Dignitas swap Norwegians

image: small_fullcolor-headDignitas, the i33 champions have made a big change to their roster ahead of the summer season. The side who are rumoured the have struggled greatly for activity in this spring have swapped out plazma for compatriot Norway Zenith joining from the Oslo Lions.

Whilst plazma was an indispensable figure in the i33 squad, he has announced that he not only dislikes CoD4 now, but hardcore gaming in general. Many will remember plazma making such statements after leaving games such as ET and earlier CoD titles.

Quote by razWe've taken Zenith onboard this team as we think he will allow us to keep our stability and maintain our activity as plazma had no motivation to play the game we had to find a 5th that was good enough to take plazmas spot and be able to have the motivation to win. In Zenith we saw this and offered him the chance to join us for these summer LANs, we hope that Zenith has a long and exciting time in Dignitas.

plazma confirmed that zenith was a logical choice to replace him, as he had been merc'ing for the side a lot recently and zenith and raz have a 2on2 side together.

Packard Bell Questionaire

image: UK_eswc_PB_468x60
Packard Bell, one of the leading PC brand in Europe, official PC supplier of the Electronic Sport World Cup (ESWC) and ipowergames e-sports tournaments invites all gamers across Europe to take part in a short, 15 questions, gaming survey.

Packard Bell commitment towards gaming communities has been amply demonstrated by the numerous sponsoring of famous teams and e-sports events. (ESWC, 4Kings, Antwerp eSports Festival, ipowergames, CDC4). Today, Packard Bell needs the community’s voice.

The survey will help Packard Bell to determine what gamers want the most from their PC, and what would be the best possible configuration for the gaming community. It will only take a few minutes, and it will help Packard Bell to have a much better understanding of the gamers’ expectations.

A random drawing will reward 16 participants with the Eclipse MP4 Player from Packard Bell and 14 others with ESWC Masters tickets. Your judgement matters to us!”

Mick banned from Clanbase

Fnatic report that Dignitas hotshot Mick has been banned from Clanbase for repetitive abusive behaviour. Dignitas had already been removed the tournament after one player had the wrong GUID in their match and now salt has been rubbed into the wound.

However the fnatic article raises some interesting points about the ruling and the objectivity behind it. The admin who made the ban is also a manager of the team they were playing against when this happened (h2k) and h2k were also in violation of Clanbase rules themself by not taking demos from the match which is a forfeitable offence.

The post ends stating the Dignitas and MeetYourMakers will join fnatic in boycotting Clanbase's premier competition.

SYChosis 2 shows us the money!

Doncaster based UK Call of Duty LAN SYChosis has partnered with TV channel Xleague and UK ISP Plusnet to put up £1500 in their CoD4 tournament.

More than three hundred gamers are set to battle it out at a large LAN gaming event, sponsored by Sheffield-based ISP, PlusNet. Cash prizes totalling over £3,000 plus other goodies will be awarded to the winners of the tournaments, which are taking place at the event organised by the South Yorkshire gaming group, Sychosis. The event will be held at Doncaster Dome, (Bawtry Road, Doncaster) between July 4-6, 2008.

The event unfortunately does clash with the iPOWER tournament meaning that UK side MYM wont be attending the event, however the SGL Summer Slam Champions Reason Gaming will be in attendance and should be considered hot favourites for the event. You can find out more about the event here

In other news, MYM are poised to announce their latest player with Mark predicting the new player "will be best player in the game in a month". The official announcement for the replacement of stat is to come shortly.

TEK9 drop KammYz

TEK9 have announced the shock departure of star player Finland KammYz from the team. Although their website states that Mick is now in the team, your sarcasm detectors should be flying off the scales on that note.

Dropping KammYz is a bold move as he is arguably the most talented individual in the game to date. This writer could be heard at point suggesting that TEK9 need only hide behind KammYz in order to win, however the decision is motivated behind his inactivity and the teams desire to get into tip top shape ahead of the busiest summer CoD has known.

News will be forthcoming shortly as to his replacement, however whoever it is, he will have very big Finnish boots to fill. Meanwhile KammYz is actively searching another lineup to play in.

feruS & Blaze drafted

Two of Crossfires prodigal son's have been drafted into CounterStrike Source teams at the CGS European combine!

Sweden feruS has been drafted into the Stockholm Magnetik which was a widely expected move having been playing with them for the entire draft. Having only just turned 18 he joins now as he couldnt previously. feruS was rated the #1 player who quit CS:S just months ago and returns to scene to instant acclaim, with both teams showing an interest in him.

Netherlands Blaze formerly of GMPO and MYSOD fame in RTCW has been picked up by the Berlin Allianz and leaves his long time teammates at Fnatic. Blaze recently returned to fnatic and his return saw the team's fortune rise with it, Fnatic were expected last year to be drafted in as a team for the CGS however were not at the expense of NoA. They will again feel upset not to have been drafted having won the CS:Source tournament at the event this weekend.

By being drafted the players are now salaried to play for their team and will be headed of to Los Angeles to play live on DirecTV this summer.
