Brink to set new standard?

Just 9 days after the last headline about Brink, the 2010 roundup here on Crossfire (read more..) it's time for another quick update featuring Brink.

image: brinkish_banner

First off is the launch of the first EU-based Brink dedicated fansite, aimed towards the future competitive Brink-scene - BRINKish.eu which hopefully will be a good compliment to the Brink coverage here at Crossfire. Apart from the actual site there is a large amount of ways to follow BRINKish.eu and among these we find Facebook.com, Twitter.com, Xfire.com, YouTube.com and obviously there's also #BRINKish @ irc.QuakeNet.org.

CIEC playoff cup

Now that pretty much every match in the Crossfire Intel ESL Challenge groupstage has been played we are ready to announce more information on this sundays playoff cup!

System explanation[/b]]We had eight groups of four teams (two exceptions with 5). The rankings now determine the playoff bracket you play in.

All 1st placed teams will face each other in a 8-slot playoff bracket. So will all 2nd placed and all 3rd placed teams. All 4th placed teams and the two fifth placed teams will create one playoff bracket.

These 1day cups will have little impact on the seeding with which your team will end up with in regards of the factor of availability. So a 2nd placed team in Group B can only end up as 16th seeded in worst and 9th seeded in best case.

ESL Fall Leagues are over

image: fallbutton_09The Winter is over and the ESL Enemy Territory Fall Leagues are finished too. Better late than never!

The last grand final of the different divisions took place during the last days. Now we found all divisions winners' and the best 2on2, 3on3 and 6on6 teams all over Europe Europe as well as the best Germany 1on1 player. Check out the news for all winners!

The 2on2, 3on3 and 6on6 tournaments started with a group stage followed by a double elimination playoff bracket. The 2on2 tournament had 3 divisions, the 3on3 tournament 4 and the 6on6 tournament had 5 divisions.

Here are the final rankings and overviews of the divisions:

CIC7 Tournament Structure

image: cic-header

With less than three weeks to go until the start of Crossfire Intel Challenge 7, the CIC7 admin team are pleased to to announce the tournament structure for both Enemy Territory and Call of Duty 4.

The Call of Duty 4 tournament will consist of an initial group stage of eight groups of six teams. Each team will play each other team in their group once, with each groupstage match consisting of a single search & destroy game on a map chosen from the mappool by the veto system, MR12.

The top two teams from each CoD4 group progress to a single-elimination playoff stage. Each playoff match will be played in a best of three format, MR12. This tournament structure guarantees a minimum of five matches for each Call of Duty team.

The Enemy Territory tournament will consist of an initial group stage of eight groups of four teams (some groups may have five teams, if more than 32 teams attend). Each team will play each other team in their group once. The top two teams in each group will progress to a double elimination playoff bracket. Additionally, there will be a consolation tournament (format either single or double elimination to be confirmed) for the remaining teams.

All matches in ET will be played in the standard best of three maps format. Maps in groupstage will be preselected. This tournament structure guarantees a minimum of four matches for each Enemy Territory team (five matches if a double elimination consolation bracket is confirmed).

Matches will be have start times between 09:00 - 01:00 Friday, 09:00 - 23:00 Saturday, and 10:00 - 15:00 Sunday. If your team requires a late start on the Friday, please contact Adacore as soon as possible. Late start places are limited and it may not always be possible to grant requests. If your team has requested a late start already, we should be able to accommodate it.

A full schedule with all teams, matches and start times will be published on Crossfire.nu in the run-up to the event, once groups are confirmed.

If you have any additional schedule or tournament queries please contact Adacore or leave a comment on this news item and we'll attempt to answer them to the best of our ability.

After yesterday’s NC marathon, today brings you lesser games, but not less exciting games! The only 2 games of these evening don’t look much but both have the potential and promise to turn into a great game. In both games we see the top favorites of Group A and Group B (Netherlands Netherlands and Estonia Estonia) against underdogs of both groups (Croatia Croatia and Sweden Sweden). Tonight will be decisive to see who will get the better seed for the Play Offs and who will get a harder time in them.

Answers from rockit.ET!

image: 10yl6wkOne week ago we started something new within our project. We invited the community to ask their special questions to our Enemy Territory team, be it game related things, motivational things or simply their plans or goals for CiC7. Within the very first few minutes we already got several interesting questions for all rockit.ET gamers. After a period of a week, we picked the best questions and handed them to the players and today we can present their very own answers. Read More if you want to know why Clown is playing with his keyboard on his lap, who XyloS believes is the best rifle or when they all started their competitive way in ET.
