Dignitas win Packard Bell EU Open

Dignitas have defeated 4kings to win the Packard Bell EU Open after a great game in the XLeague studios today. The tournament was a big test ahead of next weeks CDC4 to see whether 4kings were closing the gap the Quakecon champions, alas for the Brits it wasnt to be.

Its actually not possible to find a score or a report at the moment on the ED website but the result has been confirmed on the Dignitas page that they won the tournament with a 2-0 2-0 result. In other news related to 4kings today was the first public display that the team have lost their sponsorship deal with Intel, a deal that dates back to 2002 and their RTCW team. However Intel have been replaced by Packard Bell as their title sponsor.

Ravenwood to join CDC4

image: GW77H106I'm proud to announce that next weeks Crossfire Devotii Challenge 4 will be run with the assistance of Ravenwood, the gaming arm of Unicenter.nl. Ravenwood will be responsible to the administration of the servers and have been assisting us generally with hardware in preparation for next weeks event.

Founded in 2002 Unicenter grew from what was originally a gaming community doing just hosting for their own usage and enjoyment. In 2003 the company evolved with their reputation to become a professional gaming service provider. The company continued to growing to provide hosting to midrange webhosting ISP's and big webhosting in 2005 and will be providing their experience and expertise to the Crossfire Devotii Challenge 4.

For CDC4 the company that grew from gamers will return to their roots and will be assisting specifically with the matchservers, network and crew support.

The6Devils to attend CDC4

Its with great pleasure that CoDQCUP champions and current CoD4 sensations Germany The6Devils will be attending the Crossfire Devotii Challenge 4! The team have been frantically searching for support to attend the event in Enschede next week and prove their power offline, and finally today the wait has ended for them.

Their lineup for CDC4 will be:

Germany iFEAR
Germany flie
Germany thunder
Germany respawn
Germany mokai
Germany Creepy (manager)

This news is a smoke screen for a far larger piece of news regarding the team and the game, regardless Europe's current top dogs are coming to Enschede! They will be seeded in the 5th seed poule. I was in close contact with the team throughout their hopes of coming to CDC and it was offered if a deal was close that we'd wait to do the seedings, though that wasnt needed at the time. In an odd way it has no impact on the seedings anyway, because one group would still have them and other strong teams in the group regardless.

Additionally, Netherlands tEmp clan will be attendin CDC4 also! The random drawing for the two squads group placing will happen tonight and will be added to this newspost.

Groups - T6D are in Group D, temp are in group H

Seeds and Groups Post for CDC4

image: header
With the Crossfire Devotii Challenge 4 rapidly approaching, its time for the seeds and groups! Each tournament has a different format and thus please view each seeding and tournament layout subjectively.

Call of Duty 4
Because CoD4 is still very new and there have been limited tournaments from which to draw seeds, there is NO #1 seed in CoD. Instead we are following the champions league format of Seeding Poules, there is no ranking within the poules. Groups are drawn with 1 team from each poule going into the group.

::
Seed Poule 1 Tek9, oXmoze, Serious, Dignitas, eSuba, fnatic, DIE, SL
Seed Poule 2 UF Gaming, Logitech, TLR, Wave (edit), dcc, H2k, Impact,LowLandLions
Seed Poule 3 drop2trash, Fury, FF.org, Roskilde, KomaCrew, 5star,Policy (EYERollers), vae
Seed Poule 4 RubberDuckies, Intense, Immortal, Evergreen (zykon), Mercury, DMH, Bathing Ape (internal), Fture
Seed Poule 5 Infinity
You'll notice we're unfortunately 7 spots short in the CoD tournament due to a recent wave of teams folding, this is unfortunate and spots are available to anyone still wishing to attend.

::
Group A: eSuba - Logitech - Policy (EYERollers) - Fture - Infinity
Group B: Dignitas - UF Gaming - vae - DMH
Group C: DIE (Epsilon) - Impact - drop2trash - Immortal
Group D: Fnatic - wave-eSports - 5star - RubberDuckies
Group E: Serious - LowLandLions - Roskilde - Intense
Group F: oXmoze - H2k - KomaCrew - Mercury
Group G: TeK-9 - dcc - FF.org - Evergreen
Group H: Speedlink - TLR - Fury - Bathing Ape

There is one group of 5, and the rest are of 4. The winner of each group will play the second placed team of the next group in a Best of 3 Single Elim Bracket.

Crossfire & Game-Hosting join forces

Crossfire is today proud to announce its new partnership with Game-Hosting as official host of our community. After several successful liaisons with Game Hosting before, its with great honour that we're now extending our agreement to host the site and partner with us in other projects. Game-Hosting has proved to be a firm believer in community orientated support, something that makes it very like minded to Crossfire and a very suitable partner.

Stuart Saw owner of Crossfire said "I've had the pleasure of working with Game-Hosting on the Arctic eSports challenge back in 05, and their Arctic hunts. It became obvious to me that we shared a lot of the same goals, and were going about achieving them in similar ways. We both want to offer the best atmosphere for gamers out there, and now together are progressing in a very focused way."

Eirik Pedersen of Game-Hosting.com added "We have been cooperating with Stuart Saw for a few years now and this cooperation has been very good. When Stuart took over Crossfire we started to talk about how we could cooperate on a even deeper level than we had been up to then, that has now been realized and we are proud to present Crossfire as our official partner. "

The relationship between the two companies see's Game-Hosting become the exclusive hosting partner of Crossfire and is a strategic partner in all of its community projects. As such Crossfire will be running a Game-Hosting Call of Duty 4 server, you can come and play on 80.239.200.177:32960

6Devils win QCUP!

German underdogs The 6 Devils have been crowed the champions of the CoDQCUP after a marathon tournament that saw them overcome CoD2 hotshots TeK-9 in the grand finals last night.

It started poorly for the Germans though as TeK-9 stole a march on them with a massive 13-4 win on mp_Crossfire to start the match. However into the second map (crash) and The Devils managed to reach the magic number of 13 to secure the win for them on the map, and because the Germans were coming from the Winner Bracket tieing the game, meant winning the tournament!

Europe's newly crowed top dogs are anxiously working towards attending CDC4 at the end of the month, this latest victory will only boost their chances of being in Enschede alongside all the teams they recently dismantled.

i33 CoD pot doubled

Multiplay have today confirmed with Activision that they will be doubling their Call of Duty 4 prizepurse for their i33 tournament, the pot now stands at 12,000 Euro - the biggest for a European LAN event in Call of Duty.

The signup list unfortunately doesn't represent such a prestigious prize tournament, with at the moment at least Europes top teams chosing not to signup. Time will tell whether this new carrot will bait the top guns into attendance.

CDC4 Replacement slots

Due to problems with teams rosters and what not, we now have spaces available in the Quakewars and Call of Duty tournaments at CDC4, I can also confirm the Warsow status.

CoD4: 2 Spots remaining (38/40)
Quakewars: 3 Spots remaining (9/12)
Warsow: We will run an 8 player Warsow tournament, we've currently got 9 people that want to come, so we'll work a way around this. However WSW at CDC will happen.

If you would like to attend, please message me on irc or email me at tosspot at gmail dot com. Seedings, groups and schedules for all games will be released at the end of the CoDQCUP, as that will represent for the most accurate standings available to us.

Gifty on the move

Team Coolermaster have today announced their second Call of Duty 4 roster, this time with a European flavour to it by picking up the former eyeshow team and swiss superstar, Gifty.
The side will be focusing on I33, an event that team manager scarface holds close to his heart, as hes been actively working to promote it and is on the administration team for the tournament.

The new TCM roster is as follows;

Austria mkZ (team captain)
Germany gene
Belgium roken
Austria aistrEEEy
Switzerland gifty
Germany nikkZoN (back-up)

Scarface told the TCM Website the following:

QuoteIt really has been a hectic month since I became the manager for this team. Endless searching for multi-gaming organisations, and keeping on top of everything was difficult to handle at times, but worth it now. We came to Team CoolerMaster with an offer, and despite various offers we got from other organisations, we picked CoolerMaster for a lot of positive reasons. Dedication, great management, and good support are a few of these reasons, and on behalf of the team, we are very excited to be signing with the organisation.
