to provide a more lively cup. A match week will actually take a week, and no longer; if no result has been entered by then, the fixture will be forfeited or a random result will be forced. We return once again to the Live2Win Call of Duty 4 League for One2 vs Roskilde. Both teams have fairly new rosters much like everyone else in CoD4 currently but both teams have potential to succeed in the Live2Win League.

One2 come into the match with a walkover and a win of 13-1 but have missed a full roster to practise with due to other commitments.

Roskilde are taking a rather casual approach to the Live2Win competition opting to focus more on upcomming lans. However I have no doubt the moment the match goes live the natural competitive nature of gamers will take over.

With a full lineup since 1 week ago we haven´t been able to practice the way we should have, and our teamplay could have been better. But lately we have played fairly good on vacant and I believe we can give any team a good fight on the map, if we have a good day. I don´t know anything about Roskilde, and the info I´ve been given about the team has varied alot. So it´s a blind date. :)

About cod4 I think it´s much fun to play, better than any other game I´ve played competativaly.. tho I don´t fancy the mode. S&D (cs and cod) has always had too much luck involved, and that together with exploding cars that can whipe out a whole team and extreme deviation makes it to random.
