OVERLOAd back to W:ET

image: 7xwhesz

Europe OVERLOAd Gaming is proud to announce its latest Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory team, one which will attend European's largest event; the Crossfire Devotii Challenge 4 under its banner. The team is well known for ending 4th at the last CDC3 and getting an direct invite to compete at the upcoming CDC4, it is composed of Dutch players.

You probably guessed who we're talking about already, however while the following names are probably well known for the players from the Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory scene we will shortly introduce them for those who are not. We thank Netherlands BuLL for the great player descriptions.

Clanbase ET NC!

Almost one month after the applications for this year's Nationscup had been opened, the results have been made public. Clanbase had to struggle through a mass of registrations this year, and they had to make some difficult decisions. After all they managed to set up a list with the selection of the teams who received a direct invite, and with the nations who will have to proove themselves worthy by passing a qualifier. In the following list you can see all the invited nations with their captains:

These teams have been directly invited, and do not have to play a qualifier anymore. The team captains of these nations are asked to contact their national manager a.s.a.p. in order to be added to the country account:

ESL Major Series - Playoffs kick off tonight

image: ems Just some days after we have announced the playoffs for the ESL Major Series, the first round kicks off today featuring two hot and enthralling matches. Poland DEFAULT.Team, the former team of Frag eXecutors, against Sweden Kompaniet and Germany Team SPEED-LINK against Germany OCRANA are today's fixtures. The German duel will also be shown on a videostream, read on for more datails.

The duel between Germany's finest teams is a match many are really looking forward to. OCRANA, in the first weeks after the release of ET: Quake Wars the dominating team in the German ET:QW scene, struggled a lot in the last weeks and lost their top position to Team SPEED-LINK. But nevertheless, we saw them winning quite easily all matches in the ESL Major Series group stage and are happy to welcome them to the playoffs.

CoD4 Invites & Qualifiers *UPDATED*

Somewhat later than initially hoped, here are the CoD4 invites and seeds. A combination of volume and lack of information has made this a very difficult task so we ask teams to be understanding when looking at our separation. We have Invited 30 Teams and split the Qualifiers into two, so 20 teams will play the first round and then play 10 new teams to decide the signups.

We took a mixture of top players to help with the decision, so much thanks to Mick, Trigger, Doekoe and mint for their assistance!

Expansion & Qualifiers

As the ET community flexed its mighty muscle once again, the Crossfire team has bowed to the fierce demands of the community. Therefore, we swiftly adapted its qualifiers and direct invites.

There will be implications by allowing 16 teams on LAN, which will be decided upon later tonight and thus more info on this will follow very soon. However with the limited time at hand for the qualifiers to complete, we cannot wait with the qualifiers as they need to be completed by January 10.

The qualifiers for ET:QW have also been altered as H2K and overload will not be able to attend either, next to nextlevel.

No changes have been made for Warsow. The direct invites and qualifiers for CoD4 will be released later tonight. All CoD4 teams bear in mind to be available to play in the upcoming two days between 20:00 and 23:00 CET.

We have selected teams on past performance, (future) potential, stability and last but far from least, the likeness of attendance. The latter might stir up the seeds if they were solely based on the strength of each teams, but based on our past experience from the previous Crossfire installments it came evident that we should include this variable.

Important: Cheater Policy[/b]]
In retrospect of the past events concerning cheaters, there is much uncertainty which players are banned or are legal to attend CDC4. To avoid any ambiguity, we ask ALL teams to post their final lineup on their clan profiles by midnight today. There are no exceptions.

This will allow everyone to see which players will be competing in the upcoming days.
Meanwhile, players can make an appeal for investigation of direct opponents on their eligibility to compete. This means that if you wonder if a certain player is illegal to compete, please make us aware (PRIVATELY) and we will investigate that player and hopefully come to prompt decisions.

Crossfire holds the right to ban at any time and therefore revoke qualifier match if a player turns out to be illegal nonetheless. It is the sheer responsibility of the team captain to be absolutely sure that his team is "cheater-free". We all know that certain players have a somewhat "blemished" record and we are sure that players are very well aware of this. Therefore, instead of trying to squeeze a player through the mazes of the rules, our suggestion is that you think of the long run benefits of playing with legal, clean players only and do the community a favor.

The Last Recruit

image: 7xkweaw

The current TLR.ET squad have been hitting the headlines with great impact lately. Having only formed a few weeks ago, they've already been forced to replace the flying dutchman Netherlands perfo after finishing 2nd in the previous Crossfire ETQCup, finishing behind Eurocup winners Germany MPG and ahead of CPC2, CDC3 and ET-Masters champions Europe aMenti. The replacer of perfo wasn't one who was expected however. One crossfire member stated the lineup was one step closer to becoming "a dream team" after the team announced the recruitment of the legendary Estonia Night.

With the winterbreak vast approaching, the team looked to be complete, however it was only until recent that the other dutchman from the original TLR.ET team concluded that he had not enough time to give to ET in regards to practise and competetive play. Netherlands teKoa will instead be taking up a backup role within the team due to the fact TLR.ET have picked up The Last Recruit.

The 6th member of the TLR.ET side comes in the shape and form of both an ET Quakecon and, 2 times ET Eurocup winner. Amongst those achievements, the player went on to become a sucessful Counterstrike: Source player, finishing 2nd at i29, LAN79 and Slap Live, on top of being crowned champion of the 3rd Starbytes LAN. In case you didn't guess who it is yet, his name is Sweden ferus, and he has today been confirmed as the 6th player of the TLR Enemy Territory side.

The lineup of the team now looks as follows:

England TLR.wzzrd - eVo ( manager and uber backup's backup )
Sweden TLR.wzzrd - ferus
Finland TLR.wzzrd - Iron
Estonia TLR.wzzrd - Night
England TLR.wzzrd - Sheep
Finland TLR.wzzrd - Squall
Malta TLR.wzzrd - toxic

Netherlands TLR.wzzrd - perfo ( backup )
Netherlands TLR.wzzrd - teKoa ( backup )

The team will hopefully be jetting off to CDC4 in a few weeks time, as well as competing in other online tournaments.

srs presents cod4 lineup

With the change from Cod2 to Cod4 Serious has gone through a few changes in its line up. After the retirement of Michiel 'rapz' Kappen a few months ago, and Nick 'Solz" Schurink going inactive with the introduction of Cod4, they had the task to fill the two open spots with worthy successors.

Over the last few weeks they have been testing several players which resulted in the addition of two new upcoming stars, Bob 'supreme' Janssen and Roman 'Roman' Semjonov.

The changed Netherlands Serious.Cod4 line up for 2008 looks as following:

Netherlands Niels 'Zemme' van Steenbergen
Netherlands Siebe 'nutec' Huisman
Netherlands Rick 'r1k' Smit
Netherlands Bob 'supreme' Janssen
Netherlands Roman 'roman' Semjonov

Serious.Cod4 currently competes in several ClanBase cups and the CoDQCup. The first LAN you can see the new team live in action will be CDC4, scheduled at the end of Februari in Enschede, the Netherlands.

Statement Serious:
"We are very happy to add these two new upcoming stars to our line up. Both players have made a great impression during their trial period in the team, and convinced us they were the right players to fill the open spots. We are very confident with this team we can maintain our status of being one of the best teams out there!"

Statement Netherlands Bob 'supreme' Janssen:
"I'm really happy to join a team like Serious Gaming, they are very well known in the Call of Duty community thanks to all their previous successes. They have got a lot of knowledge and LAN-experience and I can't wait to reach the same results with my new team as they did in Call of Duty 2! Shoutouts to everyone from Serious Gaming and ofcourse my old team Koppensnellers. Cu at crossfire lan!"

Statement Netherlands Roman 'roman' Semjonov:
"After playing a few months in team-ephix I realized this wasn’t the team for me. When the chance occured to trial for one of the vacant spots in the Serious line up I decided this would become my spot. So obviously now I'm very happy to be joining Serious Gaming. It's a real honour to play in a top team like this and hope we will dominate the Call of Duty 4 scene as these guys did in Call of Duty 2."

LowLandLions add one

The Belgian Call of duty 4 team, Belgium LowLandLions (L3) have added a new player to their lineup, because of former player Belgium Bocerb'O has moved to the management of the team.

The new player is Belgium Restyle, who comes from the team dfiance is really happy with joining the Lions. He had the following to say:

Quote by Restyle A new year will mean a new clan for me , as I will join up with LowLandLions. I have had a lot of fun with dfiance but lately things havn't been going so well we had a lot of line up changes and the motivation was really at a low stake. I'm very pleased to team-up with low land lions since they are all nice guys and it's a good organisation. I hope dfiance is able to find a suitable replacement for me and i hope they will continue to play cod4. I wish them the best of luck in 2008.

With players moving spots, the lineup of the L3 looks as following:

Belgium Thomas 'Restyle' Billen
Belgium Tim 'ecu' Biesemans
Belgium Stevy 'Stevy' Verheyen
Belgium Benny 'yazzy' Verheyen
Belgium Jan 'Sticky' Craeynest

The LowLandLions are a team which are rumbling in the CoD scene from the end of the CoD2 period, after having a succesfull EuroCup. The team has suffered a few minor lineup changes over the past few months and therefore it can be considered as a rather stable team.

The belgians will also be participating on CDC4, and in the upcoming codQCup.

You can find them in #L3 - LowLandLions.com
