Q: Can you introduce yourself for the players that are rather new to the scene?
A: I am m1ke from Slovenia. I have been playing ET for a long time, wasn't really active all the time (had PC issues everytime i got a decent clan :P). In the last year or two I became more active which has shown this season, in which I got a decent clan and some achievements also.
Q: Why do you think you are the best man for the job?
A: I think I'm the man for the job because I have done it last year, and with the lack of old Slovenian players returning, I have the best insight on who is active and motivated to play. That and Slovenia needs a bit older captain to control the newtalents :)
Q: Do you already have a line-up in mind and will you be able to get the people you want?
A: Yes, I do. It will look somewhat like last year with some new faces like:
sLy, the guy that spent his career playing with German teams.
squAze, the newschooler that wasn't able to play last year.
seareal, currently the most hater person on the scene, despite his reputation, he is the most active player (nerding 24/7) and is really really motivated to play.
The only concern this year is the rifle spot, last year verunA played rifle, but it just isn't the same when a SMG player goes rifle, so we might be in a bit of trouble concerning that spot, but I think we will overcome it somehow.
I will also be counting on M1R53 to be our main motivator / coach and will be helping me keep verunA and seareal in line :)
Q: What is your goal with this team and how far do you think you can go with this line-up?
A: Last year we saw that even without our oldschooler we can still surprise a good number of teams. And this year we could count more on our active players and maybe even get to playoffs. As I said, our only weakness will be the rifle (if we don't persuade someone to play it :P)

A: My name is Semir T, I've been around for a while now. I played ET a bit for fun and a bit serious but I never got to show "the real me", I played with many guys until now and my best time was when I got to play last NC.

A: I think I got what it takes to lead the team because last year I knew how to calm down guys, prepare them for fight and set the right mentality. This year I want to do the same but with one difference: I want to be official captain.

A: My lineup would consist of guys who are young and know how to aim and of those who got brain and can play engi only (hello m1ke). Team Slovenia always had good players but they lost because of lack of teamplay, misunderstandings, bad timing etc.. So I'll see first who are interested but I want to make a balanced team which can compete with others on the same level.

A: So I'm counting on: m1ke, verunA, ReZoN, squAze, Aniky, b1bu (if I annoy him long enough to make him come), some good undercover rifle, seareal or somebody else, who knows. This is still unofficial so I'll plan it a bit better later when I'll get in contact with the players.
Q: What is your goal with this team and how far do you think you can go with this line-up?
A: So my goal looks something like this; I just want these guys to show that we cannot be underestimated (remember Canada vs. Slovenia) and in the end we'll see how far this team can come. We'll just play proud with our hearts for our country. Long live Slovenia!
Conclusion:
This one is rather hard to pick as an outsider not knowing who
verunA and
m1ke might have in mind for their lineup. However I must say that the team
M1R53 has put together looks promising. So either bet safe and go for
m1ke or go for
M1R53.

A: I'm tornis a 20 years old swede and nowadays an old-schooler I guess. I've played with clans such as dtekt, kojak, oceans6, noll8 and of course the Swedish teams dispo and uC. I've been participating in EuroCup with some of the teams and the first time I played NationsCup was in 2006 when LoTiX(Godchild) came for me as they were looking for a rifle. After that I've been playing NationsCup 5 times more and 4 of them as a captain.
Q: Why do you think you are the best man for the job?
A: I think I’m the best man for the job since I've got the experience and honestly I can say that Sweden wouldn't come forth up with a lineup without me.

A: Through the years of ET Sweden have had many great players but in the last year many have quitted or went inactive so that’s a pity that I can't get them all. However we got 2 good players in of course NuggaN who have improved the last years and then Slajdan who also have been active at a good level. Then we have semi active players who started to get more active again like myself and newbje. More than that is unclear for now but I think we will come up with a lineup that has the potential to surprise.

A: The first goal is of course to get the last players and fit them well to the lineup we got so far and after that play hard and surprise!

With
tornis being the only applicant this year hes certain of his position as captain. All that's left for us to do is to hope that he'll be able to field a line-up and won't have to forfeit this season like

I know those are your conclusions, I was just laughing at your opinion about team PL capt. So basically, what pros and cons do you see @ dizel and dialer and why would you pick dizel over dialer? I'm just curious how did you make that pick.
Furthermore, as someone stated, you could've mentioned nations that played last NC but did not have a single applicant.
I'm not saying that it's perfect job, but you're being way too harsh here. There are/were some mistakes and some parts of the text could've been written in a better way, but you can't really argue about his personal opinions (you could argue about whether they belong to this type of article or not, though).
I would say that this article offers a good amount of necessary information for the voters and gives a good overall look of all the captain candidates. Interviews had good questions and the article included answers from most of the major candidates. I personally think that the format is decent. Of course it could've been better and more stylish like everything can, but atleast it was clear and simple.
Atleast I enjoy reading this type of articles and we don't have too many active contributors around here.. I guess you have some grudge against P5Y, because otherwise I can't really understand your comment
1. Mentioning SIMOON applying for Bahrain was pointless as it obviously was a troll, but there was a mention that the application was removed for the reason that SIMOON has previously played for France.
2. About Kamz.. best way to handle it would've probably to ask him for the answers and speculate the trolling part as a personal opinion, but taking a look at Kamz's original application I think that it's just fine to not take it as a serious application.
3. Some mix-ups with player names and NC/EC
I don't think that there were any major mistakes that disrupted my reading experience. How ever the writer could've gone through the text a bit more carefully to find the smaller mistakes. Of course the texts are always more enjoyable to read when there are no spelling mistakes and all the facts are correct.
What comes to the feedback, of course it is by far more useful to post your opinions and point out the parts you liked or disliked and why than just post a generic response like "good job". Constructive criticism is very important and writers should appreciate it a lot. I just don't think that you really succeeded in giving it by just pointing out those 3 parts in your original reply without giving any hint as to what's really wrong with them and how to improve. Also one of those pointed out parts was his personal opinion about the best candidate for Poland based on the information/answers provided by candidates and you can't really criticize him for that.
Do you really see these as proper feedback for the writer to improve for the next contribution? (I know that you explained them a bit further in your next reply, but you could've already done it in the original reply in a more respectable way)
Besides, I wrote my comment in paragraphs. Some parts refered to mistakes but some (eg. team-PL one) refered to opinion with which I disagree and comment in a way I did.
humM3L's case is different as he has presented Russia in previous tournaments. I'd say that everyone who has been following top level ET closely knows that and the information is easily available (unlike possible second nationality in case of hvk and IceQ). This mistake should've been noticed by both CB and writer of the article in my opinion.
I already said my opinion about Kamz's application and yeah, I have to agree that the part about SIMOON wasn't written well at all and it shouldn't have been included in the article.
I've discussed the situation of hummel before the votes were finalised but he was allowed to enter the world cup for germany when clanbase nc didn't take place and it was cf world cup or smth and now he's allowed to play for germany since then. If you want a better explenation ask the admins...
Also I feel a bit offended that you quoted my text as it would've been written by tornis :D
I don't know of the rules changed for this nationcup, but afaik zerender and hummel or even fireball have tried it before and they couldn't make it because rules were clear: once you play for 1 nation, you can't play for anyother nation anymore.
but in ET at first i tought it was same rules, but i think some russian ( hummer? zerender ? ) played for russia & also germany, its better to not change country, better if its not allowed.

Its not his fault he doesnt know every single applicant and that CB lets them apply even though they have no relation to that country. If you want to point fingers, point fingers at CB for implementing a ridiculous system that allows non members to apply.
As for your "criticism" on his personal opinions about captains picks, as he said it is of his own opinions concluded from the interviews he conducted.
He obviously spent a hell of a long time doing this article and putting aside CB's fuckups and his own opinions, then it was a great job. Most ppl didnt even know who had applied for their own country.

I've been critical over mistakes. At opinions - everyone has it's own but I can comment it in any way I want to. If I totally disagree, I can laugh, cry, whatever and it doesn't need to be presented in a sophisticated way. So no, it wasn't criticism @ opinions, but it definitely was @ meritorical mistakes.
