stray- Entry:
For new faces in Team Germany! Top 3 is a must!
- Q&A:
I haven't heard back from stray yet.
humM3L- Entry:
Well, basically I know all top German players who are active and inactive at the moment. And I will give the German team a new touch, Kool Savas! Also new people will get a chance to be a part of the German team. I lead my teams mostly to reach some good ranks in cups and I know all the different playstyles of some players. And the most people will play under me like they told me, I only apply because of some people told me to do that otherwise they wouldn’t get a chance to play, I don’t get it but well, that’s why. It’s time to win another edition of NationsCup. In my opinion also shmoe is top favorite for the captain’s spot.
cheers
- Q&A:
Q: Can you introduce yourself for the players that are rather new to the scene?
A: Dear Crossfire Users, my name is Daniel 'humM3L' M. I was born in Germany and I still live here. I’ve almost always been leader in the teams I played in, I’ve visited 7 LANs in the past and played in 8 Eurocups. More info about me you can find in my profile here.
Q: Why do you think you are the best man for the job?
A: Well I will not say that I am the best man for the job because kuraigu was doing a really good job in the past. However I believe he didn’t pick the right people for the job and he also never played on a high enough level to decide who is good enough to be a part of the team. On the other hand we have shmoe who has been doing the job for the last 2 seasons and he is a great organizer. I’ve met him at LAN and he really is a nice person so all this combined I believe he as well can do the job very well. However if I have to say why me and not the others I’d say that it is because I played with most of the Germans in dQ and I know the core from AoW from the past. But as I said: I don’t mind if I don’t get elected, shmoe is also a good fit for the job.
Q: Do you already have a line-up in mind and will you be able to get the people you want?
A: Well in my lineup I know everyone and I know how good they are and what positions are the best for them so for me Team Germany would look like this:
kReSti, flopjehZ, Bl4de, FiREBALL, kiwi, sNoOp, + engi smg - Kevji, gr0ss, boNg, sTOWNAGE + 1 from tryouts
Q: What is your goal with this team and how far do you think you can go with this line-up?
A:Well I also want to practice 2/3 times per week because there are no other cups running at the moment and it’s about time we win that shit again. We didn’t win the last 2-3 seasons I think. (Last win was NC XI – 3 seasons ago) I will not nominate myself, I see myself purely as the organizer of the team and will let the team decide if they want me to play engi smg or if they prefer another player. (It’s a plus for the team if they pick me since I can lead the team in game but that’s my opinion since kiwi can do that too if needed so it’s up to the team.)
I nominate 7 players because I know FiREBALL works late so he is never 100% certain to make it. Never the less the team needs him. I know the core of the team and I am quite sure a 3rd place is easy with this line-up. But we also have a 50/50 chance to win this season because Finland isn’t as strong anymore like previous seasons and the United Kingdom also has some troubles with key players leaving.
We made a big step into a great future the AoW core that gained a lot of experience over the last 2 years and we have fresh and young talents with kiwi, kevji and bong who are also highly motivated to win something this season.
shmoe- Entry:
Since I like to write so very much, I got a little problem here. Just as the last 2 times CB did not give me enough space for my application. I pasted it to pastebin again:
http://nopaste.voric.com/paste.php?f=08r15z
hf reading ^^
- Q&A:
Q: Can you introduce yourself for the players that are rather new to the scene?
A: I am Moritz "shmoe" Rauen and I did this job for 2 years in a row now.
I play the game since the demo came out and was a part of the German community since.
In my active "career" as a player I was team leader of numerous teams like Gab.et or the infamous velerion crew.
For about 5 years now I play only j4f and concentrate on managing teams like various rockit.et lineups, both g2p.et lineups and of course team germany.et.
I also visited numerous LANs <o/
Q: Why do you think you are the best man for the job?
A: I think I am a pretty good pick because I have gathered a huge amount of experience over the past years.
I am part of this game for such a long time now and know nearly everyone you need to know in the community and have even met most of them in person @ LAN.
I got the support of our resigned captains such as urtier, biqq or quraigu and gained respect by most of the players during recent NationsCups as they went way better than expected by the majority of the common spectators.
I know my players well and know exactly what their strength and/or weakness is. My contact to the Clanbase personnel has always been friendly and respectful, problems have always been solved quietly.
My lineups have been way harder to choose than the picks of my predecessors.
As quraigu just had to pick the all-star players like sNoOp, butchji, drago, wEAK or haZer (insta win) I had to come up with a solution to replace any single one of those.
Still we managed to surprise and kicked out big nations and even favorites.
Last season we finished a respectful 3rd, but we surely want to top that this season.
Q: Do you already have a line-up in mind and will you be able to get the people you want?
A: I sure have a few combinations in mind but test games will figure out a final lineup. I always try to at least bring two or even more new players to the team, to have "fresh blood".
They usually are way more motivated than the older players and tend to push themselves to great performances like Kevji against the Netherlands last season.
Of course you got players that are pretty much fix and nearly irreplaceable, but this season brought up a lot of players with great potential which I am excited about and really look forward to integrate.
If they want to play is up to them and I will not talk about/with these people before being picked as captain. I will contact them when the captaincy is announced.
I think it would be arrogant towards the other applicants to talk about this beforehand.
Also I like a little curiosity and suspicion in the community ;)
Q: Would you mind giving us a sneak-peak in your cards and give us this line-up? (including backups)
A: As I said I will not do more than stating the obvious.
Players that have proven themselves on the highest level for quite some time now are the backbone of this team and will not be let down.
But I will certainly not look for old-schoolers that are inactive for over a year to let them play and block the way for the young and talented.
So to give you at least some names: I would not consider reAz or drago for the team again.
Q: What is your goal with this team and how far do you think you can go with this line-up?
A: Our goal is always to top the pervious season. Since we came third you can figure that out on your own I guess ;).
Of course Belgium will be extremely strong again and you can never count out the Fins but we will see how the tournament goes. We have the potential to come out on top this time.
ScaTmaN- Entry:
I want the best players going to start for Germany to reach the 1st place again.
But vote for shmoe ! :)
GL all
- Q&A:
Q: Can you introduce yourself for the players that are rather new to the scene?
A: My name is Patrick I’m 23 y/o and from the capital of lovely Germany, Berlin
I play Enemy Territory since 2004 and play at the moment for Northern-Darkness.
Besides gaming I work as catering cook and I’m proud fan of the 5th league football club BFC Dynamo Berlin.
Q: Why do you think you are the best man for the job?
A: Well I don’t think I’m the best man for this job , all Germans should know who is it ;)
But its free for all to apply as captain for Germany so I just try my luck , maybe it happens *laugh*
I just can say i have a bit experience in managing teams , at the moment i manage a team in Counterstrike:Source and prepare them for the new upcoming Counterstike:GO.
Q: Do you already have a line-up in mind and will you be able to get the people you want?
A: As far I have some names in my mind, it’s not that easy this year, since the last Nations cup we saw new faces can clearly reach the top3.
I haven’t spoken with any of them yet but the people I would like to play for Team-Germany are all active.
Q: Would you mind giving us a sneak-peak in your cards and give us this line-up? (including backups)
A: Nope ;) oh wait! kReSti would be in! :D
Also the rifle is a critical spot since we got pretty good talents and experienced players (of course NOT me!).
Q: What is your goal with this team and how far do you think you can go with this line-up?
A: Since the last Nations cup it can only be nr. 1! It’s going to be hard against nations like Finland, NL or the Belgians but I’m sure Germany can beat them.
YJZZ- Entry:
I AM THE KING OF ET
- Q&A:
Q: Can you introduce yourself for the players that are rather new to the scene?
A: I am YJZZ, I’m rather new-school but I have lot of contacts in the German ET-scene and some of the newer players should know me.
Q: Why do you think you are the best man for the job?
A: I have the will and the power to bring back a German powerhouse consisting of snoop, butchji and drago. Also I am the king of ET.
Q: Do you already have a line-up in mind and will you be able to get the people you want?
A: I already have a LU in mind which will, hopefully, consist of old-school owners however it is too early to get into detail as of now.
Q: What is your goal with this team and how far do you think you can go with this line-up?
A: If I'd get the real owners back to ET we can roll this NC easily and end up first, King of ET style
Conclusion:
Starting off I think it’s safe to say we can immediately illiminate both
YJZZ and
ScaTmaN from the voting pool. With
stray trying the “time for a change” card in the game and
humM3L claiming to have been asked by other players to apply it might be an interesting outcome this year. One thing is certain though. Either
humM3L or
shmoe will take home this year’s captaincy and if you ask me to put any money on anybody I’d be lying if I wouldn’t say I’m all in on
shmoe. You just don't change a winning team!

s3b- Entry:
Basically, there aren't many active ET players in Hungary, especially not many in the "known" scene. As far as I know we are the only team with 8bits (powi, varadi), that plays somewhat actively. Therefore, I'm motivated to form a team with them, and to fill the remaining spots with some of the less known Hungarians, so they get the chance to shine. I'm in the ET scene for a couple of years already, some might know me, some not, I think I can handle the captain jobs of Team Hungary!
- Q&A:
I've been unable to contact this person due to crossfire not permitting me to search for playernames shorter than 4 letters and due to clanbase not letting me sent more than 5 PM's/day
Conclusion:
Eventhough I haven't been able to contact
s3b yet we can be sure to see him appointed as captain since he's the only applicant. I hope he'll be able to field a lineup once again and that they could push through from the groupstage this year. I'll add his answers as soon as he contacts me!

- Q&A:
Q: Can you introduce yourself for the players that are rather new to the scene?
A: I am Singh, i have been playing etpro since 2009 ;) and hope Team India get accepted as we prove our nationality to CB admins.
Q: Why do you think you are the best man for the job?
A: There are only few Indians playing this and my mates told me you are good for this job so i applied.
Q: Do you already have a line-up in mind and will you be able to get the people you want?
A: I already have a Line-up in my mind and most of the player i thought of are active as well so we hope for the best.
Q: Would you mind giving us a sneak-peak in your cards and give us this line-up? (including backups)
A: It will be Singh, Sandhu, RaNa, rAmbo, Thrasher, jagz, and hopefully manj too if admins agree ;)
Q: What is your goal with this team and how far do you think you can go with this line-up?
A: Our goal is to achieve Rank 1 in group stage and with this line up we can achieve the goal we set.
Conclusion:
For me it remains to see whether ClanBase will allow this nation to participate or not. At first sight it doesn't seem like
Singh is to serious about his captaincy however let's wait for his reply on my PM to clear this out.

not at cf and not at cb

awsome job man !
You couldn't be arsed to verify whether all applies had a common sense (people applying for other countries).
Lol....The only words worth writing that this guy is a fucking joke, nothing else.
:XD
So, Simoon's apply doesn't seem to be a troll for you but Kamz does? :XD I'd like to remind you that Kamz was already the UK captain.
Overall, if you want to contribute, do some PROPER research next time.
Also, I don't like the layout but that's a subjective feeling.
I've tried my best finding out most obvious trolls. That's why SIMOON's application was removed alongside with some others before the votes were opened. The ones that are still in there are the ones that were allowed by ClanBase. I've based my article on the votes allowed by ClanBase so don't shoot me for the mistakes still in there. (referring to for example / IceQ here) This is also why I asked the community in my first comment to simply point out some obvious mistakes. Keep in mind I'm doing this freelance and am in no way connected to ClanBase or it's crew...
Kamz is inactive, unable to play himself due to lack of time yet is able to be captain? Even his application on clanbase states he's trolling. Thus I find it not worth mentioning. I'm not even one of the players that hates him. And yes I'm well aware of the fact he's been Captain before in the past.
And about the conclusions I wish to remind you that I've stated in my intro that these are my personal views. I didn't pick dialer simply because I find him arrogant in his answers and think he's the obvious pick for the job. As I said, that's my opinion.
Doesn't matter. You are here as a journalist. So provide proper information for your readers instead of asking them for correcting your mistakes.
Does a team captain need to play? Besides, if you want to go deeper by writing "Even his application on clanbase states he's trolling" - maybe that's a troll statement (and thus a serious apply?) You never know with Kamz +D
I know those are your conclusions, I was just laughing at your opinion about team PL capt. So basically, what pros and cons do you see @ dizel and dialer and why would you pick dizel over dialer? I'm just curious how did you make that pick.
Furthermore, as someone stated, you could've mentioned nations that played last NC but did not have a single applicant.
I'm not saying that it's perfect job, but you're being way too harsh here. There are/were some mistakes and some parts of the text could've been written in a better way, but you can't really argue about his personal opinions (you could argue about whether they belong to this type of article or not, though).
I would say that this article offers a good amount of necessary information for the voters and gives a good overall look of all the captain candidates. Interviews had good questions and the article included answers from most of the major candidates. I personally think that the format is decent. Of course it could've been better and more stylish like everything can, but atleast it was clear and simple.
Atleast I enjoy reading this type of articles and we don't have too many active contributors around here.. I guess you have some grudge against P5Y, because otherwise I can't really understand your comment
1. Mentioning SIMOON applying for Bahrain was pointless as it obviously was a troll, but there was a mention that the application was removed for the reason that SIMOON has previously played for France.
2. About Kamz.. best way to handle it would've probably to ask him for the answers and speculate the trolling part as a personal opinion, but taking a look at Kamz's original application I think that it's just fine to not take it as a serious application.
3. Some mix-ups with player names and NC/EC
I don't think that there were any major mistakes that disrupted my reading experience. How ever the writer could've gone through the text a bit more carefully to find the smaller mistakes. Of course the texts are always more enjoyable to read when there are no spelling mistakes and all the facts are correct.
What comes to the feedback, of course it is by far more useful to post your opinions and point out the parts you liked or disliked and why than just post a generic response like "good job". Constructive criticism is very important and writers should appreciate it a lot. I just don't think that you really succeeded in giving it by just pointing out those 3 parts in your original reply without giving any hint as to what's really wrong with them and how to improve. Also one of those pointed out parts was his personal opinion about the best candidate for Poland based on the information/answers provided by candidates and you can't really criticize him for that.
Do you really see these as proper feedback for the writer to improve for the next contribution? (I know that you explained them a bit further in your next reply, but you could've already done it in the original reply in a more respectable way)
Besides, I wrote my comment in paragraphs. Some parts refered to mistakes but some (eg. team-PL one) refered to opinion with which I disagree and comment in a way I did.
humM3L's case is different as he has presented Russia in previous tournaments. I'd say that everyone who has been following top level ET closely knows that and the information is easily available (unlike possible second nationality in case of hvk and IceQ). This mistake should've been noticed by both CB and writer of the article in my opinion.
I already said my opinion about Kamz's application and yeah, I have to agree that the part about SIMOON wasn't written well at all and it shouldn't have been included in the article.
I've discussed the situation of hummel before the votes were finalised but he was allowed to enter the world cup for germany when clanbase nc didn't take place and it was cf world cup or smth and now he's allowed to play for germany since then. If you want a better explenation ask the admins...
Also I feel a bit offended that you quoted my text as it would've been written by tornis :D
I don't know of the rules changed for this nationcup, but afaik zerender and hummel or even fireball have tried it before and they couldn't make it because rules were clear: once you play for 1 nation, you can't play for anyother nation anymore.
but in ET at first i tought it was same rules, but i think some russian ( hummer? zerender ? ) played for russia & also germany, its better to not change country, better if its not allowed.
:o
cheers
but if you're able to give criticism you should as well say what's good about the work and not only what's bad.
Lately i don't see much active journalists around here. Even EC was totally fucked when it comes to coverage untill baggiez wrote a newspost about the final...
Looking at it this way i think we should be thankfull for the work P5Y did here.
And ofcourse it can still improve but then that's for the next time as i think the consept is realy good to start with imo
Its not his fault he doesnt know every single applicant and that CB lets them apply even though they have no relation to that country. If you want to point fingers, point fingers at CB for implementing a ridiculous system that allows non members to apply.
As for your "criticism" on his personal opinions about captains picks, as he said it is of his own opinions concluded from the interviews he conducted.
He obviously spent a hell of a long time doing this article and putting aside CB's fuckups and his own opinions, then it was a great job. Most ppl didnt even know who had applied for their own country.
Your post wasnt critical, it was pointless.
I've been critical over mistakes. At opinions - everyone has it's own but I can comment it in any way I want to. If I totally disagree, I can laugh, cry, whatever and it doesn't need to be presented in a sophisticated way. So no, it wasn't criticism @ opinions, but it definitely was @ meritorical mistakes.
And don't call me a prick if I judged someone's work negatively.
he's became one of us!

Though if you meant just missing countries which have participated NC in the past, I can't really be bothered to go through all the seasons, but atleast these countries came into my mind:
Italy
Spain
Latvia
Denmark
Ireland
Also I'd guess that atleast Slovakia, Greece, Lithuania and some other European countries have played in NC earlier
Thanks!
China, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Brazil, Kazakhstan applied at least once or more times :)
+ Marocco and Korea played 3o3 NC :)
