dM raid H2K again!

Dutch Call of Duty has often in recent times broken down into a two horse race between digitalMind and H2k(TMP) and the pendulum of power has swung from H2k well and truly to digitalMind but now the situation and the pendulum has taken a turn to the bizzare with digitalMind most certainly out on top.

Since H2k's 4th place at the Crossfire lan things have taken a turn for the worse, capitulating in a Netgamez tournament that did the side no favours what so ever. Not long ago digitalMind seized the initiative and turned to H2k for replacements picking up Netherlands zem and rapz and now they've turned to one of the sides biggest names.

To replace the outbound Roy, digitalMind have picked up their third H2k player in the shape of Solz who, as interviewed here on Crossfire was one of the biggest characters in the team, not only that but on of the most vital players. Solz is one of the few survivors from the old Northern Darkness team who went on to become TMPClan and finally homing with H2k, however some 3 months later he leaves to organisation for one of their biggest Dutch rivals, a team Solz even cited as a rival back in October.

The switch see's dM lineup as follows:

Netherlands rikk
Netherlands nutec
Netherlands zem
Netherlands rapz
Netherlands solz
Netherlands roy

Rumours of H2k's demise are greatly exaggerated however as the side have vowed to continue with big guns Joepoe, Doekoe, lrs and qwertY looking for a new friend!

Humm3L can finnish mystic

image: eurocupIn what has been a real baptism of fire for the returning Parodia legends and they're now faced with 2 days that could end their Eurocup season and destroy reputations they spent many a night building.

Last night Sweden noll8 ripped Finland sFx (aMonkeys) apart with a performance that was nearing perfection for the swedes, however the question remains where were the names and reputations of the finns? Average is about the kindest word for some of these stars and the performance as a whole draws far harsher words. Tonight they face Europe [<<] who themselves face the biggest opportunity to rekindle their RTCW based reputation from many a moon ago.

Lead by the charismatic Russia Humm3L, the former Highbot side have never been far away from the public spotlight with a few effervescent characters, but it is tonight when not only must they win to save their own Eurocup season after defeat to helix, however they can really make a name for themselves by condemning returning champions to exit in the fastest possible fashion.

It is ironic that tonight is the night when Barcelona can become the first reigning European Champion to bow out at the first hurdle, and sFx powered by Mystic, sAintt, Xpaz and Jauhis, 4 of the 6 European Parodia champions could set their own record for parachuting out of Eurocup without a trace. It is all on the line tonight as we see the first team bow out from Eurocup, the loser of this game goes home very empty handed.

Who's Eurocup season ends tonight, Humm3L's or mystics?

Match: Finland sFx-aMonkeys vs Europe Rewind

The Ashes are coming!

image: DeathofEnglishCricketIn Cricket there is a rivalry between England and Australia and each series is called the Ashes, it is ongoing right now. Its called the ashes because a bird was hit by a cricket ball and tragically lost its life, it was burnt and its ashes along with the birds death were to symbolise the death of English cricket who lost that series.

Today ET gets its ashes! Although its unlikely an English player will play, an Englishman (or a pomme) will admin and thats enough to give it this most unoriginal title (It has much to do with the fact Europe has no notable rivalries with Australia!). The popular Atlantic Battle series has possibly had its lifespan as the American's have given up, but the Aussies have come forth and challenged Europe to a war.

The match will take place on December 23rd at 14:00 CET which is 24:00 Australian time. The server is located in California and Australians are anticipated to ping around 200 with some European testers getting in the 150-175 range. The maps will be Supply Depot & Goldrush. The match server is kindly provided by seek from #snd-gaming and #Crossfire will be hosting the tournament itself.

Shoutcasting will be a joint effort between United Kingdom iTG's TosspoT and the Australia Gamestah crew, which should be an experience not to be forgotten! GamesTV.org will lend their irreplacable hand to all things ETTV.

As for the teams? The European Captain will be selected in the coming days who'll then by up against Australia angelus who has been both hard at work getting a team together but also organising things for this event down under!

Be sure not to miss out as ET gets intercontinental once again!

The series is named after a satirical obituary published in The Sporting Times in 1882 following the match at The Oval, in which Australia beat England in England for the first time. The obituary stated that English cricket had died, and the body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia. The English media dubbed the next English tour, to Australia (1882-83) as the quest to regain The Ashes.

Monkey business in EC tonight!

image: game1667The artists formerly known as Abnormal Monkeys (now sFx) are set to light up the Eurocup stage tonight with an all scandinavian battle against former RTCW legends noll8. Tonights match is the first of a brilliant ET double header and will see the return of half of the Eurocup winning Parodia side sat next to some of Finlands greatest talents.

The talk of the town has been all about the return of mystic and fans of the flying finn wont be disapointed as tonight he's back in all his glory, but more there are far greater things at stake tonight. Tonight's game is one on paper sFx are favourites to win, but with this being their first look at competitive action and combined with the random element of Adlernest the match is a crucial test against a well practiced noll8 unit.

Group D may well be this years group of death meaning every win and every map win is crucial to the outcome of the season and with it both sides will be looking to inflict as much damage prior to matches against high flying Europe Highbot(<<) and Germany Helix. Look to adlernest in round one of the matches this season to potentially being a pivitol moment in the entire season should the group be as close as expected.

Be sure to look forward to a cracker of a match and an evening as Christmas comes to Enemy Teritory. This is the first of an iTG double header with the ESL IPS Finals following after!

Bye Bye Serious!

In a bizarre twist of events, the team who can claim Eurocup as their biological father 'serious gaming' have stepped out of the firing line for this seasons Eurocup. Their departure has given birth to a new team 'Entropy' who feature some of the stars of Serious whilst they take a break.

Team Leader Ireland Crow stated:
QuoteAfter a lengthy discussion last night, we have decided to drop out of this season's EuroCup due to real life commitments. In the past we have put such things aside but with no major LAN events left in 2006 and no prize money or LAN finals for this season's EuroCup we feel now is the right time to catch up so to speak and take a break. For us the most important thing is to go into events such as Playz early next year at full strength and we believe this is the best way to do that. As a team we are sticking together and you can expect to see us back in action again soon. I would like to thank the management of Serious-Gaming for their continued support and understanding and to all our supporters and friends... see you in 2007!

Experience dictates that this is always a dangerous path to walk, rarely is it that any team come back from a break in the same shape or size that they went into it, however for a team born in the face of controversy this is just another challenge!

Entropy have replaced Serious in Eurocup with the following lineup that bares no conflict with serious gaming obligations:

Finland dark
Finland stim
Finland Sacrim
Finland -
Finland pakZr

In other CoD2 Eurocup changes Team fukyuu have been replaced by Reason-Gaming

Netrunners and FF split PGA!

image: nrff6
In an amazing turn of events the two polish hotshots FF.org and Netrunners who had both overcome European challenges from zP and CDAP split first place in a crazy scenario!

Netrunners & FF.org - Joint 1st - 2000 Euros -
zeroPoint! - 3rd - 500 Euros -

Due to the enforced closing time of the venue, all the players had to hightail it out of the Poznan Gaming Arena and with a tense final tied at 2:2 nobody knew where to turn. It looked at once stage that a knife round may infact be the decider for first place, however on second thoughts the two teams decided to split the 2000 Euro pot between both teams and call it even!

In the grand final it was FF that drew first blood taking Radar with a mere 10 seconds left to go, Supply Depot was to host the second map and with the pressure firmly on Netrunners they eased to tie the score. Forced into action the teams played a knife round to decide the match, FF won it, but, that round was to bare no relevance on the result of the tournament as both teams decided to share the pot and the placing.

Its been a fantastic days entertainment in Poland, with upsets and action at a dime a dozen! A big thanks to Foonr, GamesTV.org and Headshot radio for their excellent coverage, aswell as the whole PGA Admin team!

Wolfcam Update Available

Many months ago I posted a journal regarding Wolfcam for my upcoming movie GoodGame, I was lucky enough to be contacted by Sebastian "elf" Jedruszkiewicz who had been modifying Wolfcam for his own movie and he let me use his changes. Upon request he coded some more changes into the program and with it gave Wolfcam far greater functionality and compatibility with the ETPro cvars.

You can download the modified changes Here by simply replacing the files in this rar with those in your current Wolfcam folder, you may wish to backup the originals.

Readmore for a full changelog, and let me give thanks once again to Sebastian for his great effort and work!

TeK-9 preview 2007

image: tek9Netherlands Scarface of TeK-9 has previewed the opening lans for CoD2 in 2007. The season is looking to be quite busy already, and there are even more events on the way that havent been publically announced, so it'll be happy hunting for the cream of the crop once again. 2006 has Eurocup online still to come, but it is the start of 2007 where all hell breaks loose once more and heres a preview:

QuoteCrossfire Prize-fight Challenge LAN 2

Probably one of the best LAN’s of 2006 was the Crossfire LAN that featured in Rotterdam, Holland back in the late summer. This LAN event featured a very spectacular result that surprised many in the community as the newly formed Dignitas line-up became the first team to beat SPEED-LINK at a LAN ruining their reign of being top dogs. Dignitas also became the Crossfire champions of the tournament, a great moment for the team.

It has recently been announced that leading communal site for Call of Duty 2, Crossfire.nu will be teaming up with Wzzrd to bring another LAN event. The expectations of this are high already with the announcement only being made a few weeks ago. Hopefully this will make out to be just as good, if not better than the last event and with more support this time around, it sure seems like it will be.

You can read the full preview Here at TeK-9

Additionally, GotFrag previewed 2007 with a poll about the most anticipated lan of 2007, which Crossfire was proud to have done well in. 2007 is gearing up to be a hot year of CoD action once again!

Doctors Return!

Belgium mAx's internet searching skills brought to his attention one classic line from 2002 on the very day that the Doctors have returned to competitive action, unfortunately in CounterStrike.

It was this line back in March of 2002 from CPL Director Angel Munoz that saw the Doctors chose playing Wolfenstein proffesionally over CounterStike;

QuoteI do agree with you that RTCW is an interesting and viable game and our announcement today should prove that we are open to the possibility of using it at the Summer Championship Event.

Wiseguy from the Doctors followed that statement with:
Quote"RTCW is just an overall better game, and the way CS1.4 is looking our interest is lacking. We started the clan primarily for counter-strike, and who knows maybe one day we'll get back into it. Farewell CS, hello RTCW. " -- wISeGUy on the Doctors's Website.

The side went on to glory in Quakecon, but the game was never used in the CPL. Today the side returned to aim for glory and steal Mr. Munoz's money, this time in CS. They have joined Quakecon ET champions, Check6 and have surprisingly kept Wombat in CS rather than Quake 3 for the World Tour in 2007 despite him being a former CPL Q3 champion. Doctors won the GGL's DigitalLife F.E.A.R TDM tournament in October.
