MagnuM- Entry:
I play this game many years and I have my own clan... we are LAN :)
- Q&A:
Q: Can you introduce yourself for the players that are rather new to the scene?
A: No response given to this question
Q: Why do you think you are the best man for the job?
A: because I have a very good tactic, a very good skill, very good teamwork, etc.
Q: Do you already have a line-up in mind and will you be able to get the people you want?
A: of course I have, and I think we will reach a lot, we just need someone who would like to push us a step forward
Q: Would you mind giving us a sneak-peak in your cards and give us this line-up? (including backups)
A: of course I would not mind, I'm happy because someone thinks so well as I do :-)
Q: What is your goal with this team and how far do you think you can go with this line-up?
A: Well, with this line up to get very far, as I said we just need someone who would push us, who would like to make our push for the big tournaments, for example where the game SK Gaming, fnatic, Na 'etc. You. I'm sure these guys could do something just kept training and that's it :-)
Conclusion:
Based on his application entry and his answers to my questions it doesn't really look like
MagnuM knows what he signed up for. I also doubt that he'll be able to field a line-up for his nation. However we'll see what comes out and what Clanbase will do with his application so time will tell what to expect here.

This Year's Applicants:
embarrassed- Entry:
play the least amount of League of Legends therefore I am the most qualified.
- Q&A: I haven't received a reply from embarrassed yet.
anim- Entry:
I have played more League of Legends than embarrassed... I also captained the team every year except one where punkk did it (and then I did all the work after). I already have an idea of the lineup talked to a few peeps.
- Q&A:
Q: Can you introduce yourself for the players that are rather new to the scene?
A: I'm bN/brandoN/anim from Canada been playing for 7 years? Too long to count... played in countless nationscups; captained most.
Q: Why do you think you are the best man for the job?
A: I think I'm the best for the job because I have experience captaining the team, I also have contact with all the players that I want in the lineup and we have the most chemistry from our nation. If someone else was chosen; those same players may not feel the same way if other people were chosen in the lineup.
Q: Do you already have a line-up in mind and will you be able to get the people you want?
A: Yes definitely; I've got a 5 man roster lined up, with the 6th position available for tryouts probably to make it fair. We've kept the same core of players throughout the years and I think that's what made us successful the last 2 where we actually made playoffs.
Q: Would you mind giving us a sneak-peak in your cards and give us this line-up? (including backups)
A: So far I have myself, rockstAr, rossko, monkey, sHAUN confirmed as the lineup with the 6th and backups between Tomun, punkk, Empty, embarrassed, Brisk, rito and whoever else is interested in trying out.
Q: What is your goal with this team and how far do you think you can go with this line-up?
A: My goal with this team is for us to get 6 on every time; no forfeits, attempt to win our group stage and make playoffs. I think our biggest challenge is adapting to 6v6 since only a few of us have been practicing 6v6 since we reverted back. Ultimately though, we have the potential to make it deep in playoffs especially with the lack of activity in EU.
Tomun- Entry:
I feel that I could bring out the most effective use of the HAM that lies within anim. Only as team captain would I be able to bring out the full potential of Canada and assemble a lineup that goes beyond the inner sense void, especially the mist. So, in order to unleash the inner sense and bring out the most successful lineup that Canada has to offer, I must attain captain status in order to make my nation and Parker proud!
- Q&A:
Q: Can you introduce yourself for the players that are rather new to the scene?
A: Well I'm a rather hardworking etplayer that strives to achieve his goals, one of which is leading team Canada to victory. I have been in the et scene for about 2 or so inner sense years now as an active scrimmer and 3 years as an avid spectator of Parker and his inner sense ways. I'm mostly known as Parker's inner sense apprentice in the North American community but try my best to always keep it professional despite the insults directed towards me. Also, I'm the director for Anim's new tv show "HAM Time with Anim" which will blow the fraggers off your knockers.
Q: Why do you think you are the best man for the job?
A: I'm a very dedicated player that takes everything et related seriously, with a reputation of never having even trolled nor insulted another player even once. I always try to keep it professional ingame and will make sure to try my best to keep the lineup under control. I will spend a lot of time coming up with the right strategies and consult the great Parker for any help that I may need.
Q: Do you already have a line-up in mind and will you be able to get the people you want?
A: Yes, I know that I can certainly get the people that I want. Only through the inner sense shall I attain the trust of others.
Q: Would you mind giving us a sneak-peak in your cards and give us this line-up? (including backups)
A: My main lineup would be as follows: Myself, Anim, Crimzon, Empty, rossko, and rockstAr. Backups: punkk, brisk, and monkey.
Q: What is your goal with this team and how far do you think you can go with this line-up?
A: Well Parker used to tell many stories of NA's past and how we are in need of a great leader in these dark times. Through my years of watching and playing with good North American players, I have realized just how much potential we truly have but we aren't trying hard enough to get to that high peak. I believe that someone like me certainly has the determination and the will to carry out such a difficult task. If I do end up becoming captain then I will make sure to put in a lot of my time into assuring that we get a rather successful lineup going and hopefully will give the other teams quite the challenge. With the jehad technique, the team will move at an incredible rate and combining that with the v-pattern, we will most certainly make Parker proud.
Conclusion:
By the looks of things I would bet on
anim here since he seems to be the only one (so far) that takes things seriously. However not having heard from both
embarrassed and
Tomun does not mean that they are less serious about this seasons captaincy eventhough their initial application entry might suggest so.

This Year's Applicants:
Casek- Entry:
Yes
- Q&A:
Q: Can you introduce yourself for the players that are rather new to the scene?
A: Well since M@x doesn't have that much time anymore, I'll take care of his position because the players of the team actually know me and they want me as their captain plus i'm active.
Q: Why do you think you are the best man for the job?
A: Actually i do not think that i'm the best man for this job, but since M@x doesn't have enough time to do it, i apply for this charge and actually the people agree with this idea, And i have expirience as leader with #Synergy.ET also M@x is my team mate in that team so we already know each other.
Q: Do you already have a line-up in mind and will you be able to get the people you want?
A: M@x, nozz, mercE, Wfd, Switer
we're not quite sure about our 6th since ImpulZ doesn't have internet at the moment.
Backups would be saMer and mgZa since they are always online and we don't really have anyone else^^
Q: What is your goal with this team and how far do you think you can go with this line-up?
A: Our goal is to have fun and play on a competitive way, so everyone in the team can ejoy the game, We're not quite sure about our performance since it's a new Line up with the most actives players of Chile, but not everyone have the same Team play. So until we create a nice Team play and a nice atmosphere we would not be able to beat any other Nation. But if we get those things we could be a worthy opponent for several nations.
Conclusion:
It will be interesting to see whether
Casek will be able to field a better line-up than
M@x. in the past. Let's hope he does and that
Team Chile can pass the groupstage for once or not finish last for once. Best of luck
Casek!

awsome job man !
You couldn't be arsed to verify whether all applies had a common sense (people applying for other countries).
Lol....The only words worth writing that this guy is a fucking joke, nothing else.
:XD
So, Simoon's apply doesn't seem to be a troll for you but Kamz does? :XD I'd like to remind you that Kamz was already the UK captain.
Overall, if you want to contribute, do some PROPER research next time.
Also, I don't like the layout but that's a subjective feeling.
I've tried my best finding out most obvious trolls. That's why SIMOON's application was removed alongside with some others before the votes were opened. The ones that are still in there are the ones that were allowed by ClanBase. I've based my article on the votes allowed by ClanBase so don't shoot me for the mistakes still in there. (referring to for example / IceQ here) This is also why I asked the community in my first comment to simply point out some obvious mistakes. Keep in mind I'm doing this freelance and am in no way connected to ClanBase or it's crew...
Kamz is inactive, unable to play himself due to lack of time yet is able to be captain? Even his application on clanbase states he's trolling. Thus I find it not worth mentioning. I'm not even one of the players that hates him. And yes I'm well aware of the fact he's been Captain before in the past.
And about the conclusions I wish to remind you that I've stated in my intro that these are my personal views. I didn't pick dialer simply because I find him arrogant in his answers and think he's the obvious pick for the job. As I said, that's my opinion.
Doesn't matter. You are here as a journalist. So provide proper information for your readers instead of asking them for correcting your mistakes.
Does a team captain need to play? Besides, if you want to go deeper by writing "Even his application on clanbase states he's trolling" - maybe that's a troll statement (and thus a serious apply?) You never know with Kamz +D
I know those are your conclusions, I was just laughing at your opinion about team PL capt. So basically, what pros and cons do you see @ dizel and dialer and why would you pick dizel over dialer? I'm just curious how did you make that pick.
Furthermore, as someone stated, you could've mentioned nations that played last NC but did not have a single applicant.
I'm not saying that it's perfect job, but you're being way too harsh here. There are/were some mistakes and some parts of the text could've been written in a better way, but you can't really argue about his personal opinions (you could argue about whether they belong to this type of article or not, though).
I would say that this article offers a good amount of necessary information for the voters and gives a good overall look of all the captain candidates. Interviews had good questions and the article included answers from most of the major candidates. I personally think that the format is decent. Of course it could've been better and more stylish like everything can, but atleast it was clear and simple.
Atleast I enjoy reading this type of articles and we don't have too many active contributors around here.. I guess you have some grudge against P5Y, because otherwise I can't really understand your comment
1. Mentioning SIMOON applying for Bahrain was pointless as it obviously was a troll, but there was a mention that the application was removed for the reason that SIMOON has previously played for France.
2. About Kamz.. best way to handle it would've probably to ask him for the answers and speculate the trolling part as a personal opinion, but taking a look at Kamz's original application I think that it's just fine to not take it as a serious application.
3. Some mix-ups with player names and NC/EC
I don't think that there were any major mistakes that disrupted my reading experience. How ever the writer could've gone through the text a bit more carefully to find the smaller mistakes. Of course the texts are always more enjoyable to read when there are no spelling mistakes and all the facts are correct.
What comes to the feedback, of course it is by far more useful to post your opinions and point out the parts you liked or disliked and why than just post a generic response like "good job". Constructive criticism is very important and writers should appreciate it a lot. I just don't think that you really succeeded in giving it by just pointing out those 3 parts in your original reply without giving any hint as to what's really wrong with them and how to improve. Also one of those pointed out parts was his personal opinion about the best candidate for Poland based on the information/answers provided by candidates and you can't really criticize him for that.
Do you really see these as proper feedback for the writer to improve for the next contribution? (I know that you explained them a bit further in your next reply, but you could've already done it in the original reply in a more respectable way)
Besides, I wrote my comment in paragraphs. Some parts refered to mistakes but some (eg. team-PL one) refered to opinion with which I disagree and comment in a way I did.
humM3L's case is different as he has presented Russia in previous tournaments. I'd say that everyone who has been following top level ET closely knows that and the information is easily available (unlike possible second nationality in case of hvk and IceQ). This mistake should've been noticed by both CB and writer of the article in my opinion.
I already said my opinion about Kamz's application and yeah, I have to agree that the part about SIMOON wasn't written well at all and it shouldn't have been included in the article.
I've discussed the situation of hummel before the votes were finalised but he was allowed to enter the world cup for germany when clanbase nc didn't take place and it was cf world cup or smth and now he's allowed to play for germany since then. If you want a better explenation ask the admins...
Also I feel a bit offended that you quoted my text as it would've been written by tornis :D
I don't know of the rules changed for this nationcup, but afaik zerender and hummel or even fireball have tried it before and they couldn't make it because rules were clear: once you play for 1 nation, you can't play for anyother nation anymore.
but in ET at first i tought it was same rules, but i think some russian ( hummer? zerender ? ) played for russia & also germany, its better to not change country, better if its not allowed.
:o
cheers
but if you're able to give criticism you should as well say what's good about the work and not only what's bad.
Lately i don't see much active journalists around here. Even EC was totally fucked when it comes to coverage untill baggiez wrote a newspost about the final...
Looking at it this way i think we should be thankfull for the work P5Y did here.
And ofcourse it can still improve but then that's for the next time as i think the consept is realy good to start with imo
Its not his fault he doesnt know every single applicant and that CB lets them apply even though they have no relation to that country. If you want to point fingers, point fingers at CB for implementing a ridiculous system that allows non members to apply.
As for your "criticism" on his personal opinions about captains picks, as he said it is of his own opinions concluded from the interviews he conducted.
He obviously spent a hell of a long time doing this article and putting aside CB's fuckups and his own opinions, then it was a great job. Most ppl didnt even know who had applied for their own country.
Your post wasnt critical, it was pointless.
I've been critical over mistakes. At opinions - everyone has it's own but I can comment it in any way I want to. If I totally disagree, I can laugh, cry, whatever and it doesn't need to be presented in a sophisticated way. So no, it wasn't criticism @ opinions, but it definitely was @ meritorical mistakes.
And don't call me a prick if I judged someone's work negatively.
he's became one of us!
EDiT: Robin Hood "Directors Cut" on Sky Cinema HD awweeee

Thank you :-)
Found a small mistake:

The only reason he considers himself like this was cause he actually used hacks (and got busted) and thus could shoot decently.. but in no way could he ever beat the Codelust gang!

Not looking to start a fight or debate, just replying to this old comment for fun & clarification. What I said is the truth :) (and that's what most active 2.55 players from those times know to be true, by the way. The only ones accusing me of cheating for the whole time are mostly players that had already moved to .6b)

Though if you meant just missing countries which have participated NC in the past, I can't really be bothered to go through all the seasons, but atleast these countries came into my mind:
Italy
Spain
Latvia
Denmark
Ireland
Also I'd guess that atleast Slovakia, Greece, Lithuania and some other European countries have played in NC earlier
Thanks!
China, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Brazil, Kazakhstan applied at least once or more times :)
+ Marocco and Korea played 3o3 NC :)
