Pentagram pickup CoD4 team

image: pgs-logo-headPolish powerhouse Pentagram, famed for their CS glories that won ESWC and WCG have today picked themselves up an all Polish CoD4 team and add the weight of their reputation to the game.

Their recruitment was somewhat unlikely as they've picked up an untested lineup rather than one of the established Polish teams that were available to them.

The new Polish lineup is as follows;

Poland baal
Poland huron
Poland juzek
Poland pogo
Poland scandal
Poland Verpa
Poland zoom

zoom carries the biggest reputation of the side with a notable history in Q3 CPM, though the rest of the side will be looking to build their reputations in CoD4.

Arctic Treasure Hunt is Live!

Crossfire sponsors Game-Hosting are running their second arctic treasure hunt. The last hunt was a big success for the ET community with many winning prizes, some may also remember this event as there was the singing contest in it which featured many of ET's finest voices.

Heres the info on the new hunt;

Dear Hunters,

Game-Hosting.com gives you The Treasure Hunt! Hosted by Mr. Stuart Saw and the pro-girl team Les Seules.

The time has come. It is time to show you what our hunters will be searching & competing for. And of course we need to give you some rules of engagement. On Thursday 20th of December at 1900 CET we welcome you to the IRC channel #treasurehunt @ quakenet. Here you will enter the quest for the Game-Hosting treasure.

Tune In now to win prizes!

TeK-9 back to 5

CoD Giants TeK-9 are back to 5 and are rocking and rolling once again. The WSVG CoD2 champions had been without a full lineup since the release of CoD4 and were trialling numerous players to fit the bill of being a TeK-9 player.

Today they've confirmed their additions as being none other than Netherlands haya & Finland kammYz. haya had left the organisation to focus on school work, however has revoked that decision and returned to the lineup once again. kammYz is something of a blast from the CoD past as he brought success to oldschool CoD1 lineup eyeballers.

CDC4 Signups (693)

image: CF The signups for the Crossfire Devotii Challenge 4 have been a mixed bag of emotions for us. On the one hand the signups for Call of Duty 4 have been fantastic and we're pleased to confirm that we're expanding the tournament from 20 to 32 teams!

While Enemy Territory and ET:QuakeWars haven't looked so great early on, it seems that both communities are rising to the occasion to bring on more teams as the other. One to prove it is a game that deserves a LAN and the other to show it has not died off yet. ET:QW is past the 16 team marker.

In total, 693 players have signed up so far!

Gaming Royalty - Royally Screwed

British multigaming organisation 4kings have today been thrown into turmoil as the roster has been split in two! The teams who were forged together from the old Coolermasters lineup at the end of CoD2 are now in disarray despite both sporting 4kings tags.

On both sides of the split are two long time friends in Ireland Crow and United Kingdom palmz - once both writers for Gotfrag, now on different sides of the Royal family. Palmz & Corp have taken the action to remove Crow, Wiz and junior from their lineup. Of the other 3, crow the only one with his 4k tag on - a move which has angered palmz as wiz and junior 'left gracefully'

With regards to the ongoing QCUP - it is palmz's roster who will continue, the reason being that they've added other players and want to continue. Those players who are crossing the 4kings picket line? None other than United Kingdom Morg, United Kingdom Ben & United Kingdom rico

Rumours on their final lineup see skipz & dales as potential long term recruitments. This story still has a long way to go!

CDC4 Cheaters ruling

After lengthly discussions and in an effort aid the anti cheat effort Crossfire has extended its policy on cheaters. This has no effect on the QCUP but does for CDC4 and potentially for future site bans.

Any player with a previous Clanbase ET Ban will not be welcomed into the ET tournament at CDC4. This ruling is done with the intention of discouraging current cheaters and hoping to continue to discourage any future use be that experimental or sinister. So for that reason, if you have a previous CB ET Cheat ban for whatever reason, you will not be playing ET at CDC4 (no exceptions for previous attendance).

Right now this decision has no implications on the other tournaments at CDC4, ET's situation is somewhat unique and broad, other tournaments will be discussed later in December and published in the full rules.

Crossfire is currently reviewing whether it can be of any further use to the anticheat effort and this may not be the only announcement on the subject. This ruling will become unilateral on Crossfire after the QCUP.

Crossfire announces CoD ruleset

Since announcing CDC4 we've been inundated with requests for what CoD4 ruleset we will be playing with. At painstaking length we've taken consultation from a number of leading figures and organisation who have history with Crossfire and CDC, such as Dignitas, Speedlink, TeK-9, 4kings and organisations like ESL, esports4all and Gotfrag ontop of taking yesterdays MCE vote into consideration and have compiled the following config for public release;

Download Server Config Here

The primary changes to the config are the removal of Deep Impact, removal of the red dot attachment and chosing a map pool which is backlot, crash, crossfire, strike, district.

Our goal in creating this was always to have the same config that other oragnisations will be using so not to create a split, and I'd like to thank Trigger and Crow who have been liaising with CB and ESL to make sure that we're not doing something different to them.

Crossfire will shortly be announcing an online cash prized tournament in which this config will debut alongside DAM mod, though DAM is quite possibly only temporary as the modding community is actively working on other projects.

EDiT vs Incomplete

Another Belgian vs Finn battle is about to unfold in this seasons Clanbase Eurocup as EDiT look to claim a place in the loser bracket final should they overcome Incomplete. The finns however will be looking to avenge the belgians victory over compatriots stfu?

Belgium EDiT 4-0Finland Incomplete
Time 21:00 CET
ETTV: GamesTV.org
Shoutcast: Quadv TosspoT

Update:
Belgium EDiT took it 4-0

It will be a tall order for Incomplete who were washed aside by a flying stfu? in the winners bracket tie. stfu? helped themselves to victory over their friends with a performance that hasnt boosted Incompletes stock down at 15/1 on GamesTV.org - EDiT will march in as favourites having beaten stfu? in marvelous form and this old lineup will look to get their first major silverware in ET with the winner securing at least Bronze in the Eurocup.

Dignitas and SL make changes!

CPC1 finalists Speedlink and Dignitas have today refreshed their Call of Duty 4 interests with slight alterations to their already high profile lineups. With the game already meeting their satisfaction levels, its good to see that the two teams will renew their age old rivalry in the latest Call of Duty installment.

Speedlink were forced to replace long time servant N1ghtwalker and today made the speedy announcement of compatriot Soulreaper who will come in to complete a six man lineup. Perhaps not the expected choice for Speedlink however their initial outings have not been to their usual standards and so a quick recruitment was in order to steady the ship. In CoD2 it was these Germans who set the early pace, whether they can do the same in CoD4 is now in their hands.

Dignitas have removed Lopezz from their lineup though there was no animosity as leader mick describes him as "the best backup player I have ever played with and was easily good enough to play in the main lineup" - Lopezz is likely to move from backup to fulltime in a new roster.

DAM is here!

Call of Duty today got its first competition mod offering, no its not PAM its DAM! The D is all important as its not made by the same people, although its rather similar in its basic offering whilst the community waits for PAM's offering, which is rumoured to already be in the works.
