Sunday; February 24th, - Polish oldschoolers Fear Factory X-Fi just took the title of being this years GGT2008 Champions by defeating newcomers Authentic Gaming in the grand final at the Goleniow Game Theatre, Poland. Authentic were able to beat FF.X-Fi on Goldrush and FF came back on Supplydepot with beating Auth's set time. The final map to be played was Oasis and some peaple will remember the grand final of PGA when you hear that both teams decided to play a knife round to clear out this event's champ. The FF.X-Fi team around captain Wrobel and star player wiesiek are now proud owners of about 1.250 € cash and several hardware prizes.

Less than a week is left until CoD4, ET, ETQW and Warsow players from all over Europe gather once again for the Crossfire Devotii Challenge in Enschede. With the number of teams and players higher than ever, this event calls for someone to capture its essence for those who have stayed at home. Next to QuadV covering the event live, ESL TV will be in Enschede to produce a documentary.

Topics will include the newly formed SK Gaming CoD4 team, the comeback of SPEED-LINK.CoD4 and the current state of Enemy Territory Quake Wars and its teams. The focus will also be on the ET teams and Warsow players, the performance of newcomers and the plans of oldschool players.

Dignitas have defeated 4kings to win the Packard Bell EU Open after a great game in the XLeague studios today. The tournament was a big test ahead of next weeks CDC4 to see whether 4kings were closing the gap the Quakecon champions, alas for the Brits it wasnt to be.

Its actually not possible to find a score or a report at the moment on the ED website but the result has been confirmed on the Dignitas page that they won the tournament with a 2-0 2-0 result. In other news related to 4kings today was the first public display that the team have lost their sponsorship deal with Intel, a deal that dates back to 2002 and their RTCW team. However Intel have been replaced by Packard Bell as their title sponsor.

Tek-9 Networks have announced today that unfortunately they will not be hosting another Outpost On Fire event.
However the good news is that they will be aiming higher with their eyes set on the Antwerp Esports Festival held over the end of July. In depth information on the LAN is scarce however it has been confirmed that the event will be host to two PC titles Call of Duty 4 and FIFA08. The even will be held between the 25th and 27th of July in the Hilton hotel in Antwerp. The total prize fund will be worth 30, 000 Euros consisting of hardware and money. The prize purse will be split between the two games however it is unknown to what ratio each games will have of the 30,000 Euros.

Just moments ago SK Gaming have announced a move that was expected by many, they have picked up a Call Of Duty 4 team. The chosen ones are none other than the German number one team The6Devils. As it was announced today, the team will be participating at the Crossfire Devotii Challenge 4 in Enschede.

Team captain Andre "iFEARdilemma" Merzinsky had this to say:

Ravenwood will be responsible to the administration of the servers and have been assisting us generally with hardware in preparation for next weeks event.

Founded in 2002 Unicenter grew from what was originally a gaming community doing just hosting for their own usage and enjoyment. This news is a smoke screen for a far larger piece of news regarding the team and the game, regardless Europe's current top dogs are coming to Enschede! They will be seeded in the 5th seed poule. I was in close contact with the team throughout their hopes of coming to CDC and it was offered if a deal was close that we'd wait to do the seedings, though that wasnt needed at the time. In an odd way it has no impact on the seedings anyway, because one group would still have them and other strong teams in the group regardless.

Additionally, tEmp clan will be attendin CDC4 also! The random drawing for the two squads group placing will happen tonight and will be added to this newspost.
