Cups don't come out of the blue, and you need people to organize them, and 'cover' them up. That is why I talked to our very own [CB] Bartichello and TosspoT:

Hello [CB] Bartichello, I’m sure you watched this exciting match aswell. What do you think about this EC’s winner? Did they earn it?

I saw them coast trough most of their games with ease. The only time they were in trouble was against the strong edit team. I think they fully deserved the win based on that. Only losing 1 map untill the grand final is quite a feat.

On bremen we saw your admins acting a bit clumbsy, do you blaim them for anything?

Yes especially Koe! ;) No not at all. Something happened beyond their control and they did what they could to keep the game going and to calm all of the players down. Even me or donex might have been somewhat upset there.

Drago’s panzer: skill or lotto?

A bit of both i recon. You can be as skilled as you want to be and never make such an important shot, but seeing drago pull that off was amazing. any other player might not have been able to do it, not counting Night on radar.

Will there be a next EC season for ET?

I hope so. Even when skill declines we get to see great games, amazing aim and players doing great stuff. We even got to see one of the most exciting finals to date. I think the next EC has the potential to be just as tense.

Well TosspoT, you provided coverage for crossfire and did most of the shoutcasts so you were able to see first hand the quality of this EC. What did you think of the games you witnessed and what game , besides the finals, made the biggest impression on you?

I really enjoyed ALOT of the games this season, I was saying this throughout the tournament, EDiT and stfu? played out some exciting matches that I saw early on in the season so really its a little hard to pick just one.

It didn't seem like there was any competition for megaProGaming up untill the point they faced EDiT again. Allot of the long time teams are quitting and there aren't really top skilled teams to fill in the immediate gaps. What is your opinion on this EC and the 'new top teams' out there.

Errrm, to be honest MPG had players that have been there or there about for many seasons so they were no surprise, Impact were no surprise and then EDiT were the next logical step up considering that. I didnt get a chance to see much of the group stages for the new EC teams, so I cant comment there but again this season was very exciting.

Do you feel megapro has what it takes to confirm their status once more in the Qcup and also take the gold there? After beating idle quite hard they do seem on top of their game.

I dont read anything into the Idle result, Idle are inactive, when they were active they didnt struggle. MPG have played at least 3 matches this week so they're in their stride and you'd expect them to be favourites, however TLR looked well drilled against aMenti so it'll be close.

It does seem mpg, edit and tlr are going to keep it up till at least after CDC4. what other teams do you see comming up to challenge them next season?

I think it'll be dependant on what Quakewars teams attend CDC, odd i know, but if H2k.QW go then it would be likely we'd get an aMenti lineup in the ET comp, I dont know what Dignitas and Idle are doing but they could be close. Its unlikely MPG are attending because keran is banned for using hacks, and weaK has signed up with another team

It is unlikely however that idle, dignitas or amenti will return for another EC season. maybe teams like cortana and incomplete will be able to be an even bigger challenge there?

Well maybe now is their time, there will always be a team of oldschoolers who will be there to beat and then there will be a big chance for new ducks to flap their wings and quack

I guess I shouldn't ask, but your best Eurocup moment of this season?
I suppose i'll just put drago+panzer=omg

I think the word sensational sums it up best! dragos panzer was quite amazingyou can hear it again here; http://www.quadv.com/content/view/302/60/

Seeing this season what are your expectation on the Nationscup coming up early 2008?
Alot of teams like EDiT , Cortana and megapro have fielded the top players from their country.

Do you think with 3 new, possibly unknown, players these two nations will be up for the challenge or do you expect major upsets?

I've always said that nationscup doesn’t get interesting until the quarter finals/semi finals, until that point the teams dont put in enough effort to be classed above 'mix' so tbh theres no way being upset over mix results

Well Belgium and Germany are 2 nations that tend to get to that stage quite often. Maybe because of this, their chances would deminish a bit?

Well they still have active top teams so maybe not :P

Ok well thanks for your time!
