NORDIC-eSport drop ET

image: 276911_165463176812266_1784670_nToday, the Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory scene has seen a 2nd organisation cut ties with their ET squads in as many days. On Sunday evening, Team WinFakt!'s ET team left due to internal issues within the organisation and today we see Nordic-eSport.PENTIA part ways with their team.

For the sake of the game as we know it, hopefully this doesn't spell the end for these organisations and their time in Enemy Territory.

SAGE: Videos on Demand

image: 1This past weekend held host to the first major European Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Call of Duty 4 event of the year. It took place in the Dutch town of Enschede, the home of our beloved venue; WZZRD Gaming Café. The victorious MGC (note, I did not say team!) was Anexis eSports as they had 2 teams enter into the gaming festivities, both of whom wound up the champions of their respective tournaments.

Adroits' streaming partner for the event was none other than Kaos TV which saw Matthijs "A_Spec" Hoving entertain thousands for Call of Duty 4 and we had Owain "Owzo" Howard verbally tearing his way through the weekend for all of you Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory fans. However, the majority of this weekend must be immortalised, an archive was needed... Kaos TV have stepped up to the board and have launched their official post-SAGE Video on Demand collection.

All videos can be found on the Kaos TV YouTube profile, and the coverage doesn't stop at recorded matches. For those of you who've been hunting for the interviews that were promised, Kaos TV have also answered your prayers. You can watch interviews conducted with ET's Baggiez and CoD4's solu, as well as a quick chat with myself, Seanza.

SAGE: Groups stage

image: sagessbanner

We've had a fairly standard start to the day and are beginning to catch up on some lost time during the Call of Duty 4 tournament. For all of you who are looking to see who won vs. who and who finished top of what group in ET so far, you can check that out at TEK 9.

We'll bring you up to date as much as we can here, but please keep an eye on our social media profiles.

SAGE: Ruleset and maplist

It's getting closer to that time where we'll be meeting in Enschede once again! Those of you who were listening to the groups announcement show last Monday may already be aware of this information as the site was launched on the same night, but this news post is for those who aren't aware!

For the maps, there will be a slightly reformed process for picking the maps. This will apply to both group stage and playoffs during the tournament. You can find full information on that on section 7.0 of the rules.

SAGE: QL Tournament Info

image: sage_smallA poll was created for the community to cast their votes choosing between one of the two games or selecting both. The victorious game was to be Quake Live after receiving more than twice as many votes as its “poll opponent”, StarCraft II. The tournament will strictly be open only to the players who were attending the LAN for one of the other 2 tournaments already or is a member of their respective community site. Each player will pay an entrance fee and, dependant on the number of signups, this will determine the prize pot for the tournament.

Since this is set to be a community event, I’ve opted for the chance to run an ET vs. COD rivalry which will eventually see the best Quake Live-playing ET community member go against the best Call of Duty 4-playing community member. So how am I going to do this? Simple… there will be 2 separate Quake Live tournaments at the event. Players will play through a bracket which will be exclusively for their community. Eventually, when we have a winner of each bracket, those 2 players will then go head-to-head. The victorious player will win the tournament for their community, thus becoming the Quake Live community champion of SAGE!

AEF will not happen...

image: aef_smallLast year saw one of the most cleanly-run Enemy Territory LAN tournaments in the game's history. Since then, everybody has speculated if AEF will feature the game at its next installment (supposedly this year). After months of no announcement, hopes grew thin and questions were starting to be asked. Today, Steven Leunens (dfb) confirmed that the event will, sadly, not go ahead due to some complications in the organisation of PCs and other logistical issues.

SAGE: ET Seeding tournament (groups)

image: sage_smallI'm happy to announce that I will be running an online seeding tournament in order to determine seeds for the LAN itself. These groups have been based on lineup, recent performance and potential. As we're on a fairly tight schedule leading up to the LAN event, I ask for all teams to please cooperate as best they can to make this online seedings tournament run as smoothly as possible. Thanks in advance!

G2P gets Most Valuable

image: g2plogo

The team that was amongst the TOP3 a few months back, got restored and found a new home.
It has been a long and bumpy road, but in the end everything was wrapped up in a few days.
With Francekarnaj rising from inactivity and 3 highly motivated polish Allstars, Germanyshmoe and Netherlands7ele finally found the missing pieces to finish their Lan lineup.
The Team will finish the EuroCup and has now exactly one month to prepare for the upcoming SAGE-Lan.

SAGE ET tournament info!

It's the first major event of the year for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and, so far, the largest ET LAN announced for 2011. Formerly going by the name of "TLR's eSports Challenge", I can now confirm some more information about the LAN event, including some specifics about the ET tournament...

OVERLOAd win E-Series!

It's been a long day for a lot of us, but not as long a day as it's been for United Kingdom Power Gaming and Netherlands OVERLOAd. After a lot of initially-worrying delays, we have pulled through at the first edition of ET E-Series by Kaos TV. Your champions, ladies and gentlemen, are Netherlands OVERLOAd - a team who had everybody talking about whether or not they would actually go once they had signed up. For those who doubted them, let this be a lesson.
